All of your blankets look fabulous! I also have a jellyroll blanket going and love that I use all of the yarn up. I put my colors in order of my projects so there is no thought process, made it long enough to cover a bed but can turn it sideways if I decide I want it bigger later. And I moved to Seattle area specifically because I don't like sun or heat. I feel ya girl.
I can't believe my ears!!! 😲. The same for me, I don't like the heat and the blazing sun. I can't believe that I found a soul mate. 🥰Everyone around me dreams of summer (I live in Quebec, Canada) and I dream that the summer starts as late as possible. Sometimes, in conversations, I feel embarrassed to admit that I don't like summer and that I spend all the time in the air conditioning. Your blankets are beautiful and it reminds me that winter is coming.🤣🤣🤣❄❄❄
I love all of the blanket especially the idea you have for your daughters blanket! I swear hearing you talk about the jelly roll was like you were reading my thoughts out loud for the class lol - I have the same issues! I like your solution and maybe I will give it a shot.
Hahaha i love that. I'm glad I'm not alone - you certainly are not! I hope my solution works out for you too. It was seriously such a game changer for me. Cheers!
I just discovered your channel, and it is a new favorite for sure! Thanks for the great content, honest thoughts, and for being real. You're so relatable, and your projects are so beautiful, and similar to what I enjoy making, so it really inspires me. I watched your Musselbourgh episode, and I had the exact same problem as you with guage on my first three attempts with that pattern, and I think I've finally figured out the right sizing for me; I was glad to know I wasn't alone in my struggle with the pattern!
loved all your blankets. I identified with your struggle of worrying about exact sizes, etc., and just the mental energy too much decision making can take. The only thing that has stopped me from starting a scrappy blanket is my anxiety over color placements.
ahhhh the anxiety is so real!! i think i really needed to see someone (like the crazy sock lady) model the carefreeness about color placement in order for me to finally feel okay about it... but eekk! i feel you for sure!
I love modular projects too! Currently i'm really into tunisian crochet (i'm a crocheter and knitter but more of a crocheter) and i've been making the Pilson blanket by toni lipsey. And it's modular! The best thing is I don't have to join a bunch of squares all at the end or learn a complicated joining technique, like with some other crochet square blankets. And it's a super good intro to tunisian crochet.
Ooh how fun! I totally respect the talented tunisian crocheters out there - y'all seriously make some of the most beautiful things. I have had the "Honeycomb Ripple Blanket" tunisian crochet blanket pattern in my Ravelry library for YEARS but for whatever reason... my hands can't seem to get into it. Maybe i'll need to start with something modular like the Pilson blanket!
I remember you making your daughter's school blanket! How lovely that you've been able to add to it so she can carry on using it. I love all of your blankets, but the jelly roll one has stolen my heart. I need to make one! I currently have a Triangulum blanket by Ellie Jones of Craft House Magic in hibernation - it's a good one to try if you'd like something a little different. Keep on with the unedited videos, it's much more natural!
awww hello and welcome back! i totally looked up the Triangulum blanket and purchased it. It looks sooo so beautiful. the only thing is that it looks like it's worked in DPNs... dare I give it a try again just to make this blanket...?!?! we shall see... haha either way, thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment. i appreciate you!
hahaha I thought about it... but I honestly don't know what I would write up! There are literally no finished dimensions... no real "directions"... I'm hoping that the notes on my Ravelry page is enough to get anyone going if they are interested too. :P I appreciate your support though - you are the best, Sammmmm
I totally relate to doing a project that is not «weather appropriate» (if that is a thing! ). I am currently making the Winter Olympic of 94 Lillehammer sweater. I was influence by Florence (from Handmade by Florence) and had to cast that on. Found the pattern in Norwegian (that I don't speak at all), used Google translate and just started. Absolutely love this project - it's just a big tube to knit - even in the blazing summer heat! Moral of this story : if it's fun, why not do it 😅
Love the grow with me blanket. I would like to make a dk weight jelly roll blanket, but how to wash it is stopping me. My scraps are all mixed. And I worry that some super wash yarns still might not be able to be dried in the dryer.
oooh that's a good point. i have not mixed my superwash and non-superwash yarns into my blankets for that very reason. i do plan to throw my blanket in a bath and then spin it in the washer before laying it out to dry. buuuttt... now that I'm thinking about it, I don't know if I have a space big enough for my blanket to lay out flat. haha! hmm.. i guess i'll cross that bridge when I get to it.. haha!
I had to pause working on blankets. When they lay on my lap I get sooo hot in about two minutes, and I don't want to handle a sweat-drenched blanket, yuk 😅
HAHA totally fair. I am 100% aware that what I'm doing is weirdo behavior. (I am very thankful that I haven't been sweating into my blankets though. Lol that would be a big NO from me too)
Oh my goodness. I envision your daughter’s blanket growing as she grows, adding as you make memories, going to college with her and beyond. So cute.
Yesss that's exactly the vision I have..
I was so happy to see you pop up with a new video! Thanks for sharing and I'm so excited to do modular blankets along with you :)
Love all your blankets! The grow with me blanket is awesome!! Seems I always have a couple of blankets to work on between other projects.
All of your blankets look fabulous! I also have a jellyroll blanket going and love that I use all of the yarn up. I put my colors in order of my projects so there is no thought process, made it long enough to cover a bed but can turn it sideways if I decide I want it bigger later.

So many great ideas for using up scraps! Thanks for sharing, Eunice =)
You are so welcome! :) Thanks, Alice!
Your blankets look amazing. 🧶 Love the colors!
Thank you so much!

Lol omg. I freaking love that. YES! "If it's fun, why not do it." I need to get that on a sticker or something... haha!
