    Is there actually a way to make a session plan/list of targets and perhaps print it from Sky Safari? This seems more like how and when to find objects rather than planning a night of observing. Good info on using the app but looking for an actual plan making function.

      Hello, Mainuh. Sorry for the delayed reply. I just figure out how to do what you are describing earlier this week. I probably need to make a new video for just that, but I'll describe it here since I'm not sure when I'll have time to record it. Whenever you have an object selected, hit Selection. Near the bottom of that menu you will see an option for Add to Observing List. Hit that and it will show you all of the observing lists you've already created and you can add just by tapping one of them. To create a new observing list, go to Observe and select Observing Lists.
      What can be fun and helpful is if you go into one of the lists and then hit the option for Actions and Settings. There is a slider which allows you to highlight the objects on your main screen. This is also where you go to email the list to yourself. It will have an unusual file designation (.skylist), but it is really only a txt file which you can open with Notepad.
      I will definitely let you know if/when I get a chance to create a video on this.

    How u can move the screen???

      In part of the video I have Sky Safari in Compass Mode. So the screen moves itself wherever I point the phone. Otherwise you can move the screen simply by touching and dragging like on any other touch-screen device.

      Thank you. This was very helpful in explaining what to do with the app.

    Is there way to callibrate the compass in skysafari?

    • @astro151tccc
      @astro151tccc  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. There's no way that I am aware of. However, the horizontal (azimuth) compass bearing is usually pretty good. The challenge for me is always the vertical (altitude). The trick is to focus on where the very center of your screen is pointing. Sometimes I have to turn off or minimize the time window because when it is up, I think the center of the screen is higher up than it actually is.

    What is the skysafari ambient song called when you are in the app i really need the name

      Good question. I'm not sure which one you are hearing, but you can change the ambient music or turn it off, if you want. Go to Settings->Appearance&Behavior->Ambient Sound. There are several options for ambient sound there.

    Is there a way to turn off text in the display?

    • @astro151tccc
      @astro151tccc  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you mean the names of the constellations and planets? Yes. Go to Settings -> Solar System and uncheck all of the "with names" boxes/sliders. Same thing for constellations (Settings -> Constellations).

      @@astro151tccc Thanks, maybe I was getting this app confused with the Moon Globe app in which you can easily toggle text on and off.

    Support for this app sucks!! How do you hide the UI? How you hide the orbit tracks?? i can't find anything on google about it and can't contact the devs...yeah this sucks... I choose to view the andromeda galaxy and it zooms to a black screen... wow this sucks ass!!

      SS7 is very different in appearance from SS6. I did a tutorial specifically on SS7 which might be helpful (sorry to simply be pointing you to another video). The UI in the new version was a little annoying, but I think I covered how to customize it (and hide a bunch) in the new tutorial: th-cam.com/video/x6XONVNMat4/w-d-xo.html
      Hope it helps!

      @@astro151tccc Thank you, I just watched it. Unfortunately it is not yet available for Android. I'll purchase Sky Safari 6 instead.
