For anyone curious about plastic: The reason your RPM is higher when tapping is that plastic has a high acceleration when not steering, but no penalty for smooth steering. So tapping steer allows you to maintain "Straight" acceleration to carry speed, but also not slide so much that you get a large penalty. If it makes up for the time lost sliding, it was the right choice. If not, it might be a smooth turn or even a straight (but probably not straight if you have to turn)

Didn't realise the same mechanic existed for plastic when you're just doing a 180. Also the sussage drift set up was handy.

On grass and dirt you know when you're getting or dropping a gear because your car will gear up or down at a given speed, but on ice I don't get the warning sign that I'm about to lose a gear, even the engine sound will not be helpful in anyway since it will be at max rev regardless of your speed when you're counter steering. Can someone please give me a pointer? Oh and before you say so, don't tell me "simple, don't lose the gear"
I think its just dependant on your speed and rpm BEFORE launching the slide, if you've just geared up you're more likely to slide out, if you've been on a gear for a little bit (ideally midway-high midway through the next one) you're less likely to slide out, you need to release as little as possible if you're about to gear down and maybe release a little bit if you're about to gear up but I dont know how it works im just guessing
"simple, don't lose the gear" Jk, if you shift gears in a ice slide (usually down, by decelerating), you'll lose your adherence and slide out. You will have to manage that according to your rpm BEFORE the ice slide
So when we drift on the road surface... When should we let go of the accelerator? Like on ice right you can brake or let go of accelerator to change the drift angle but what about normal drifts? Should I let go before the drift? While braking? Mid drift? Not at all? Lol

Just git gud jk i think wirtual mentioned once that in ice, if your Speed is above than 200 you won't be able to slide out
