- For starters, why did I make the video? To show you how much sea life that you can't see just beneath the surface of the water. Watch the BTS narrative from this Short I made a few months ago so you have some context with what you're seeing. Even being 100 miles offshore, their have been quite a few comments and opinions whether or not you'd be eaten alive by sharks if you had to make the jump into in the water. What's your take?

So cool!!
Thanks for watching 👊
There was very little risk of me being eaten alive by sharks at Castle Peak Power Station, Hong Kong, I jumped off the deck there back in 1999. I was doing a dive job and needed to get in the water in a hurry, so I thought, "One life", and went for it. Swam away, back onto the junk boat and was none the worse off, luckily! Oh, it's 26 metres above the waterline!
Wow that's a big jump!
Also, when I did the Offshore Survival coarse, I was taught to enter the water in a certain way, and this method is still taught and used today. In an emergency situation when getting ready for emergency evacuation one should immediately put a survival suit on. This suit, in conjunction with how one enters the water, is what has and will save lives, when jumping from the dizzy heights of an offshore rig.
