I just watched another channel where the expert is filling cracks in a concrete driveway. After applying the sealant exactly within each crack, he used a twig to dab each individual centimeter along the crack to ensure the right degree of spread. I wonder how long that would take such an approach on a real problem driveway with tens of feet to hundreds of feet of cracks? This video reminds people not to sweat those infinitely numerous details. If your spreader doesn't completely fill the cracks, you can come back again! :-)

advice to people using this specific blacktop crack filler. you gotta squeeze the bottle really tight. i dont know if its just me but this stuff refused to get out of the bottle. i almost wanted to screw off the top but i know that would have been a bad idea. or maybe it has to do with the opening. i snipped it off where the first ring around the funnel was. Ill try to snip a bit more off when i resume work on this the following day

I take the cap off and just pour slow and use a trowel to go over it

My hands and forearms were killing after a while, not to mention my back from bending over. I ended up using about three bottles. After the product dried(or so I thought) it rained and most of this junk washed away. Talk about pissing me off!

I had the same problem trying to squeeze it out of the nozzle as the jug is heavy and the jug plastic material was hard to grip and squeeze. I eventually squeezed it with a small bar clamp in addition to my fingers but it was tiring. Hope it lasts longer than first rain which another poster reported.

I was going to fill the cracks in first and than use the driveway way sealer. Definitely good to know that it’s the other way around 😅

Did the cracks open back up after the winter freeze? Mine always do no matter what product I have used to seal it. I live in NC and the temperatures normally get to the teens during the cold part of winter. Thanks.

Even the Professional's job of crack fill and sealing we had done last year recracked over a single winter!

If you do not seal this stuff before it rains it gets very soft again and brown.

Anytime I fill these nasty cracks, it looks great on the time of flight but once settled, they all shrink and a depression line runs all through the prior cracked area. I tried to fill partly with melted asphalt with not much avail, after one icy/snowy winter. Any suggestions?

Little late but I read if the crack is large enough, fill it with sand to reduce the material use.

@@aquamedic8857 No. Nothing like late. It's again that time of year...
What I've found meanwhile is the wider cracks, at least those that permit, you need to fill them with spongy tapes, so called Gray Foam Backer Rod or likewise that comes in various thickness.
I'm ready to start my own trial and error in this, including filling them with weather residant Silicon chalk or likewise! as the cracks are back again and in fact some look uglier this year, despite last years attempt for repair.
BUT... The true take home lesson is: Never asphalt your driveway. Concrete it. You will save yourself a lot of time, comfort, neatness and sanity!
