Osho idea of commune was a very good idea. He gave detailed explanation about the reason
Summary :
Man's mind is filled with sexual desires. In poor countries like India, man is still struggling for food money shelter and education. So no use in teaching spirituality to such an Indian. So Osho moved to Oregon, US. He said western man lives an affluent life, a life of abundance. He is ready for spirituality. But he is deep in sexual desires. So I provide infinite opportunities to the western man to fulfill his sexual desires, so much that he will get fed up at some point, give up sex totally due to boredom and aversion. Then he will completely surrender to me and follow my advises along the spiritual path
In few videos OSHO spoke about few sanyaasins who did all the above, and transcended the wants and desires and preferences and indulgences of the materialistic life and became like flowers on the spiritual path
In this aspect if we see, OSHO was even more successful than JK
