April 1, 2022---Gotta wonder, how many modelers out there have stashes of kits they bought years ago, but haven't built? Got into modeling in '74 when I returned to the states from Panama bought both kits shortly afterwards......and they still sit in the shed with LOTS of other kits, unbuilt. Thanks for the video.

Another Old, bald, fat man here. Many of us in the club have huge stashes. Or President passed away and left , what we conservatively estimate, a stash of well over 30,000 kits. It filled a two car garage floor to ceiling, 2 10x20 storage sheds and part of his house.

@@MajorDisappointmentModels Oh shit....and I THOUGHT I had a good stash. Quit building about 20 years ago because of stuff happening in my life. This was when I had basically 1,500 unbuilt kits which I kept track of via my computer. So if I needed something, I'd look it up by whatever cardboard box the kit would be in. And let's not talk about decals and reference material. As it is, gave away a couple hundred modeling/history/ airplane magazines to local VA Hospital, plus 15-20 cardboard, office boxes of paperbacks.
But got back into modeling because I wondered if anyone was building zombie/apocalypse dioramas and boy, was I surprised what I found on YT and Google and I eagerly jumped back into modeling. I'm going for REALISTIC(?) dioramas, NO Mad Max stuff. I'll be using a lot of my American WW 2, etc. vehicles, and figures from that time period onwards. However, it is a pita in converting military figures into civilians/survivors and of course, zombies. Which has led me to buying around 500 more kits, figures and weapon sets.
There's a lot of stuff not available as kits such as kitchen sinks, children's toys, etc. such bought 2 resin printers and have downloaded 6-7K worth of useful things, including weapons such as single barrel, double barrel and pump shotguns, lever action rifles as not everyone's going to be toting AR-15's & AK-47's.
In way, I'm like the red headed step-child at Reno High Rollers because of my new interest. However, EVERY-ONE is interested in how I'm coming up with and doing things. Like decals which I'll use as tile, a scratch built modern day gas pump which I've made a silicone copy of, then cast in resin. Got covid last year and hope to start bringing out stuff I've resin printed and figure the car guys might be interested in having jack stands, cherry pickers, etc. in 1/24 or 1/25 scale.

@@oldbaldfatman2766 I know minimart has several zombie figure kits. I got back into modeling after a 30 year break and in 8 years I got about 1500 in the stash. Like you I track them with an Excel spread sheet.

The late kits have nice flaps compared to the new tool that came out in 2017.. maybe some mods with new tool would be nice.
