In the north you can have dinner after 6.30 pm, in the north after 8.30/9.00 3. I'm italian and just yesterday I ordered a cappuccino at 17:00 in the afternoon, as usual, and for me it has been normal for about 30 years. I live in a mid-size city (that is not a famous "tourist" city, it's not a tourist city at all) and I don't really see this "cappuccino problem" that I find in every video about mistakes to avoid when travelling here in my country.
As italian, my congratulations to this video. Usefull and real tips, not stereotypes. Just one comment. I'm addict to cappuccino and I can order it at any time. I have noticed that in general our bars/cofee shops became more "tollerant and open mind" to serve cappuccino at any time.
Thank you for this very informative video. May I just say that my wife and I frequently have a cappuccino in the afternoon and often after dinner, and so far we have not had any problems. Our is Italian is decent and we try to be courteous and respectful, but I guess we'd be ok with a macchiato if necessary. Thank you again!
Great video and very helpful. We are spending our trip in southern Italy(Naples, Sorrento, Taormina).. since we are using Taormina as a base, what would you suggest we see on the west side of Sicily?
I am looking to visit Italy with my wife in October 3 days in Rome then down to Sorrento and around that area. Would really appreciate any tips. Total time around 7 days. Thanks Mature Traveller
Precious tips, thanks for sharing. See if you can help me with one more tip, I'm booking 2 full days and 3 nights to Cinque Terra from La Zpezia. is a long time? Thank you very much!
Love - LOVE your tips (as always) It always seems the elevators are out of service at the train stations!!! We've learned the hard way! Keep up the great work!
Very good tips!! I Wonder if you have videos on what to do in just one day in each City? We are going on a cruise so we won't have much time, we will be in Rome, Florence and Naples (Italy) and also in a couple of cites in Spain and France
Hello Leslie, thank you for the comment. We have videos for you in our channel. For Rome You can check our latest video about free things to do in Rome. For Naples check our video about Naples day 2 that one shows all the things you can do in the city center just walking around. For Florence we have a walking tour of Florence video that you can watch 😃 let us know if you need any more info
I am enjoying your videos. My sisters and I plan on spending a week in Naples - one day we'll be spending in Atripaldi where our family originated - another we thought we'd take a ferry to Ischia (we've been to Capri) This is a short period of time - can you suggest "must do's" in or Near Naples? We have a hotel in central city so we can walk, as you suggested. Thanks
Thank you so much for your comment, we have several videos about Naples regarding what to do you can check them out here: th-cam.com/play/PLyZG641srtD7P--pl0v3h_4BnPxbOkXsf.html
So having cash is fine but I have never had trouble using a credit or debit bank card..even in small towns...not so sure about that tip....unless you just want gelato or bus tickets
We will be in rome for one week next February. We originally had thought to spend the full week , but as an artist, I'm now considering traveling to Florence for two days. Should we be city hopping? Trying to see Venice as well? As much as we will want to see as much as possible, we also enjoy feeling like we're on vacation...relaxing in restaurants. I'm already overwhelmed by how much there is to see.
Hello Travel Addicts! I am happy I found your videos on Tuscany/ Sienna and Florence! My girlfriend and I are going this April for her birthday and would love some focus tips since I am only in Italy for 10 days. We enjoy Chianti and would love to visit & learn from the best wineries
Thank you so much for your comment. We really loved the wineries in the Montalcino area. In chianti we loved the Ricasoli winery. It is not just a great winery also the castle is beautiful
Hello, thank you for making these type of videos! It's been extremely helpful. :) What recommendations do you have for 3 days in Rome, 3 days in Florence and 2 days in Cinque Terre?
Hello Desiree, we think that 3 days in Rome, 3 in Florence and two in Cinque Terre is a great amount of time. In Cinque Terre you should take the boat in between the villages it is a great way to see them from the ocean. For Rome and Florence you should watch our videos in the channel. We have actually released one few weeks ago about free Attractions in Rome 😃
We are flying into Rome but will stay in Lucca (Cappanori ) from Friday to Friday. We plan to have a car but realize as you already stated that we can't see everything. What would you suggest as an itinerary...we will also have our kids with us but they are good for walking distances. We are also open to the train service for transportation.
From Lucca you are very close to Pisa and Cinque Terre you should definitely consider visiting those two places. Also spend at least a full day in Florence there is a lot to see there and it is one of the most beautiful city in Italy.
Hi, I have been studying Italian for about 6 months ( the more I learn , the more I realize I don’t know!) and plan to rent an apartment in Italy this September. I need a small city on a rail line that is not tourist ridden . A friend suggested Bergamo. Any ideas ?? Grazie Mille.
Hi!! Very nice and informative videos! Thank you! My husband and I are going to Tuscany for 7 days and we are staying in Florence to use as a base. If you have an itinerary recommendations, that would be awesome! We love to be chill and immerse ourselves with the locals. Our plan is to do day trips to nearby towns!
Thank you Alvin 🙏 as day trips from Florence you should try San Geminiano, that is an old medieval town with towers and beautiful hills! Also day trips to the Chianti area is a must try. Check some winery you’ll love it there.
Excellent tips. Love your videos. Two of us plan to visit Italy in Nov for 7 days. Do you recommend us to visit 3 or 4 cities? (3 days rome, 2 days venice, 1 day naples, 1 day florence)
Wonderful video---really enjoy the advice. We are travelling to Italy and have allowed 4 1/2 days at Lake Como. We are staying in the town of Como. Do you have any suggestions for how to spend our days? Thank you so much!!
Greetings from India! Your videos are wonderful! I will b in Rome between 25th to 29th September. We totally agree with ur suggestion that we should avoid touristy shops and touristy restaurants. We want to visit Italy and enjoy what locals enjoy. I plan to see all things u have suggested in ur another video on Rome. I want to know where in the evenings we can seat in open cafes and enjoy authentic food. The best streets for street food. The best place for shopping for family back home. My husband wants to buy a purse .. I want to gift it to him! Nothing prices. We are middle class people. Can u suggest some good places please. Thanks again in advance. Your videos are most authentic and informative.
Thank you so much Poonam, the best area to sit outside for dinner is Trastevere there you can find many authentic restaurant that are not expensive. For shopping you can find good prices in many stores, just avoid those near some landmark.
Hey Guys, Thanks for your great videos , we are visitng Italy & travelling around by train in September (we have been a couple of times before) one question , what is the tipping situation in Italy , restaurants , bars etc ?
Thank you for the amazing helpful tips!. But from your experience, how can I spend 15 days in Italy and covering most cities, which cities are WORTH the visit in those 15 days. Please mind that I will be traveling in March so the weather will be a bit cold. Thanks!
I'm planning to travel to Italy and Florence will be my destination, and from there I'll visit nearby places such as Pisa or other cities of course with a rental car, and after 5 days in the city, I will leave to stay in Milan for 5 days also to visit areas within the Alps and shopping in Milan. Is my plans for this journey are convinced in your opinion. I loved consulting you before Proceeding with the arrangements.
Hello there, thank you for your comment the itinerary is good, five days in Milan might be a bit much but if you are planning to drive around than you’ll love it!
That we don’t really know because we have our own car and we don’t rent one. We think that they offer gps as an optional. But you can use the map app in your phone for that
Thanks for your tips. My wife and I are planning a 10 days trip to Italy. The initial Itinerary is Venezia, Florence, Rome, Naples. I like your suggestion of visiting 3 places , and booking hotels in the center of the city. IF we choose Florence, Rome and Naples, what would be your suggestion for an itinerary?
Thank you so much, Italy is one of my favorite places to travel to :) Does anyone Know if temperary passport is accepted at the boarder to italy? Going there soon and I am not sure if I will recive my passport in time. Thank you
I am traveling to Italy for a wedding in Florence but starting out in Rome. Arriving in Rome 4pm on a Wednesday; what should we do that evening? Thursday we will likely do your Rome in a Day tour. Train to Florence on Friday morning. HELP!!
I never could understand why tourists don't rent a Vespa. Shit I've been all over Rome , l pompeii mount Vesuvius and Capri on a damn Vespa🛵🛵🛵🛵🛵🤣🤙👍🏄♂️
Great tips. One question: I want to follow your advice of not overpacking. But this raises a question: My husband and I enjoy fine dining. I know La Pergola has a dress code, but for most restaurants, can one get away with wearing a nice collared shirt and shorts or capri pants at most restaurants? Thanks!
Hi there, I am traveling to Rome for 3 days on June 2022, with my wife and two boys (teenager) what is your recommendation for must see places. Thank you in advance.
Thanks guys for ur helpful videos. We will visit Italy next week and we have a crazy plan, like visiting 5 cities in 4 days. Thats why we rent a car, to be more flexible. But I have some question for u , Is it allowed to sleep in the car, and if so, are there certain places for it? I have my driving license from Germany, do I have to apply for an international driving license? Thanks 🙏🏼
Hey there! My husband and I are going to travel through Italy on our honeymoon for approximately a week (we have a month total but will be going to other countries). What would you suggest we absolutely see? We enjoy non-touristy experiences too! We have a fluid schedule and nothing planned yet for our September trip. Thank you!
Hey Kayla, Rome, Venice and Florence are always must see and this year you can visit those cities with less tourists than usual. If you have time also visit Siena un Tuscany and Mantova and Verona in the north. You will love them. By the way take a look at our videos about Verona, and the free things to do in Rome for more information 👍🏻
Hello, thank you for this very interesting video. I have never been to Italy but I would love to go. I just have a concern about food, as I am Coeliac so I am allergic to gluten. Do Italian restaurants cater well for this? I would hate to offend anyone by asking for gluten free pizza or pasta, or any other dish.
Hello Audrey, nowadays many restaurants are able to serve gluten free options, even some pizza place are serving delicious gluten free pizzas. Here is a website for you with a list of gluten free restaurants all over Italy www.pizzerieperceliaci.net/
In Florence there is a lot to see and do, you can check out our videos about Florence. In Rome in 3 days you can have a great feel of the amazing city, i would suggest you to watch our Rome for free video to see what are the best attractions and then add the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel
Hello, I plan to go to Italy in September, I’ll stay in hotels in Florence and Milan, I’ve booked hotels near to main train stations in the two cities, can you tell me if it’s safe to leave valuable goods in the hotel and I’ll wander around in the cities so I may only stay in the hotels at nights, my friend said she heard about stories that travelers leave laptop and cashes in the hotel room where they got stolen in Italy.
Hey Colby, thank you for your comment. We have a video on our channel about all the free things you can see and do in Rome th-cam.com/video/mi4co_K-aLo/w-d-xo.html, and also we have a video about free things to do in Naples th-cam.com/video/-ivjidODV5U/w-d-xo.html. Also you can check our video about Rome in 24 hours th-cam.com/video/nNpRz1yGv8I/w-d-xo.html there you can download a map with the best route to reach most of the best attractions. That would be a good start. If you have more questions feel free to ask. 👌

can i ask this cause im planning to visit italy soon but im so anxious cause i got 2 dose of sinopharm vaccine here in dubai. .am i going to quarantine or any restrictions just because of this vaccine?? pls help me and i need some words of advice
Hello Enzo, at the moment you will need one of the EU approved Vaccine (here is the list: www.salute.gov.it/portale/nuovocoronavirus/dettaglioContenutiNuovoCoronavirus.jsp?lingua=english&id=5412&area=nuovoCoronavirus&menu=vuoto&tab=3) and you will need to come from one of the following country: www.salute.gov.it/portale/nuovocoronavirus/dettaglioContenutiNuovoCoronavirus.jsp?lingua=english&id=5412&area=nuovoCoronavirus&menu=vuoto&tab=4
Few people speak english... How many languanges in your country people can speak? Do not think that your school system Is more advanced since you cant Say Two foreign words in a Row.
Is the cappuccino rule more considered ignorant ( of Italian etiquette ) ? I've been to Italy 5 times since 2014 ... and only ONCE did I encounter a local speaking to his barista friend in local dialect , obviously speaking about me . And yes , it was a cappuccino after dark I ordered . To me I just considered it the same arrogant rudeness american's sometimes display to foreigners . I've NEVER gotten even body language grief from an employee of a cafe for ordering cappuccino after noon . Italians understand tourists have different habits . If anything they just find it amusing . At worst , It's far more forgivable than dressing too casual ( obvious tourist ) , in my opinion . .
America is different that's why you find food any time you want. We have, from the other side of the coin, rules. Milk and coffee isn't good for our stomach after noon. For our culture is weird it's like ordering tap water. We are focused in good eating and drinking experiences that's why we tend to avoid changes in that. Just ask to any Italian you know what are our healthy food habit's do and don't. You will see in large part will be for healthy reasons.
@@mistercrisper84 Thank you for your reply ; healthy thinking makes sense to me ! ... ( Healthy habits aren't my principal concern on holiday ) btw I actually prefer bottled water in restaurant ... to tap water that they offer here mostly ... doug in austin , tx ...

You are right about cappuccino in big cities, in small town you still get a look if you order a cappuccino after lunch (At least here in Emilia)

I told my wife not to over pack, no good, then she complained having to drag the bag around Venice and shocked the hotel had no elevator!
Unfortunately a lot of people make the same mistake
Hi there, I am traveling to Rome for 3 days on June 2022, with my wife and two boys (teenager) what is your recommendation for must see places. Thank you in advance.
Definitely the Colosseum kids love that!
Thanks 🙏🏼
Good morning Zana, we are not sure if you can sleep in the car, I’ve never seen that. Driver license from Germany is enough 👍🏻
@@TravelAddictsLife oooh, thank you very much indeed for the info.
what would you suggest as a 3 day itinerary in
florence and thenn 3 days in Rome
We have never ha any problems in hotels. Usually they are extremely safe, as long as they are reputable establishments you will be fine.
@@TravelAddictsLife THANK YOU!

No not at the restaurant
I bet into Autogril while traviling. There are few station servie who make people to use bathroom
How many cities can I see in 10 days in Italy?
Depends which cities you want to see, 4 is a good number
At worst , It's far more forgivable than dressing too casual ( obvious tourist ) , in my opinion .
.
Hello, thank you for the comment. It is just considered weird. Would be like ordering orange juice after dinner in America, that's it. 😃
Viva italiano
Thank you 🙏
My wife won't care about the 1st rule
Does she like tourist traps?
@Travel Addicts Life no she doesn't like to travel light so I guess it would be the first thing suggested.
We have our first trip to Rome and Napoli scheduled this April and I'm horrified I'll be carrying a lot of luggage until we get to each location.
😂😂
Love you gays!!
Thank you 🙏🏻
