Honestly, ...family is important, but if the family takes advantage of that personal bond and tries to use it to herd you into what THEY believe is the right way... you have to decide for yourself if they're worth protecting JUST because "they're family" ...family shouldn't be given a pass when they do something wrong.
Family DOES need to stick together...but when one apple in the family tree starts to show signs of rotting, you CAN'T ignore it and let it get anymore rotten. In other words; when a member of your family starts exhibiting a lack of empathy, excessive hostility or disinterest in you...you MUST take action
Blood is thicker then water. It reverse what it originally means. The full saying is "The Blood of the covariant is thicker then the water of the womb". Meaning bonds forged willingly are stronger then though forged by forced. Your family in this 'story' is an example on how fragile a family bond is when you try to force it to stay together.
Damn. I watched this six months ago and watching this again brings back so many memories of me and my brother growing up. At a around 13 or 14 he started taking steroids and his personality did a complete 180. It got so bad that one day he got into a fight with our dad and nearly choked him out. He would have killed him if I hadn’t intervened. He came back and beat me to within an inch of my life. I had two almost completely swollen eyes, my bottom lip was swollen to about the size of a cocktail weenie, and my nose was swollen to two times its normal size. When my mom found out she called the cops and he was arrested and sent to a children’s home and later was sent to juvie after stealing a truck. Luckily the time in juvie straightened him out and me and him have a better relationship because of it. I know that it’s probably too late to say this but I hope that someday you and your brother can repair your relationship. But if you can’t know that it’s not your fault. A person can only be helped If they choose to be helped.
"Family needs to stick together, no matter what." *stands by while one son threatens the life of the other* *lets husband drive away their other son* *Sister refuses call for help from son being ganged up on* Way to "stick together.," you three. Or did you forget that Brawny's family too?
You know, going back to this multiple times, I'm reminded of my family a bit and how my grandparents treated my dad and uncle. My dad had been dishonorably discharged for "allegedly" selling off weapons and as a result, he was locked in prison. My family bailed him out, but what resulted was a bunch of events that ultimately culminated in my birth. My grandparents constantly reprimanded him and had to work to reign him in. Maybe it was due to fear, because my dad was dumb, overly demanding, and responded to everything with violence. And... Yeah, I wasn't exempt from that either. It's why I'm now hiding somewhere else, because I'm afraid of being near him, even though people say he's changed. My uncle was a different story. Rather than fearing him, I think my grandparents just saw his old self and wanted to try and bring that back by constantly bailing him out, having him live with them and protecting him when he did something stupid. Eventually though, they stopped supporting him, he became a drifter, and eventually got arrested on tax evasion. That time in jail changed him, I think. Now, he has a job, has a kid and recently got his own place. I guess I can see a lot of both instances in this story. All I can really say in the end is that you're a strong man. I'm sorry for being a tool last time we conversed and I hope to work with someone like you in the future. Someone with his head on straight who isn't afraid of facing a problem head on.
Replacing the lavender... A lot of spells or elements have to be pure. You have to clean gems and purify elements. So Luna uses lavender as an aid to her sister and anyone else in the palace
I have a grandfather who is as stressful as hell and none of his children can stand him, they all got married just to change their last name to avoid being related to him anymore. I personally won't forgive him for stalking my mother across B.C. and making us move so many f*ing times, my sister is like you should forgive him he doesn't have much on this earth think of your grandma, I do and I don't understand why she hasn't left him years ago. And you know what I gave him his chance to prove that he had changed, I had to stay with him for three weeks because of a fire, and he pushed me to tears just because I wanted to be on the computer to forget about everything burning, so he can die sad and alone for all I care, no grandparent should make their grandchild cry just because they want a little normacy during a wildfire panic.
Twilight: "I already know!" Am I the only one thinking the way Celestia and Luna reacted to Twilight's entrance indicated they partially knew she was gonna do that?
Ok that ending skit though. I'm so mad at Brawnys parents and sister for being so nieve and blind to Bucks downward spiral into a dark place that nopony should be in, and I don't think I'll ever like them because of their stupidity and blindness. I believe you Brawny. I will never leave your side. WHO ELSE IS WITH ME!?!
They're not naive, they are ignorant enablers. And by that, i'm referring to his parents. His sister, however, can't really do much against her parents, so she may simply feel forced to let it slide ... The best thing is indeed to either remove oneself from that kind of family or accept the nonsense. Are the parents doing the best they can? Sadly, they seem to think so, but they may very well be wrong ... but as parents, they cannot face that, or won't admit it even if they know it. ....It is a mess.
Ah, co-dependency. It's a lovely distortion of genuine affection. The Greeks had four words for love; Agape, Storge, Phileo, and Eros. Eros being a love pertaining to the senses, it isn't wrong in of itself until its drives end up driving you. The element of selfishness twists it into a motivating factor for some of the most heinous acts imaginable. And all because of the distortion of something perfectly good like hunger or desire. Phileo is love based on respect. Like a friend or teacher you look up to, it only becomes distorted when your respect for them goes beyond reality. It can lead to very poor decisions in life and even committing to the mistakes people before you have made simply because they are the ones who made them. Storge is affection, or loving actions. Wanting to demonstrate love is probably the last thing people would imagine could be distorted and become dangerous, until they hear these kind of stories. When a desire to demonstrate love becomes a desperate attempt to win someone's approval, it is a hidden distortion so small that it ends up overlooked to the point where entire relationships fall apart from it. You can't call someone out on their behavior because "it would be un-loving." You can't set limits with your children because "I love them too much to see them sad or disappointed." It not only spoils them, but makes room for corruption to the point where you're accommodating their behavior all masked by the hope that they know you "love them" in this storge fashion. When in reality, the affection is being used as a tool to save yourself the grief of even a moment of disapproval from the one you're depending on for your purpose and meaning in the relationship. Family, friends, or even our own bad decisions need to be taken careful note of for this kind of perversion. Agape is the kind of love defined by self-sacrifice. It can be confused with a martyr complex but that's more often found in Storge's perversion than anything else. A willingness to lose something for someone else's gain is the greatest possible love you can show. The only problem with it is how hard it is for us to do. You were willing to lose something if it would ultimately show there truly was a problem in that home. The key to seeing it through is not falling into bitterness over the results. You can be loving even when you're the only one doing it. You can be the one to make the sacrifice and cut off the hazardous and unwilling to deal with the real problem just like God does. In respecting our decision to refuse Him, He also made the first step in laying down His own life for His friends. That's the example He set and without Him, it is impossible to see through without despair. The good news is that Psalm 27:10 exists.
**watches argument** **hears him saying about girlfriend and wings** **gasp** ok Brawny LET ME AT HIM!!.......also HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT YOU **Firends comes in and covers mouth** Friend: language U ARE A BAD PONY!! Friend: **sigh**
Honeatly that whole thing at the end really tugged at my strings a bit, it makes me so goddamn angry when I see people just trying to actually help, only to have those they once called friends and even family side with the 1s who started the whole argument in the 1st place. It angers me so much when someone tries to help, only to be completely shut down by those trying to help the horrible angry 1s responsible for it all
Came for the fun silly pony episode review, stayed for the family drama 0_0 Holy heck, excellent story-telling, Brawny. It's amazing to see how far you've come in life, even if you still have a ways to go in realizing your dreams. The friends who care for you and support you through good times and hard times are invaluable, and watching this video reinforces that idea even more.
Celestia? Pretty sure there's a LOT more to aiding people with the prevention of nightmares than a simple spell. The lavender just helps the dreamer stay asleep & relax so they're less prone to nightmares. The rest is up to the dreamer's subconscious both the negative and positive. There's a metric f**kton of psychological, emotional, and even environmental factors to deal with ON AN INDIVIDUAL LEVEL! And that's not even including the physical threats (ie monsters, unsavory individuals, ect) that luna likely has to defeat ALONE! Ya know come to think of it? I'm surprised Luna hasn't dropped dead from exhaustion years ago.
Daybreaker is basically the Reverse Nightmare Moon with characterization of villainy that has a good compare and contrast: - their color designs can be swats with a negative color palettes - Nightmare Moon is a Redeemed/Reformed villain that Luna became in the past, and Daybreaker is it True Villain as a separate entity of Celestia that she feared of becoming throughout the years to that day. - Dark bat-like Wings & simple armor design to symbolize her need for attention ,versus Armored-prideful Wings and a Expressive jeweled-Crown to symbolize her domination of all the power see Possesses. - Nightmare Moon's more psychological approach by fully using her magic to weekend and breakdown her opponents distracting & controlling them while she obtains her goal; versus Daybreakers headstrong and prideful arrogance as she storms into battle with overwhelming force and ferocity against her opponents! - Nightmare Moon created by Luna's isolation and abandonment as for work is unappreciated as she wants to gain attention and Power to obtain something she deserves; vs Daybreaker created by Celestia who realizes the power she has as the sole ruler of Equestria and let it go to a head by dropping her moral compass and taking the charge to eliminate her foes once and for all to ensure her rain goes unchallenged to express dominance!
If i had some like buck. I would just ask the parents "when are you going to put your foot down?" "How is he going to act in the real world??" "If you don't teach discipline just imagine what happens when your not here"
Okay, 1: You made the reaction I’ve been waiting for! 2: I am so sorry about your family. I have never had to experience that with my family but I feel so sad you had to go through that. We’re all here for you, Brawny, if anything, you have us.
@@chylcody7804 i can only imagine what they'd do in universe. Irl i just hope they're giving him support. But in Ponyverse...Id think Firebrand and the other Analysts who have the TF2 counterpart skills would likely play support if that potion gives problems
Actually I'd think Firebrand would be all over arresting this guy; a dishonorably discharged soldier abusing his family? Pretty sure that'd be on his shite list
This scenario kind of reminds me "The Son," an episode of the 1960's show Dragnet where the son of a family breaks into his parent's home to pawn stuff for narcotic money. The difference between that and your situation is that the parents were willing to help their son recover instead of letting him continue his habit. I hope you can find a resolution to the chaos in your home Brawny.
That ending... God... Speaking as someone who can't even stand up to my siblings, that ending is too real. My dad keeps telling me to stand my ground and prove my brother wrong, but nowadays it's just too hard. He's too stubborn. I can't do a thing about it. When I finally go to college next year, I don't ever want to come back home because I know what will happen when I'm home. On a more positive note, I'm glad you made this video. It's really nice to see you doing these videos again.
OMG, man I’m so sorry you have been through that. It so sad that your parents don’t want to realize that they hindering and worsening the situation by feeding into his habits and that him attacking you wasn’t enough a wake up call that this needed to be stop. I started watching your videos because I like the sound of your voice honestly I find it sexy and I hope eventually things work out for you in the future.
"I'm not choosing between my sons, but-" NO. You ARE choosing. And you made the choice to let someone continue to suffer and pushed away the son who wanted better. If you pull that crap on any son, you're not a father. You don't deserve to be.
...You have my sympathy, and my prayers, Brawny, for all that you have been through. I enjoyed this review, and the episode it's attached to. I also enjoyed the storytelling after the main review. *Sighs.* Some of that hits close to home too, though my experiences are vastly different in many ways. Also... I recommend ooking up both Scapegoat and Golden Child in regards to parenting. What you have gone through sounds familiar in more than just the personal way. Thank you for sharing this review. EDIT: I've watched this review repeatedly over the past couple days. I keep getting reminded of stories other people have of similar experiences. A mother too devoted to one child. The favored child out of control. A husband who supports/enables the favoritism. And other children who are either cowed into going along, or scapegoated as the cause of the problem. The line that YOU, Brawny, were responsible for Buck Wild getting angry/escalating haunts me, because you're not responsible for HIS bad choices, or your parents enabling his bad choices. You're the one trying to confront the theft and drug use. *Sighs.* Also, like I said, familiar with certain aspects of this. Best wished to you, Brawny. Go with God.
True family doesn't let a family member take everything and they do not let brothers kill each other, they seek help for the members who have mental issues with addiction or anger problems, mental therapy is the only way to treat the mental addiction to a substance or perpetual rage.
12:23 Brawny, you had the perfect opportunity to recreate the one scene(right down the pose and everything)in _One Punch Man_ by stopping your hoof close to your brother’s face with the force of your punch would go past him leaving an imprint of your hoof on a cliffside or something scaring him straight(supposedly). What a missed opportunity.
Holy crap Brawny, this is deep! Many prayers, love, and wishes to you ans to your family. Stay strong. One more thing, its good to see you again and making more videos, I really do enjoy them.
My heart hurts. Brawney I'am truly sorry that your family is blind to how much you love them. Love in any form is hard and being family doesn't excuse your brother from dragging his family down into his self- destructive spiral. If it means anything I believe in you Brawney.
Brawnys dad: Then maybe... it's best if you weren't here.. Galaxy ( my OC ) and Brawny: what! Brawnys dad: your mother and I had a handle on it before you came and aggravated him even more thos is why we didnt want you to know what he was doing we knew he was doing this I'm not choosing between my sons but if you can support that then.. Brawny: you cant be serious. Mother? Brawnys mom: It will be ok brawny we just have to put this behind us. Brawny: Rose help me please.. [ rose walks off ] [ brawny runs off ] Brawnys mom: Brawny!! Galaxy: Brawny come back! [ flies after him tears strolling down face ] Buck wild: that's right run away I pray I never see you again you'll be s dead colt do you hear me!!
5:27 Yeah, I feel your pain. I'm a lot happier since I changed fields, but seeing the idiocy that pervades my old one is enough to make my head explode.
The Daybreaker thing seems like something Celestia has faced before. Did MLP pull an Inception and add something Celestia feared or is this just some phoned-in conflict to drive home the episode's aesop?
In my opinion, Nightmare Moon was created by Starlight's fears of Luna becoming Nightmare Moon again, but Daybreaker was created by the combination of Starlight's fears that she'd make the problem even worse this time, AND a certain amount of subconscious fear from Celestia that she'd also stop caring and become a monster. I think Daybreaker is partly Celestia's unintentional doing because of two things: 1: Daybreaker is scarily accurate in being Celestia, except without caring about anyone else. (The way that Celestia is most likely to break/turn evil.) 2: Daybreaker is only banished by Celestia confronting her and affirming that she'll never stop caring/never become Daybreaker, not Starlight facing her fears. So... mostly Starlight being able to read/understand people, but a little bit of Celestia too.
gokuandmario4ever When Brawny notified me of the Backboard lines for this episode, he asked he if I’d like to voice him “one last time,” so I think he meant that he has nothing more planned for future appearances for his pony parents given the context of this video.
This.....hurt.....on a very deep personal level for me. It’s taking all I have to keep from crying because it’s late night where I am as of watching this. Mom disowned me because of an outsider lying about me, and now she won’t even talk to me without being made to by my dad, who hardly ever talks to me either just to keep the peace. The one who lied about me has ruined any chance of having any hint of a relationship with my mother again, and dad is happy enough to just play along with it. I sincerely hope that things get better for you Brawny, because you’re better then what the brother here said about and did to you.
Wow, when you told us of the situation a couple of years ago, I never thought it that bad. I understand what your parents were trying to do, misguided as it was (says a third party that doesn't know the entire history). The stuff you have demonstrated in your other episdoes shows the strength of character you have. I also understand now why you didn't include the dreams Celestia saw as that wasn't the point of your edits. Thank you for showing the whole background of leaving. I'm hoping there is some reconsilation with your parents and sister (if any was needed). I'd say I also hope you were able to heal some of the wounds with your brother, but that would have to come from him. It doesn't look like that will happen anytime soon. I'm sure you don't want any advice from a stranger commenting on a TH-cam video, but know that I am a fan of your work and can offer you morale support.
Yikes...that got dark pretty fast. I half expect the next buck to the face to start with a police report about something bad happening caused by a drug addict ex-guard.
Wow, just wow, I had a feeling this was going to happen... The sad fact people who are enablers they have an unheathy mind set, if they can keep the person who is (a drug addic, alacaholic, or abusive) happy everything will be okay, even if they loose what truly what's important. It takes a huge shock for them to relise they are not helping the person, keeping them happy is making them pay a price that will cost them. Nice call back to gen 1, with the witch weed
Some ponies needed a swift slap in the face at the end of that video. Put it behind us? Families HAVE to stick together?! Buck off with that utterly toxic bulldust! I'm so sad and angry. I've not had anything even remotely close to this happen, so I can't imagine actually experiencing that. My heart hurts, so much.
@@williamcrowe2576 Unfortunately for a lot of people, saying that they would do that and actually doing that are two very different things. Cutting ties with family is a very very hard thing to do, even for people who know their families are toxic and unchanging.
I'd talk about how overly dramatic and needlessly dark that end scene was if it weren't for the fact that it's actually really damn common for such a dynamic to develop in a family where abuse is chronic.
It must have been hard to write this into your series. You've always been really strong putting such deep personal life stuff in your videos. I don't know how long ago this was, but I'm hopeful that things have improved and we will see some of that improvement in future videos. Either way, sending prayers your way, Brawny. Also, good analysis of the episode, some of your comments cracked me up XD
I know this news is at least a year old, but I'm so sorry you had to go through all of this Brawny. I wish I had my refuge up and running so you would have had a place to live when all this went down.
I know what it's like to not have family (just because of the backstory I gave to my main oc Rainbow Sparkle) but I can't imagine the pain you must have felt when you were kicked out
The ending was just so painful to watch and it got so close to home with my mother who had a drug addicted stepbrother who can’t even be a good father to his son who is my step-cousin. And seeing your parents enabling him just makes it all the world worse, I’m sorry you had to go through that and I hope your parents can open up their eyes and see that they are making his addition worse. 15:50
Millenia old doesn't necessarily mean mature, in fact going by legends immortals often flip flop from wise to childish. Let's take a look at arguably my least favorite god Zeus. He is often portrayed as childish and even evil, but he also has moments of wisdom and even righteous fury. Such as when he and the other Olympians were invited to a feast with a king who had cooked at least one of his own children to serve to the gods. Zeus and most of the other gods (except Demeter) realized what he had done, so Zeus killed him and had him put in a lake of wine with an olive tree above his head, but whenever he tried to eat or drink the substances would move away from him.
I'm glad that things between me and my brother and my sisters are good, and now I see what would happen if things escalated out of control especially if we continue the fight with each other or our parents.
Well, in case if you want to know what happens afterwards... (SPOILER ALERT!!!) After kicking Brawny out a window, Wilde assaults him with his own katana, but makes the mistake of cracking a joke about Brawny's missing wings. So Brawny goes on the offensive and kicks his brother's flank. He nearly finishes him off Saitama style, but their father stops him from doing so. After an intense argument, Brawny's family decides to kick him out to avoid more conflict, so Brawny angrily trots off with Wilde taunting him like a bitch.
@@janes_dick5843 Princesses are just that badass, or FiM ponies are just that tough in general. Alicorns DO combine the flight of Pegasi, the magic of Unicorns, and the toughness of Earth Ponies.
There is a time for unconditional support, and there is a time to cast out devils and make them live with their own choices if for no other reason than to protect the rest of the family. When addictions or other life choices causes someone to become emotionally and physically abusive and stealing from friends and family shielding them from consequences is not the answer. And those that love them must be strong enough to cut them off (for a time) to help the individual understand that they have already hit rock bottom and the next stop is six feet under as well as to protect others. May have to finish my thoughts later.
14:37 by this point I had to say something, but I don't know if this is a story for pony character, or your real life story. If it is the first one. I really can relate to the story, how family choosing sides is unfair at lest and full out abandoning a child at worst and the middle ground is bad to. Sometimes it feels like my dad dose not love me, that he loves his new wife more then biological family. I'm still mad at him for him going with his new wife(not my mum) to Melbourne for his new wife's I think grandmother funeral, In stand of going to my little sister graduation. Her primary school graduation, she was 12-13(I'm not sure myself about what her exact age she was), his new wife grandmother is dead, but my little sister will remember for the rest of her life that her big sister was there dress like a dad making dad jokes to fill the spot that her actually dad left because he chose to go with his "new" wife. His "new" f ing wife. His new wife makes good money. His new wife apparently is good in bed. His new wife that is a good cook apparently. Ya she is soooooooooo great, ya............ ( I'm being sarcastic) If its the ladder, that the story is about your real life. I still feel the whole family choosing sides thing in my heart, what I said still holds true in my life, but I'm a little worried about you, I hope your okay. Stay strong, and know we all you subscribers are here for you.
No I'm with you brawny... If someone in my family started acting that way? I'd be the first to either book it or tell them that they need to stop or that they're not my family anymore.
That ending segment is a good example of why I've called you Senpai in the past, Brawny. I'm sure some of your story is lost in fiction/translation from the source inspiration, but the core concept of trying to draw the lines between self discipline, caring about others, and knowing when to put your foot down (and exactly how hard to do so in the ladder of escalation) and (truly) knowing when it and isn't your place to do anything is a constant struggle for a lot of people that want to be genuinely good, but seem to stand alone in these regards in a family and/or community that want to simply keep status quo and be the bare minimum "good" to keep said status quo.
Having verbally disowned a close relative myself, I often find myself sitting on a thought. "Blood is a fine catalyst for forming the bonds of family, but that is all that it is. It is not a requirement, nor does it automatically constitute it." This may be me tapping into my hard ball cold hearted side more than I should, but if given a similar circumstance of enablement and blind defending, I would state something along the lines of "He is like an infected limb in this family. It either needs treatment from the root cause or amputation to save the rest of the family. If you won't treat nor allow me to amputate him from the family, then I must amputate everything that ties me to him from myself until something finally makes the cycle finally end, even if that includes you. Good say Mr and Misses (insert family name here). I'll leave you to your family affairs. I have no say in this because it's not my family anymore." and possibly resist the urge to add "Not that I had any say to begin with." Or, at least it would be on the list of options, for when it finally escalated to an appropriate point. my own experience of doing so took a long time to finally reach such a point. (Edit: Huh... kinda a six/half a dozen of what was in the video with the minor tweak of it not being the father's call to sever ties. but then again I was never much for forming personal bonds with anyone very easily)
Here I thought you stopped making these. Nice to see that you're still giving episodes a good buck to the face, Brawny. Sadly, you've got a LOT to catch up on
Holy Shit......That's deep......Idk but.....Why do I feel like That story is based on Brawny's real life? Think about it! Replace Witch Weed for something like Crack or Marijuana, and this makes complete sense. I mean, as of the time I'm writing this, Brawny had the go find campaign to help get him on his feet. Damn.....I'm honestly so sorry for ya man. Having a brother I love, I'd be completely devastated if something like this happened to him. Family fighting shouldn't happen, but at the same time the best decision isn't the easiest. Need I bring up Luke vs Darth Vader? That's Father to son! You can't take that lightly!

While you can only help people who are willing and receptive to help, casting them out would only make things worse, as is running from the problem. You have to be there for them, and offer possible solutions if you can. And hope to both Celestia and Luna that the people you care about will come to the realization that accepting help is not weakness, and that they should do so. My older brother learned early on to armour himself in anger. He was a very smart person with a lot more potential than me, but he had a lot of issues working with others. He was proud, and loyal, and very few people could work as hard as him. But because of his anger and frustration he carried a lot of stress, which manifested physiologically, and became worse as he put further physical stress on his body. He was constantly in pain and had trouble sleeping, and as a result, had prescriptions for painkillers. He also could not self-moderate, always doing his work 100% until it was done, even choosing to work long hours instead or regular hours. The rest of us tried to offer him a number of tools to help him be more mindful and restful, but he was also stubborn in how he thought of himself and the world around him. That armour of anger was something he would not put away. My older brother had many plans, but last December, through a perfect storm of circumstances that are apparently more common than I think anyone would like to think, he passed away. It is hard to think of what could have been if he had accepted help, but he also wasn't the type to listen and change. My older brother never reached the age of 40, and he left behind a lot of hurt and messes, one of which being that the mother of two of his daughters wants to keep them (and herself) separated from their family. Changing her mind will not be easy, if it will happen at all, but we have to keep trying. That's family, after all. My brother was my biggest bully. I always lived in fear of what he might do to me, or, later on, of stepping on one of his sensitivities. I felt no relief when he passed, just disbelief that there was nothing we could do for him. I don't think it's that we didn't try hard enough, we didn't have enough time to. None of us expected this loss, not so soon. I still feel bad that I could not cry for him. Do _not_ let it be too late for those you care about. Be there and offer help, as many times as it takes. To my family, if you see this, please know that I am here if you need me.
Has anyone else had nightmares about their teeth falling out? That part really shocked me from this episode because I have, and they are among my least favorite nightmares.
I understand at pain too for some in the family to be come a drug addict and it takes a big hit on those you love. Believe me when I say my brother is not the same as I remember. And it hurts me seeing my gramom blaing my brother. Or she would balm my mother for not being there for him. When in fact we ware there for him. And I am going hard and bad Mental heal and suicied though at is time I am going look for help. But for now I am just scared
"Holy crap. How horrifying! " Ironically Brawny I have that nightmare every so often. They say you have those dreams when you feel guilty about something you did ( like Luna ) or about something you need to/neglected to do.
That last segment, though. Biggest of OOFs. I'm sorry that your family did that to you. Some families simply do not get it at all. Allowing a relative to run roughshod over either you or other family members isn't helping them, it's just enabling them and hurting everyone else.
Addiction is a monster. The only thought is your next fix. For years, I was an insomniac and became addicted to sleeping pills. I couldn't stand the feeling, the itch, that drove me to beg, borrow, and steal. Sometimes from my family. Sometimes from the store. Mother had pleaded with me. Offered counseling, rehab, anything to make me stop. But I didn't want to. Eventually, she put me out. I may not have wanted to change but she left me no choice. I discovered that people won't change until you give them no other choice. Your parents face the same dilemma. If they continue to hide from it and enable his lifestyle, he'll make that choice for them.
Brawny's dad: "I won't choose between my sons!"
Also Brawny's dad: chooses Buck over Brawny
Nice guy.
Honestly, ...family is important, but if the family takes advantage of that personal bond and tries to use it to herd you into what THEY believe is the right way... you have to decide for yourself if they're worth protecting JUST because "they're family" ...family shouldn't be given a pass when they do something wrong.
Also, YAY! Cameo! Glad to be a part of this :)
^This.
i agree with you family comes first.
"Family needs to stick together, no matter what."

Way to "stick together.," you three.
That last segment tho......yeesh
That last bit was tough to watch
Twilight: "I already know!"
Am I the only one thinking the way Celestia and Luna reacted to Twilight's entrance indicated they partially knew she was gonna do that?
That ending...
Brawny, im so sorry...
In much needed defense towards Brawny, Buck both started and escalated the fight.
THIS!!!
Buck's words to Brawny hit WAY TOO CLOSE to home for me. Brawny, you were 200% in the RIGHT for your actions!!!
I am dude!
IM IN
I'm in as well come on!! Scream with me!! This is for you brawny!
PRINCESSS CELESTIAAAAA!!!!!
I am, but you called his family snow in Spanish. The word you were probably looking for is "naïve". :)

Honeatly that whole thing at the end really tugged at my strings a bit, it makes me so goddamn angry when I see people just trying to actually help, only to have those they once called friends and even family side with the 1s who started the whole argument in the 1st place. It angers me so much when someone tries to help, only to be completely shut down by those trying to help the horrible angry 1s responsible for it all
The parents trying to help but they are enabling both a terrible habit and behavior. I do hope there is a happy ending down the road. ;.;
Came for the fun silly pony episode review, stayed for the family drama 0_0
Holy heck, excellent story-telling, Brawny.
9:49
Ok Jasper Pie is making sense. Shit just got real.
In answer to your question about growing the lavender: Luna's an alicorn, which means she's part earth pony.
Daybreaker is basically the Reverse Nightmare Moon with characterization of villainy that has a good compare and contrast:
- their color designs can be swats with a negative color palettes
- Nightmare Moon is a Redeemed/Reformed villain that Luna became in the past, and Daybreaker is it True Villain as a separate entity of Celestia that she feared of becoming throughout the years to that day.
Wow... that ending was just, wow...
Aye. And if Wilde tries anything, his friends happen to be tougher than some roid headed jerk
Dejay Page amen to that!
Well...that went into a VERY dark direction REAL fast....
Well... That got dark fast....
Yea....i think he need mr.wolf...and a hug
OMG, man I’m so sorry you have been through that. It so sad that your parents don’t want to realize that they hindering and worsening the situation by feeding into his habits and that him attacking you wasn’t enough a wake up call that this needed to be stop.
I started watching your videos because I like the sound of your voice honestly I find it sexy and I hope eventually things work out for you in the future.
"I'm not choosing between my sons, but-"
NO.
When Brawny made that JonTron reference, I laughed so hard!
Edit: also that yeeet! 🤣
He *was* about to do something like that, but his father stopped him.
That wasn't the point of the scene either.
It's a ponification of real life events.
Wow... that last bit riled me up... I probably would have done the same thing.
Betrayed by your family and denied justice. Eh, let them fall. It is clearly misery that they desire.
GOD DAMN. That family fight was terrible, yet amazing. You spoke the truth, and gave some WISDOM. And they made you left!
[ rose walks off ]
[ brawny runs off ]
Brawnys mom: Brawny!!
Galaxy: Brawny come back! [ flies after him tears strolling down face ]
Buck wild: that's right run away I pray I never see you again you'll be s dead colt do you hear me!!
I think Daybreaker is partly Celestia's unintentional doing because of two things:
1: Daybreaker is scarily accurate in being Celestia, except without caring about anyone else. (The way that Celestia is most likely to break/turn evil.)
2: Daybreaker is only banished by Celestia confronting her and affirming that she'll never stop caring/never become Daybreaker, not Starlight facing her fears.
So... mostly Starlight being able to read/understand people, but a little bit of Celestia too.
@@hariman7727 That makes sense
Daybreaker does explain the Ashlands Timeline. If Celestia suffered a brain injury that impaired her judgment and self-control...
I’m glad to have voiced Backboard Buck for his final appearance in this episode of A Buck to the Face. And ShadyOak did quite well as Buck Wilde!
Wait, _final_ appearance? What, does he die later on or something? Because that will be dark.
gokuandmario4ever When Brawny notified me of the Backboard lines for this episode, he asked he if I’d like to voice him “one last time,” so I think he meant that he has nothing more planned for future appearances for his pony parents given the context of this video.
@@JacobMKeeneAKADrPepperKing Okay, just want to be clear on that.
Damn, the ending though
This.....hurt.....on a very deep personal level for me. It’s taking all I have to keep from crying because it’s late night where I am as of watching this. Mom disowned me because of an outsider lying about me, and now she won’t even talk to me without being made to by my dad, who hardly ever talks to me either just to keep the peace.
The one who lied about me has ruined any chance of having any hint of a relationship with my mother again, and dad is happy enough to just play along with it.
I sincerely hope that things get better for you Brawny, because you’re better then what the brother here said about and did to you.
From the way you're describing the issue that woman doesn't sound like a mother. A real mother would love her child unconditionally.
@@leohino9211 unconditional love doesn't mean you turn a blind eye to self destruction, theft, and worse.
I have a feeling the Perfect Pear will hit really close to home after this.
I say celestia brought some of her own subconscious into starlight’s dream. Luna doesn’t do so cause she’s more experienced.
Or Starlight read Luna and Celestia well enough to guess how Celestia would go evil.
@@hariman7727 Or Twilight has told Starlight enough.
Some ponies needed a swift slap in the face at the end of that video. Put it behind us? Families HAVE to stick together?! Buck off with that utterly toxic bulldust! I'm so sad and angry. You're not the only one who is upset by this. If that were my family, I'd disown them and make an appeal to the courts to have my last name changed. 😠
@@williamcrowe2576 Unfortunately for a lot of people, saying that they would do that and actually doing that are two very different things. Cutting ties with family is a very very hard thing to do, even for people who know their families are toxic and unchanging.
@@Zeragamba All the same, they'd become strangers to me. And I wouldn't want anything more to do with them.
I'd talk about how overly dramatic and needlessly dark that end scene was if it weren't for the fact that it's actually really damn common for such a dynamic to develop in a family where abuse is chronic.
I have a question;
WHY THE HELL DOES HE LOSE HIS WINGS?!?!
Frostbite, passed out in a snowbank apparently
It must have been hard to write this into your series. You've always been really strong putting such deep personal life stuff in your videos. Jesus- that end cutscene was BEAUTIFUL

That ending is the point where you go behind your parents' backs and call the police.
THAT'S WHAT I SAID!!!!
As well as smelling Celestia's cake, I scent a "OH GOD THE IMPLICATIONS"
I'm glad that things between me and my brother and my sisters are good, and now I see what would happen if things escalated out of control especially if we continue the fight with each other or our parents.

No I'm with you brawny... If someone in my family started acting that way? I'd be the first to either book it or tell them that they need to stop or that they're not my family anymore.
Thankfully my brother never went down a path like this... but my father did. It was not an easy time for any of us...
It is not a requirement, nor does it automatically constitute it."
This may be me tapping into my hard ball cold hearted side more than I should, but if given a similar circumstance of enablement and blind defending, I would state something along the lines of "He is like an infected limb in this family. I have no say in this because it's not my family anymore." and possibly resist the urge to add "Not that I had any say to begin with."
Or, at least it would be on the list of options, for when it finally escalated to an appropriate point. my own experience of doing so took a long time to finally reach such a point.
Sadly, you've got a LOT to catch up on
I can wait.
I feel like it's better to be behind, because we can still get new content on the earlier seasons... and i guess it keeps the show alive in a way...
9:53 Jasper rule of three if it goes beyond three THEN you hit him for breaking the rule
Ladies and gentlemen this is the very image of dark depression of the night
Luke Skywalker chose to love his father, unworthy as the latter was, and it was what Anakin needed to realize that no, he wasn't too far gone.
Seeing Luna eating that banana peel reminds me of three stooges
Brawny, tell Firebrand to assemble the guard. They have a criminal to arrest and some ponies to give a talking to.
Aside from Firebrand, the guard can't do anything. Better to seek Twilight.
@@MatsuyoRific The Royal Guard is good for one thing: being an obstacle, thus slowing down the baddies.
After the arrest, I suggest they call in Dr. Wolf for some therapy sessions.

That's why Derpy Hooves has the Pink Heart of Courage rather than _guards who OUGHT to have been present at the [yaaaaay] Friendship Festival._
I have; Particularly, one of my canines.
From what I hear it's actually somewhat common nightmare.
I have a nightmare of falling from the stairs
@@Blueflag04 You mean like Peter Griffin?
Had a friend like that. It ended with me having to beat him unconscious, drag him to the hospital and then calling the cops.

You can also have this dream if you grind your teeth in your sleep
“Had a handle on it.”
Vegeta tell me there lying level!
*vegeta breaks scouter* *ITS OVER 9000!!!!!!!!*
That... hit really close to home.... ouch...
*sighs* That ending. Got flashbacks/dealing with the mess of younger sister. Heck, still got the scars from when she attacked me.
I resemble this remark :
Family problems like this are rare, but also more common than it might seem.
*hugs you* your having hugs 😔😟😔😔😔
Your family is awful!
Don't listen to your mean brother.
