  • 👉 This video explains how you can fix/replace and upgrade the rear view reverse backup camera on your Land Rover Range Rover L322. This is a very common failure as the vehicle ages. Replacement camera needs to support PAL and or NTSC format video signal.

Got the same camera from ebay and it came with 2 extra wires on the camera side a white and a green but i figured it out and i was very nervous about cutting the original harness with the coaxial cable but i did it and got the camera to power up

Nice work with this video! Can I send it to you for a camera replacement? Everything is out, and old camera is out of the housing.

Thanks JSF, just got done upgrading mine. For some reason I don't have lines, must not have connected those wires right.

Hello. I like what you’re doing. The only thing that confuses me is when you first cut the wires on the original housing it only has 4 wires 2 blank 1yellow and 1red. Then when you return after cutting the wire on the new camera you have 6 wires. Where did the extra black wires come from

      Hi, thank you for watching/subscribing.
I think you may just be confused on the connections. There are only 4 wires from the vehicle side. The aftermarket camera it self only has 3 wires & runs on 5V. But the vehicle supply(Red wire) is a 12V.
So there is an in line voltage reducer built in to the aftermarket camera wiring which reduces the 12v to 5v for the camera power. The voltage reducer has 4 wires going in but only 3 wires going out to the camera. So its combining the 2 grounds(Blk wires) and using a common ground and 1 black wire going to the camera( 1 red for pwr and yellow/wht for vid).
I only cut the camera wire from the voltage reducer to shorten the length of the wires so it can all fit into the original housing. This is what may have confused you. So there's only 4 wires to connect not six.
Originally I did wire the camera directly to the vehicle wires by combing the blk ground wires(4 to 3 wire connection) & eliminating the voltage reducer. But that supplies 12V directly to the camera and burns the camera right away. That is when I discovered the camera actually runs on 5v, thus the inline voltage reducer is used.
      Hopefully this helps thanks..........

Unfortunately the image zooms to the right when reversing. There is no way to configure it via the screen. The curious thing is that when you test the camera image in the settings it is normal but when you reverse it it zooms slightly to the right as you showed in the video. If you know how to align, please let us know. thank you very much.

im getting stuck on the whole splicing of wires... i know you explained it, but im more of a visual person, wished you had recorded yourself cutting, stripping and splicing what to what. Could you do another video showing that? maybe a drawing?

Ok, try to connect the camera wires to the vehicle wires. You should have the same number of wires. Easy connection right?

What if your L322 doesn’t have a camera?
    How you install the camera?

      Hi, thanks for watching/subscribing.
If you have no rearview camera system at all I would just replace the complete head unit(stereo) with an aftermarket that has a built in set up and just mount the camera above the license plate.

Hello! Have you managed to get that video about setting the right format? As I have changed my camera and when I go to secret menu I have options for Wide 1, Wide 2 and Normal but no matter what I choose when going back in reverse camera changes it’s image to something completely different?

Did you remove literally all from the case ? Or just the cámara ? I see there’s also a board when you remove the cámara, should I maintain that one?

    • @JSFautoPlus
      @JSFautoPlus  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi, thanks for watching/subscribing. Yes everything from the camera housing is removed including the circuit board. All you need is the power and video wires coming in to power the new camera. The new camera has its own circuit board which is integral to the new camera.
