    For as long as I can remember we've never used tap water for drinking at our house. Since 2008 when we moved to Harare it's always been bottled water or those refills at PNP.
    And that thing about some people being used to it and your tummy not being able to take it in because you'll fall sick is so real guys and it's always so awks telling people I don't take tap water because it's like unovhaira yet the struggle is actually real 😂😂
    But luckily I have a friend who completely understands this and he always has bottled water for me whenever I visit because he knows I can't and won't take tap water to drink.

      🤣🤣🤣 The other day, we went to the pharmacy and explained that our granny had an upset stomach and we suspected tap water…. And the pharmacist said ‘ah, ko what’s wrong with tap water?’
      🤣🤣🤣 I just remembered to not drink water at anyone’s house if I’m not sure.
      If you’ve lived in Zim long enough, you can even smell tap water 🤣 kuti mmmmm DANGEROUS. Because it has this ka funny smell also 😂

    How is the education system in Zim? Especially Tertiary education. Which are the best universities?

    • @benedictkunaka
      @benedictkunaka 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Education in Zim is pretty okay in Private Schools run by Trusts. Government schools have really gone to the dogs. University is pretty subjective depending on what you’re majoring in. But yea there is a big gap between the teaching model and what’s in the ground. Mostly students are put through employment-friendly training, only to find a chosen few getting access to employment. The Zimbabwean terrain is better suited for entrepreneurial oriented education which is not offered in most curriculums at most educational institutions. Briefly that’s how it is on the ground.

      I think the best uni for someone depends on the program they want to major in.
      Science related stuff, I think NUST. (Bulawayo)
      Not too sure what U.Z is renowned for, but a lot of people like it. (Harare)
      A.U is a private uni but not too sure what they’re particularly great at. (Mutare)
      Just mentioned a few.

      🤣🤣🤣 do you have an idea of how ANNOYING it is to buy 1GB worth of data for $1.50 for an hour, and then your network slows down?????🤣🙌🏾 data in Zim doesn’t support insta scrolling when you’re not at home on WiFi 🙌🏾😂

    Was making friends hard after coming back?

    • @nyashathandi
      @nyashathandi  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Moira,
      I haven’t been one to keep many friends so I didn’t quite struggle. I had 1 close lady friend who was around, and 1 male friend who later turned into my husband 😹.
      I had 2 other friends who came back home around the same time that I did, so that helped too.
      But adding to that circle isn’t as easy as making friends in high school. One can make friends, but you just have to sieve, because as an adult, you really don’t know what people in your life are after.
      Not too sure if this answers you entirely, but I hope it somewhat helps.

    Kana uine mari yako data is cheap😂. Promote your country rather than slander it. Surely data can’t be expensive for people coming from diaspora. Only you can make Zimbabwe great

    • @nyashathandi
      @nyashathandi  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      No one is slandering Zimbabwe 😫😫 if this is how you took it, you got it wrong.
      Also, as a person who had to resettle in Zim, data in Zim is unreasonably expensive. $10 for 5GB, is expensive, everywhere. Because it’s JUST DATA, nothing fancy there.
      Fact check before saying much 😉

    • @zellemaleek
      @zellemaleek 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't currently stay in Zimbabwe and whenever I travel back home for the holidays I always complain about data prices even though yes I can afford it because why should I be paying more for something I can pay less for? Simply because you are able to pay for something doesn't mean it should be unreasonably expensive. Like at the end of the day as Thandi said it's just data, nothing special about it.
      I also don't see where they slandered Zimbabwe. This is an awareness video.
      And lastly "only you can make Zimbabwe great" is actually easier said than done to be honest.
      But hey, love & light sis

    • @nyashathandi
      @nyashathandi  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think the problem is people find it hard to separate facts from opinions… and if it’s a fact contrary to what they’d like to hear, it becomes ‘slander’. Sadly that’s not how the world works!
      And I can totally relate!!!!! I’d always complain about data when I came to Zim for holidays, because it was just unreasonably expensive. WiFi recharging is expensive, mobile data is expensive. And it just doesn’t make sense, given the slow speeds 😩😩😩
      Internet connection is made to seem like a luxury in Zim, when in actual fact, it is necessary for economic development to be possible. Why should data be expensive? Any Person who’s lived in a normal economy knows that data is NOT EXPENSIVE.
      And I totally agree!!!!!! Just because you can pay for it doesn’t mean you should pay more than what’s realistic.
      Chete in Zim, if you’re able to buy data, you feel like you’ve achieved a lot in this life 🤣🤣🤣 Small things are BIG WINS in Zim!

    • @taylortee8474
      @taylortee8474 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Mentioning the ridiculous data prices is not slander it’s just a well known fact. Data inodhura kuZim.
