@TechieXP: For the record, Tyler married a "white mate" long before she "got money". She describes him as her "college sweetheart". She was 22 at the time and had just graduated from Dartmouth with a degree in Political Science, minor in Environmental Policy. Also, her ethnic heritage is both African and Native American.
Okay, seriously - She is VERY funny. This performance doesn't exactly do her justice, but she is a VERY funny woman! People are saying, "Ugh, she's going to ruin Whose Line!" Seriously, people are only complaining because it's different. People will complain about anything if something changes, and they'll blame it on the new person. She will be a great successor to Drew Carey, so if people are going to talk badly about her, then you don't have to watch the new Whose Line!
You got it backwards. The British dude, whose name is Clive Anderson, was the first host of whose line is it anyway. Whose line was originally a British improv show which was more along the lines of a game show than an actual comedy show, and back then, the points did matter. Eventually the show was brought to America with Drew hosting it, and he changed things up so that it was less of a game show and more of a comedy show, and only kept the points to show how they don't matter.
I don't want to denigrate Drew Carey. I liked him on Whose Line. But most of the time, his greatest moments were when he laughed out of control at what the other performers did. And that's AWESOME. It always made the scenes that much funnier. But we haven't seen Ms. Tyler in her new job yet. Could be that she's really, really good at it and we won't miss Drew at all. Plus, I have a feeling that Drew will be making appearances on the new Whose Line anyway.
Thats whats up! Keep the positive energy, be ready for change because you can't get what you already have had, so you gotta deal with the new stuff. And do it the best way possible
New Whose Line will be interesting. They made fun of Clive Anderson during a majority of his ten-year reign, so it's possible. Just.. give her time to sit in the role. I was not a big fan of Drew as a host, however I do believe in giving credit where it's due. His laughter is contagious, and for a show like this, that helped. I just hope they don't make her play some games like Drew did. I never liked the idea of the host doing more than hosting. But we'll find out in July.
on Google i searched "aisha themusicage" and was able to watch her funniest stand up routines in HD and even saw some of her fully exposed pictures all for FREE on TheMusicAge website...
if you are one of those concerned because you didn't find her funny, remember that Drew had a writer on whose line to help with jokes. Aisha will too. She's gonna be fine.
Clive never returned to Whose Line. He did a one-off thing in 2011 for Comic Relief or something, but nothing else. And that was in UK. Clive never hosted the American version. The closest thing to that he did was the final British season, in 1998, taped in Hollywood. Clive Anderson never hosted the American version of Whose Line.
I think different people have different senses of what they think is funny, so obviously people might not find one person funny but other people might think they are hilarious, its all relative.
Different strokes for different folks. I hold the opinion that Clive was the superior host. (And the British version was on the air longer, and received more awards....) We'll know how well Aisha Tyler does in July. It'll be hard not to compare her to her predecessors (be it Drew or Clive.) She needs to make the role her own. Drew and Clive were different hosts, both decent in their own ways. There will always be comparisons to her predecessors, like how Drew will be compared to Bob Barker.
Can I? Nina Contini, Ellen Degeneres, Tina Fey, Janeane Garofalo, Sara Silveram, Elvira Kurt, Amy Poehler, Roseanne Barr, Rosie O'Donnell, Whoopi Goldberg, Wanda Sykes Hm, I guess that was more than five.
Yeah. She's not as bad as I thought. The focus was never on the host, anyway. Drew only had his moments during the intro, before/after commercial breaks, before/after games, and the final game. He was involved but he was never the center of attention like the rest of the cast was.
I understand where you're coming from, but I would give her a break. I mean, she did just start on the show. You can't just take over a show and start running it your way immediately. You need to build yourself up with the show before you can really let yourself branch out. It is just the beginning. I would just give her some more time to adjust to Whose Line.
I think it's too soon to tell. Whose Line is a whole different thing than stand up. And she'll be hosting, so she's not going to have to do all that much. It was a running joke among the cast during the entire run of the series that Drew really wasn't necessary. He just sat behind the desk and read the cards. Yeah, yeah, I know he did more than that. But really, how many of the greatest moments of the series were great because of Drew. A few. Not most of them.
No actually I blame it on her. She is too wooden on the show. It is very obvious she is reading from cue cards. At times her voice drops to a very annoying Roseann Barr sound. Not sure if she is trying to hard or if she just can't relax.
I knew Aisha Tyler did the voice of Lana Kane. I had no idea she did standup and that she was this funny. She's Amazing.
Lana... Lana... Lana...
LANAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
...danger zone XD

Really happy (relieved even) with her hosting the new Whose Line series. She seems like a funny, intelligent and unaffected woman.
She's worthy. I've heard her on the Carolla podcasts for years and she's fucking sharp, and funny.
And oh my god, photogenic.
This is the 1st female stand up I've heard where she doesn't talk about periods and boyfriends. bravo!
There's gonna be a new Whose Line series? I must've been living under a rock.
Okay, seriously - She is VERY funny. This performance doesn't exactly do her justice, but she is a VERY funny woman!

She's so gorgouse, i always been a fan of hers since the dating show she used too host. LOVE HER!!!

I like her style, her sense of humor, and i think she just might be good for the job.

beauty, brains, witty, and cool as hell.
She is going to be the new host of Whose Line? Really? They couldn't find anyone better?
Can't wait to see Aisha Tyler hosting the new Whose Line Is It Anyway (if the rumours are true)
Clive Anderson hosted the show from 1988-1998. Drew hosted from 1998-2006. "The British dude" hosted long before Drew came along.
Thats whats up! Keep the positive energy, be ready for change because you can't get what you already have had, so you gotta deal with the new stuff. And do it the best way possible
Thank you! You are awesome! :D
So when does the stand up start?
The last joke kinda saved the video
can't believe she's 43
plus last time i checked the hosts of whose line don't do the improvisations. it's the other 3 comedians.

Hahaha. You nailed it!

Holy shit, I had no idea this was Lana. Now the top comment makes sense

lol, Lana and Luna from Archer and Boondocks
I only saw her on the fourth season of 24, so I'm checking this video to have an idea of how Whose Line will work with her.
Joel's great, but the Soup isn't the same without Aisha! Used to stay up til' 1 a.m. to watch it before TiVo came out, lol.
I love Aisha!
She will now be known for hosting Who's line is it anyway?
DANGER ZONE!
You gotta admit, the spanking bit worked.
that's entertaining both humorously and sexually
Omg, she was the killer kung-fu wolf bitch!
damn. she is beautiful!!
on Google i searched "aisha themusicage" and was able to watch her funniest stand up routines in HD and even saw some of her fully exposed pictures all for FREE on TheMusicAge website...
ayesha is my favourite thing
if you are one of those concerned because you didn't find her funny, remember that Drew had a writer on whose line to help with jokes. Aisha will too. She's gonna be fine.
ha. ha. ha. ... she was the host, she wasn't supposed to tell jokes anyway lol.
she was also Luna from the boondocks
hahahaha,dude you just... XD
thank you
Man she's tall. I saw Death Sentence with her and Kevin Bacon and she made him look short. He's 5'10.

omg I thought I was the only one. Man, was I off. xD
ha ha love the point she made on black racism.
Different strokes for different folks. I hold the opinion that Clive was the superior host. (And the British version was on the air longer, and received more awards....)

lol many of those are very questionable, but to each their own.
Don't beat yourself up, it was only recently announced.
shes like the black charlie theron, shes hot!
Can I? Nina Contini, Ellen Degeneres, Tina Fey, Janeane Garofalo, Sara Silveram, Elvira Kurt, Amy Poehler, Roseanne Barr, Rosie O'Donnell, Whoopi Goldberg, Wanda Sykes
Hm, I guess that was more than five.

Yeah. She's not as bad as I thought.

Oh, oh.
Sorry, I haven't actually seen Tropic Thunder.
Sorry about that, dude. :D

You don't know yet... She might do the work
She is of both African American and Native American descent.
i guess you're right

No actually I blame it on her. She is too wooden on the show. It is very obvious she is reading from cue cards. At times her voice drops to a very annoying Roseann Barr sound. Not sure if she is trying to hard or if she just can't relax.
Danga Zone!
