Remember When this gun came out. And it could reach damage cap. Because it used to double the damage on each pulse of the reload. So max fire rate and and Max magizine, you quickly reached millions of damage when you reloaded
The Basmu is a fun weapon mechanically, but my biggest complaint with it is the fact that its unique reload has anti-synergy with both Reload Speed and Mobility... In case anyone doesn't know, the "reload" from empty does 3 radial pulses that deal 10 True damage (affected by Base damage or Faction Damage mods only) and heal you for 10× the damage dealt (100 per pulse per enemy at base). The problem is that increasing your reload speed by even as little as 15% is enough to remove the third pulse, as they trigger at set times. It *also* stops the pulses early if you do things such as jump or bullet jump. So while the pulses aren't gonna be doing a lot of damage anyway at high levels, you miss out on a THIRD of its unique healing effect by equipping Merciless or potentially more if you jump at all while reloading.

I use the Basmu mostly on my Harrow, with his 2nd ability matched to get exactly one pulse on reload, which serves its function as assist kill generator and having his 4 get the crit up for the secondary fire too, they are a good match, give it a try.
doesn't the pulse do like double damage after each one, so you are actually missing out on like half of the healing and not just a third? I remember a bug a while back where you could make the basmu oneshot everything because of the reload doing something like that, they may have removed it when they fixed the bug though
For weapons with multiplicative gunCO, it's actually not a bad idea to stack base damage with serration and an arcane because every point of damage you add is multiplied. I'd personally take off scope in place of serration and outsource the faction damage with roar so you can replace it with critical delay. Good stuff
@SamanthaLaurier the galvinised mods (in this case aptitude) that function the way Condition Overload does for melee weapons. Multiplicative CO is really powerful and weirdly not talked about

Basmu became my favourite weapon 2 months ago, got a +cd, +dmg, -dmg to grineer riven, using that sentinel mod that gives you 1.2x crit multiplier, the secondary fire of basmu goes up to 20x crit. I'm using Sevagoth (my favourite frame) with shadow haze augment, with all the conditionals it adds flat 200+ crit chance and 200% dmg bonus on enemies, everything in fron of me just disappears.
There’s a way to never have to reload the Basmu ever but it does require a bit of trigger discipline (only works for primary fire). Basmu got a fairly high fire rate for a 21 mag rifle but it got a very quick ammo recharge if you don’t empty the mag, so the play is (and it requires a little bit of muscle memory) to fire the primary fire till you reach 10-5 mag then let it recharge and in a fraction of a second it’d be full again and then you repeat (basically fire and never empty the magazine).
problem with this is not everyone runs Lavos and tbh Saryn does corrosive infusion better because by the time you do the hold and tap casts for making corrosive on Lavos a simple Saryn user needs to do one hold cast and then they delete at least 75% of what's in front of them in a matter of seconds
@theunhingedgamer3762 Yes, saryn is better. Does that make lavos bad? Not at all. The fact that we can now diversify in warframe is very good. Throw saryn at the problem is what everyone has been doing since her update. Some of us get bored of that 😢

Saryn just gives you corrosive damage and if thats all you care about then you should be looking at Hydroid instead, Lavos gives forced procs letting you strip armor at an incredible pace

Lavos can I be beat on the at least utility of elemental infusion. Saryn may get a higher bonus, but he has far greater versatility and utility.
Basmu was my first riven. I'd never heard of it, so looked it up, decided to buy it off market, and have really enjoyed it. It easily got me through star chart. It's also an excellent primer with its secondary fire, as you can get 3-4 different statuses on it and it applies them very quickly.

Accurcacy on hit for basmu is actually really good cos the spread is a bit all over the place, if you run crit with scope. I hate scope so I just got myself 200% crit chance riven with added magazine capacity, and I use hu-mu for those added slash procs. They both melt enemies as well as contribute another status for galvanized aptitude, which is indeed multiplicative for both dire hits and explosions, and also for the beam.
My build for it swaps out Scope and the Faction mod for Radiated Reload and Amalgam Serration- yes I use that, I like the additional movement speed- and it kinda both kills the ramp problem dead and pumps the damage a surprising amount cause it means the thing can set five statuses instead of four, which pumps an additional 80% damage out of the deal. 15% critical chance is actually fine with how high this thing's fire rate is, cause the slash procs are really just here as a damage buff.
Basmu is one of my favourite guns, I'm running an absolutely standard build for any hybrid weapon but i do have a nice riven for Multi + crit damage. One of if not THE BEST Harrow gun, super high Crit damage and fully automatic infinite ammo. I don't even play harrow but i still love the gun
I mod mine for the reload, so max fire rate to have constant pulses, along with base damage to boost the pulses. Not the hardest-hitting use of the weapon, but it kinda becomes a gun variant of Hirudo in terms of self-heal potential.
Y'know, if you run Lavos with Valence Fusion, the ramp up is fixed AND you can force proc whatever you want ;) A single mag can proc heat or electricity up to 80-90 times with Valence Fusion
Do note that while he does force procs, the +200% damage is added as if it was an elemental mod at the end of the mod track, following the HCET rule (heat, cold, electric, toxin). 😊
This thing wants to be as cool as the convetrix. With a viral/heat build it puts over 200 heat and slash procs out almost instantly. It does steel path easily. AND its a high dispo with really cheap rivens because no one uses it.
I remember when this was first released and was bugged to have mods apply multiple times on the reload pulses. You could put Tainted Mag on it for a 4th pulse and do millions of true damage. If your build was good enough, you could get slapped by the anti-cheat system.
With that last build you could try Crit Delay instead of Scope against the higher level stuff. You were often running low on Scope stacks since your slash and heat procs were "stealing" headshot kills from you. (Gas and electric DoT kills can register as headshot kills, but slash, heat, and toxin DoT can't.) Scope did better than I thought I would, but Crit Delay is worth a try anyway. Also Basmu gets plenty of status application without Hammer so I'd probably also replace it with Vital.
Love the Basmu so much. My riven i rolled has 193% damage, 155% crit chance, 144% crit damage. 3 mods in one, makes it so easy to run hybrid and let's me try out some funky builds without sacrificing really anything

What I like to do with Basmu is put it on a Duality Equinox and mod it for corrosive. What I do is summon my Duality specter and while she's shooting dudes with the primary fire I prime them up with the Secondary fire to strip their armor. Seriously, when modded for Corrosive and with two Green Archons that secondary fire can strip armor STUPID fast. I suggest playing around with the elements some more, since the Primary deals both Electric and Heat means you can get some weird stuff going on. Also, a controversial opinion, I like to use Irradiating Reload since the reload time is a bit long for my taste in comparison to the magazine size and mechanic it has. Sure, having reload speed on it reduces the healing pulses, but honestly imho they aren't worth it. And yes, I can just have good trigger discipline, but that's not always reliable in a mission.
Could get some corrosive from using Inaros 4 too, which would apply your emeralds. Not sure if they'd have to be the last 4 stacks to get full strip or not tho.
I was wondering if you could do a video on the Veldt, a semi auto primary rifle with variable zoom, the stats on it are pretty solid and I'm hoping that DE gives it a Prime eventually, I'm sure it can be usable with the correct modding

Found a Basmu riven in my inventory a while ago and lucked into a double crit with no negative roll early. Basmu has been an absolute monster ever since lol Im curious what youd do with a Shedu though.
I stopped using Basmu long ago because it really isn't that great anymore (not that it was to begin with) and the hype around it at launch was not justified because all it was (and still is) is just a faster firing Shedu which also funnily enough was weak and even with galvanized mods they don't save the gun especially since galvanized aptitude doesn't work since this gun is classed as an explosive weapon

It's my favorite rifle since Scarlet Spear, there's just something special about it thats so satisfying. Lot of love for basmu
For real, I use it with a Hound and Moa that have Reinforced Bond cause that bonus Fire Rate is nutty and useful.

It's basically the Collector Sniper Rifle from ME3, but it's actually good.

I loved it for its giggle CC reload, purposefully slowing reload for the effect.

Really fun with a gas, electric, humu build if you run a frame that can armor strip and group.

I use it on Nezha in combination with an Adarza Kavat and Arcane Avenger, even have a Riven for one-slot viral.

Try mag size makes it so much better imo
