    I love how you play and your extraordinary skills ... I would love to be able to play the electric bass 6 string

    Dude, I love that sound you make, Barry Greene, I'm going to try hard for a day and I can play it that way too. I'm Brazilian, and I'm always following your videos. Sensational.

    Is it still possible to play like you even without having a chance to go to school for music??i really admire your playing.

      Yes. Some of the greatest musicians of all time had no formal training.

      Absolutely, it’s not like university gives you stuff you can’t find anywhere else. I go to university as a complete beginner in jazz and have to learn stuff elsewhere, university is more for connecting with other musicians and gaining experience rather than gaining new skills and knowledge

    Hey Barry, Big fan here. Just wondering, would you consciously play differently over Oleo as opposed to a different rhythm changes tune? Thanks!

      When playing with live musicians definitely. Playing along with a recorded loop doesn’t lend itself to be creative. Thanks!

    Man, your relative pitch must be near or at 100% fluent! What is the single best thing you did to develop it?

    • @BarryGreene
      @BarryGreene  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Lots of transcribing and always listening and trying to identify what I'm hearing. I'm working on it all day long. Thanks!

      @@BarryGreene GB was an obsessive transcriber and doesn't have perfect pitch. The list goes on and on greats without PP. Great work!

    I don’t understand what it is you’re teaching here. You’re an incredible player but I want your instructional videos and I never know what I’m supposed to be learning.

      What? My website has hundreds of lessons with over 1000 pages of PDF docs. Have a look around before saying something so stupid.
