He flew at my DZ, and sadly he didn’t take the advice given to him by many veterans of the sport, like many wing suit pilots these day and are cutting corners and don’t have the experience, time, and skills to pull off what they are trying to achieve!
It’s sad, very sad, must be about four or five years ago now, but now you can go straight from you C licence straight into wing suit training, with no base training what do ever! It’s not right! Most BASE schools won’t take any pilot under them without a minimum of 300 jumps, still not enough in my opinion, but you can jump off a mountain and fly within close proximity to the earth with zero BASE training and it’s only making the annual fatality rates get higher and higher!
It’s just not right! Jimmy Freeman, Dwain Weston, Dean Potter, Grayham Hunt! All highly skilled BASE jumpers who have all lost their lives to their passions, all with many many years of experience, but you can fly a wing suit within a year if you get enough jumps done and have the money to do so?
The numbers are simply going to climb and the already tarnished sport will face more scrutiny with each and every death!

As a skydiver if 20 years (started when I was 17) and BASE jumping only a few years after that, seeing anyone fly, glide or fall with no helmet pisses me off!
People will always say what’s a helmet going to do if you have an accident? A fucking lot! I had a novice skydiver falling at an uncontrollable rate whilst skydiving once, belly to earth,
And he shot past me like lightning and his boot collected my head on the way down!
If I had no helmet I’d have been knocked unconscious as it made me see stars as it was, and even upon landing, a bad landing can cause you to hit your head and do the same!
People spend thousands of dollars on equipment to fly, glide etc, but won’t spend another few hundred bucks on a helmet?
Too crazy for me... Way too crazy!!!

Damn I want to fly so BAD! I've been tandem skydiving several times, but it's starting to lose that thrill. I want to FLY!!!! That tightrope thing though, hell NO! Lol now THAT is crazy. Plus I have shit for balance, but no thank you, I'll gladly take skimming the ground any day. Did he have a harness or not, I couldn't quite tell. I know people do it without it. Very cool!
There's nothing more dangerous than proximity wingsuit flying. How can you call highlining crazier? No way! Yes they did have a harness by the way.
