I don't know why, but I love the Big Head Pinnochio! He's cute, and the Jimminy Crickey was an adorable addition that I wish they had kept in later versions.
It gives him more flexibility and better movement. The colors match perfectly and the head sculpt is identical to the original Pinocchio (1940). Also, Pinocchio is adorable!

You know something? The Disneyland Paris version almost looks like it has an articulated head. Just by the way whenever the head turns up and down, it almost looks like his mouth is opening and closing. I think it's kind of neat, and I hope we will actually get to see him have one, because let's face it, Pinocchio kind of deserves one, especially since he's been a masked character in the parks since the opening of Disneyland.

Having Pinocchio as a masked costume character makes sense because of how he looks and hecause he's a puppet, but having Jipedo as a face character would make a lot more sence since he's human.

Wrong, Mad Hatter appeared at the opening day of Disneyland as a face character, then in 1961 they made the giant headed/pie eyed Hatter costume which only lasted one year, then there was the same costume from before but it was updated to make It less scarier in 1962, in 1984/1985 they updated It again, now his hands can move and to top it off the face character of It was reintroduced in 1989.

The Pinocchio segment in the '73 Disney on Parade had him turn into a real boy, too. (Although, in the video that's on TH-cam you can't tell if a transformation has occurred because the characters are so far away.) I saw the show in person and remember those donkey ears and jointed jaw. (Wish I could remember if Pinocchio actually changed at the end. My mom told me it did.) ........ As a child I loved those big-headed costumes (that big-headed Pinocchio was before my time, though) and was sorry when they started disappearing. I guess my tastes were out of step with most people's (as they tend to be now).On your Pooh video I requested a retro of the Mad Hatter. The big-headed Mad Hatter intrigued me when I was small. I saw pix of him and always wanted to see him in person. However, that was the early '70s, and the costume was gone by then.
