Mine too. They messed up the prices on all of the new Transformers. I wonder how long it will take them to realize they put the wrong price. I'm not complaining though.

Reminder, all major Japanese toy stands are interchangable, since they use 3mm pegs (Tamashii, Figma, Revoltech, SAS, Transformers are interchangeable at the least)

Absolutely right, im shocked someone like @Vangelus wouldnt at least acknowledge Human Alliance Barricade, that figure is a must for any fans of the character
Anybody remember the Transformers movie DS game (the Decepticon version in particular)? The one where you start off as Starscream's protégé but after being assigned to be Barricade's partner the guy instead (after some initial hostility) becomes a mentor figure that teaches you what it means to be a decepticon...and he was voiced by Keith freakin David. That game made Barricade one of my favorite decepticons.

Barricade has just enough posability to holster his weapons, not as good as that one Not-Springer toy Vangelus reviewed a long time ago, but still better than nothing

looking at this again I'm surprised how much paint it has for each mode considering the entire shell is painted clear plastic
The new prices barely make it worth collecting them, leader Megs is about it for me and any deluxes your best off waiting a few months for wei jiang to upscale them with a bit of diecast for half the price.

I like that he's blue, now; the black always felt sort of boring, and it obfuscated a lot of detail. I guess that's the trade off for all that ugly beige he's got going on.

I bought the Premier Edition Optimus after a ton of back and forth, should i get him or not thinking. I ultimately did get him with a $5 TRS coupon thingy, but still feel sullied for spending the money on him. Kinda wish I got those RWBY vinyls instead...
Going through these old uploads now in 2021 leads to some pretty funny future knowledge hindsight. I guess we all should've realized that the "Premier Edition" markup was simply the gateway to "these are the new price points for the toys from now on".
Deluxes are now over $35CAD with tax. Damn.

great review. gotta agree on that whole premiere BS. over here deluxe TR where €20, when the most recent wave hit with Rodimus and co it jumped to €24 and now the movie deluxe are €27 I will say I caved and got Barricade only cause he was one my favs from way back in 07 when the first movie came out.

Anyone else want to see this guy repainted/remolded into Tarantulas? Honestly it's not just the very arachnid looking head that has me thinking that, it's also the cop gimmick. Remember according to Ravage old web butt was a Lieutenant in the Predacon Secret Police. A new paintjob, a little remolding to add more Cybertronian detail & presto you have a pre-Beast Wars Tarantulas. And yes I'm aware we already got two Botcon figures like that but one more can't hurt. One little thing I'd change about the head sculpt is add a flip down visor, y'know, to make him look even more Tarantulasy. Is that even an actual word? Probably not, but don't challenge me on it or I'll cut you. :)

I think if you expose the figure to black Light it reveals the decepticon logo on top of the hood.

Not sure how widespread, but Walmarts in my area of Pennsylvania have these premiere edition toys at the same price as regular release deluxe and voyager toys. For $20 I wasn't biting, but at $15.99 it was easier to swallow.
In Germany he Goes for 29 - 35 €. So like Canada we are Screwd too with that price point.
I actually really like this. Tempted to actually buy some movieformer toys now.
Fair warning to anyone watching this review: RIOT SHIELDING IS A TERRIBLE IDEA
The car roof is made of very breakable clear plastic, and after you do the shield thing enough times the hinge will just break off. It’s not fun

I think the "Premier Edition" title is just to distinguish these from the gimmick toys more, because apparently there was a problem with AOE where people would easily mistake the Deluxes with the Power Battlers and such because the packaging was so similar. So basically I think in this case, "Premier" just means "these are the toys that can pose and transform in more than three steps", not that they're premium items compared to other Deluxe/Voyager/Leader toys. The prices are definitely a bummer though.
You make these (overpriced) toys appear way cooler than they actually are - I mean to compliment your work. MSRP is about on par with Canadian pricing in Australia...I feel your pain.
half of me likes it, half of me hates it. this should be a $10 toy not a Premium Edition. I think Hasbro has sucked since age of Extinction. so disappointing, but maybe they'll have some kickass leader class figures
i must have gotten lucky with the premier edition stuff, my local Walmart stocks them at NORMAL Deluxe and Voyager prices.

Huh I'll swallow that 20$ next time I see him. He's so stocky but still incredibly sleek, and learning that he sorta has a butterfly joint just makes having a huge shield all the better
I use my boxes for storage. I can stick a AOE Snarl toy in with a TLK Slash toy. I like the boxes.
I got mine for $10 (half the original price) , because the store hadn't had them in the system but on the shelves.
Those fender tabs are too thick for the slots. I shaved some plastic off the tab one on side and from the slot in the other side. both worked well and the tab stays put now. on the slot i shved at an angle to create a more wedged shaped slot instead of a doing a straight cut.
@vangelus Best barricade figure ever made? Human Alliance Barricade would like to have a word with you. HA Barricade is superior to this in every way, not trying to be mean, im a huge fan btw.

not what you were looking for
When I bought mine, there were stress marks all over the back piece. On top of that, one of the windshields cracked in half while transforming. Thankfully, Hasbro is sending me a replacement, but still. Also, the Gatling wrist thingy came bent. I'm pretty sure that mine was just a defective one.
MC317 Gaming so did cha send the broken one back or you can try keep it because the broken glass can serve as sort of battle damage if it was painted alot more Rusty or dirty like the dark spark optimus
Energise I sent the broken one back but that's not a bad idea. The only problem is that I'm not good at painting.
MC317 Gaming I see ,there are actually people who willing to paint custom figure if paid them,if u are Lucky enough you may find a low price one , I am getting mine barricade soon as there is now a promotion if one spend a certain amount on tf product in my locals toysrus ,a goodie bag will be given include note book , a blind pack and something else also if one spend $200sgd ,they will receive a battle damage deco of deluxe bumblebee

CNFunnyJon Y'know, did we ever actually see him die? The first film just showed him get KTFO offscreen by Bumlebee, he showed up in car mode... And he kinda just never showed up later.

Did he? I remember Shockwave, Soundwave, Starscream, and Megatron got killed, along with a bunch of faceless mooks, but I don't remember him showing up. Then again, it has been a long time since I watched DotM.
