To those who does not understand the importance of Libya under Gaddafi back then. Libya was the only country able to make African nations shake each other’s hands in order to work towards a common African goal.
The current coup’s and military issues in Northwestern Africa would not be occurring right now if Libya had been under Gaddafi all this time by actually providing many African nations economic growth, and a stable financial system that aimed to challenge the EU’s dominance over Africa.
The West has been trying to keep Africa unstable and poor to this day because of their great potential.

I stopped watching mainstream tv in 2016 because I was sick of the bias, and of watching repeats! I take your point about brainwashing, which I think is now a worldwide problem (the real pandemic, in fact). Mr. Mugabe was always portrayed as a tyrant and as a reactionary in the mainstream British media, and I swallowed it. I never thought about it again until I saw the above speech, which has impressed me most favourably, and made me think again about him. He was absolutely right about the roles of America and NATO, and the destabilizing effect on the Islamic world. And now, thanks to NATO and a power-hungry EU, we have Russia invading Ukraine, after extreme provocation, yet the West acts with utter incredulity! For a number of years now, I've believed that David Icke is right, that the world is governed by a hidden elite. When you look at the confused state of the world, the constant warfare, and the way the West continues to play kingmaker in the East, it's the only theory that makes sense.

I have no respect for anyone picking out objects from other people's eyes while he don't even recognize the objects that blind his own eyes. His hatred for other races blinded his own eyes that he didn't even see that he was busy killing, oppressing and abusing his own people, using their money to starve them and killed them with worse desease HIV that killed around a million, and did nothing until they brought it to SA. He cannot criticize anyone because his sick intelligence destroyed and ravaged his country and still do beyond his grave. Now his people are paying the price of his own stupid kind of political idea and agenda. I'm sorry for disliking him, he didn't just let his people suffer, he let SA suffer too ever since he became a god of that country. He used SAn government for his own luxury by blackmailing them for tiny help rendered for a little time needed at that time. He had seven degrees that don't show at all, as his people trusted them when they elected him. He and his wife are the worst enemies of the poor even if they are afraid to say so. I believe actions are louder than words here.
Every time I hear him talking reminds me how many times my parents used keep clothes, blankets food and even money ready for Zimbabwe people used come seeking and jobs, and my parents will give them. I got married and I followed their steps too.
They were selling their handwork, and I bought them though I didn't need them because they were different people selling and I had to support their products. Some women will come to my place to rest afterwards. And I got to prepare for their coming. And I used to cook a pot full of food knowing that they'll be tired and hungry. They got used to that I got loving hosting them. They became my friends some of them especially older ladies who were more appreciative than younger ones. I had a family from Zimbabwe who were keeping a informal house in the neighborhood good people at the time. I got the house I was waiting for and the old one I gave it to that family with most of its furniture. That was a clean break for me for all those visitors though I missed them sometimes. But what I didn't know was that I got knew ones, now from Zim, Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya and Egypt. And I introduced them to my new friends in my new neighborhood, and asked them to help supporting them and they did, until Soweto people gave them their shops , and they were really supportive up the point of they got rich and brought all their friends and families to SA to be with them. But now they forget how it started. I can't forget the one lady I supported every day with everything. He looked for me and forced the Zims I gave the place free, to tell where I lived. To my surprise she wanted to give me a best beautiful present no one could take that much time doing it. It was a queen size crotched orange bedspread, with two standard pillow cases and continentals. Nobody had ever given me such an art so beautiful and it wasn't just orange but was exquisitely chosen color that everyone was asking where it was bought. She told me that she was retiring from her work of traveling because her duty now was her sick and old husband. He needed all her attention.
He to thanke me personally for all the assistance I gave to all her people coming to my house, they told her. And she gave me her Zimbabwe address and told me anything I might need when I visit oneday in Zimbabwe. I must consider her as my own mother as she was older than me and she blessed me on behalf of everyone coming to my home and my country. And that SA must never go hungry no matter what the circumstances will become. I was never so grateful and happy to be honored that way, because I was unaware of my kindness to others. I have all those traders all the time until I was blessed with a boy of 16 years from Zimbabwe, who had no idea why he was leaving his country so young could be a problem for him. He 16 when he came to my house looking for a job. I gave him a job just sweeping the yard. But I wanted to make him my son and take him to school. He couldn't get a class without birth certificate or any documentation of where he is from. But I helped him up to the time he could stand on his own at 22 years, and he got new Zim friends whom they led him astray until I he was arrested somewhere and his cousin warned me not to look for him, because he was now in criminality with his friends. I hated their president for thinking less of his people and his right to judge Gaddafi.
Just as I hate what our leaders do to South Africans right now. They does not know that it was SAns who first welcomed the African nationals and helped them, hiding the illegal ones from the police. But today we dislike these African governments for using our government against us by failing or refusing to do their job of taking care of their own people in their countries. I HAVE NO RESPECT FOR THE MAN.

      He was complicated.
On one hand he did fight to liberate his homeland and people from a regime that openly did not give a crap about them or their interests.
Rhodesia was literally a uppity hold over from British colonial rule who basically saw native Zimbabweans as perpetual children who needed eternal rule from a white minority class.
They never had any intentions of letting go of power so they never intended to teach the natives how to rule what the called a modern government.
Robert and many others basically said "its now or never" and did what was for the good of the native population.
Its why to many westerners shock that he still has plenty of support in Zimbabwe and to those who know about his early history.
That all being said he was good for a couple of years but he began to become a dictator and was very heavy handed when it came to decent.
Not only that he did a lot of mismanagement and did noting to curb the rampant corrupt that plagued his regime.
It sucks because you have Rhodesia restorationists basically saying "see this is why you do not let blacks hold power. Rhodesia was the breadbasket of africa(as if the black population got enjoy anything)but now its garbage. Maybe we should go back to how things were".
They fail to understand if things were done their way it would just go full circle the natives would get pissed and another Mugabe would rise up.

As an African, we cannot and should not put all the blame on western countries; in pursuit of power and blinded my greed, it's commonplace for us to 'sell' our countries out; we invite or rather are used by these foreign forces - who invariably infest our countries through our own opposition leaders. It's time we realised that these western hegemonies are self serving and do not care about us. Our leaders might not serve in our best interest but to think a stranger will, is a miscalculation of epic proportions. Let us learn to solve our problems internally as nations without relying on foreigners. In all these countries where the West have committed untold suffering, an insider/national has let them in. They might provide you with all the guns and military support against your opponent but in the end, it's your people who will be on the receiving end.

The protracted economic and political crisis in Zimbabwe led directly to a major increase in mixed migration flows to South Africa. Migrants were drawn from every sector of society, all education and skill levels, equal numbers of both sexes, and all ages (including unaccompanied child migration). More than a million Zimbabweans now reside in South Africa after Mugabe fucked Zim up so badly people run from it...

@Seeker Ray You sound quite uneducated to me. I lived in Tanzania when Magufoolish was president and he was as dangerous and dumb as imaginable. All East African leaders hated him because he was ignorant and arrogant, he messed up the East African Union and single currency. He was called the bulldozer because he bashed down poor people's homes and sent simple lowly politicians to jail for corruption while protecting his CCM leaders. No Mr stupid Ray, he was a horrible human and the dumb peasant prayed covid out of Tanzania and eventually caught the virus from his ministers. The best thing Magufoolish and Mugaapie did for their countries was to die.

I grew up in Nigeria in the 1960s and 70s, and witnessed Nigeria's political, moral, material and financial aid to Zimbabwe's liberation struggle.
I now live in USA and met some Zimbabwe tourists.
Told them about my Nigerian roots.
A woman among them tourists told me Zimbabwe people don't trust Nigeria.
      Total ingratitude at it's worst.
I did give her a quick history lesson.
Nigeria is a major reason that S Rhodesia transformed into Zimbabwe.
And, by that virtue, NIGERIA IS A MAJOR REASON THAT MUGABE IS ADDRESSING THE UNO and not sitting in Ian Smith's prison
