Really great tutorial. That was a very good point you made about keeping in mind how a painting looks from a distance because that's where most people will be looking at it.
I remember once seeing a really interesting painting in a restaurant window across the street that really caught my attention one night. I had to cross the street to look in the window at it.
It wasn't realistic really, it was a kind of expressiontic painting of loosely painted figures. But the bright warm colors and especially the contrast of tones with a really strong sense of glowing light to it was very interesting and beautiful from across the street even.

What I have learned today: When you want to blend your clouds, be sure to scrub in the color THIN or you will smear the crap out of everything...Well done!🤗🤗

Great video. Thank you. Do you oil down a new canvas prior to painting ? Whenever I use my blending brush I get a stray brush strand and mess up my spot trying to remove it.

Fantástico. Esta paisagem se parece muito com as paisagens que temos aqui no Brasil. Minas gerais, pra ser mais exato. Grato por compartilhar!

A couple of years ago you posted a cloud formation exercise in acrylics. You should re-post that as well. It was very well done.

Question ? Have been working on a very large landscape with clouds that are in perspective coming towards you and up out of top of view. The last 2 clouds are actually when you look up they are going over head and I'm seeing more of the bottom of cloud.
What would you do to emphasize the bottom of cloud and still give it perspective??
There is less puffs on the bottom of cloud and it has a different look. Every time I painted it flattens out and doesn't look like the bottom of cloud looks like a cloud mistake. 😓
If you do have time I would appreciate any advice.

This is a great tutorial as are all of the test of them. Very insightful and inspiring I enjoy all of them. I had a question. Afew Yeats ago I nelive it was an old barn painting tutorial I really liked the music on that one but I think you changed the songs on the video I was trying to find out one of the songs it is slow song with a girl singing some of the lyrics really pulled at my hart strings some of the lyrics go. Sooner or later it breaks. Thays all that I remember I really loved that song could you please tell me what the name of the song is or the artist so I can find it.

You capture clouds so well! Do you use reference photos, or make it up as you go along?
If you do it would be good to see the reference, and how you translate it.
