Nice bowl. But why did you make it so hard? You have that huge forstner bit which you could have easily cleaned out the inside then clean up with your router. But that's just me.

I just came across this video and saw that it was done seven years ago. Since then have you made any more bowls and have you thought of changing your plywood jig to plexiglass so you would be able to see what you are doing better? Considering you were fifteen at the time you did a great job!

Splendidly to see Woodglut have new plans which helped me save some money and energy for this construction.

You need to speak up & or not talk while planning or sawing, bro....thank you for doing this video!!!

always spread the glue on the workpiece so you guarantee you don't get any air gaps trapped between the timbers.

Excellent video! Thank you. I really liked the simple approach you take. Some videos for "simple" bowl making are not simple at all! (I could hear you fine by the way.) It would have been good to get a few shots of the finished bowl at the end.

I did something like this a month ago with plans from Stodoys.

The best thing I've found on the net was plans from Stodoys.

Industrious effort. However, do you know about dish carving router bits? These make router bowls a lot easier and don't limit you to round bowls. All you need is a template (round, square, what ever random shape you want) and maybe a collet extension to get deeper. With a dish bit that has an upper bearing, you can even dispense with the template.
Also, you probably can skip about 75% of the footage and show just the important parts. For example, surfacing, thickness planing, glue up and so on aren't that key to your video. I would guess that your video cut down to 1:30 or so would still be clear and probably get a lot more views. As it was, I just skipped along. You video doesn't get interesting until about 2:30.

+phil barrett Thanks for the comment. I didn't know about that router bit I will look into. I might think of uploading a shorter video of this after your comment :)

+WoodworkingFusion Good job. The only thing that I thought was odd, was rubbing on the Danish Oil on a piece of carpet with all of the dust.

I probably should buy a special type of cloth, however I find that it would make little difference to the finished piece

@@solidworkshop4140 the video length is fine. The more detail the better. Some of us don't have too much experience and can use the video(s) to learn. If those viewing want to skim through that's good too...

Hey! Do you think that stuff just grows on trees?! Lol. Nice work. A little more work than needed with a bowl bit, but great use of what you have.
