And what is AI?
Artificial intelligence is the intelligence of machines or software, as opposed to the intelligence of living beings, primarily of humans. It is a field of study in computer science that develops and studies intelligent machines.
And what is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is a chatbot developed by OpenAI and launched on November 30, 2022. Based on a large language model, it enables users to refine and steer a conversation towards a desired length, format, style, level of detail, and language
What is UDIO AI?
Discover, create, and share music with the world. Use the latest technology to create AI music in seconds.
Udio is a generative artificial intelligence model that can produce music based on user prompts. It was released publicly in its beta version on April 10, 2024.
What is SUNO AI?
We are building a future where anyone can make great music. No instrument needed, just imagination. From your mind to music.
You've heard about AI image generators like Dall-E that can whip up photorealistic pics from simple text prompts. Well, now there's an AI called Suno (yes, it's the Hindi word) that can compose entirely original music tracks complete with vocals and lyrics, just by describing the vibe you're going for.

alright ill check it out, seems like its starting to get good, vocals are still really weird, but i'll try it out in my workflow. although i mostly right orchestra and more instrument only oriented music.
At least its worth a try! And the vocals are a bit of hit or miss, so most of the time you just need to keep regenerating. Sometimes its grainy and distorted, sometimes almost perfect. That's current gen AI for you haha
As a musician, I am amazed at the technology, and appalled at people's laziness and youtuber's disregard for the effort, skill, soul, blood, sweat and tears it takes to create music. AI music is a fad, and typing some shit into a website doesn't make you a creator, it just makes you a slave to the AI techbros. So tired of this bs.
Speaking facts here.
“Real” songwriters, composers etc. will probably not use this as is. However it’s here to stay and hopefully as you point out, AI didn’t create the music, it went to already existing music and stole a little here and there and like a DJ, scrambled it together. So it is absolutely possible for another AI copyright bot, to find out what it took and from which artists. After this and maybe with some better tweaks to actually incorporate a clever AI assistant into your DAW, that eg can arrange, transcribe, shuffle beats, tell you why mixolydian bass line doesn’t work in your 12 bar blues song etc. Then I see a future in the music industry. Right now it’s a toy.
First of all, I've not seen anyone disregard effort and skill. Most AI enthusiasts can and will still appreciate stuff made by humans.
Second, the music industry has been using computer aided stuff for years. From synthesizers that can mimic different instruments to autotune. In both cases you could make the same complaint "learn how to actually play the instrument instead of pressing buttons" or "learn how to sing". And in all fairness, I have seen some people make these complaints. But I've not nearly seen the amount of hate this gets compared to AI.
Third, nobody owes you any regard. And you're certainly not making it easier to get any by being hostile towards people for liking an additional way to create. A proper creator in my opinion looks at a new tool and gets excited for what can be made with it.
Being honest, "Real creators" have nothing to worry about, at least at the current version of AI, as in the LLM tech they use. Ai can only ever be as good as the average of everything there already is, as that is how the tech works, meaning that if you are above average, your quality will beat Ai in every way there is.
@@ai-with-denis I'll do you one better. An above average musician, with AI tools. Anything an amateur can make with AI, and expert should be able to make better. I dabble in AI pictures a bit. But because of my background in game development, I have a basic understanding of art and art tools. Even that basic understanding sets my AI stuff aside from AI stuff made by people with no such skill and understanding.
The song lyrics are proper shit though, right? Am I the only one hearin' this?
I mean, they have been generated in the blink of an eye. It won't get you all the way there yet, but just you wait, as the saying goes "This is the worst it will ever be" so expect HUGE improvements over the next months!
Bro think about the future not today
Udio is actually great at writing lyrics. Id say Chat GPT tends to the cheesy simple rhyme side as does Suno... but the Udio AI is actually really good. Makes interesting choices and is often very lyrical. Ive started doing generations in udio and even if I dont like the particular take... Ill copy the lyrics... re order them and generate a new part... works out great.
I've been using it myself and I can make drum and bass like I want to produce myself but I just don't have the experience and knowledge to express the ideas I have.
Music production has a lot of steps to it, so don't stress about it too much. You can easily improve your skills through AI tools though. ChatGPT can give you a few lessons! If you really want it, you'll get there don't worry!
Because AI will probably never beat human being on this, toy with Udio for fun but learn how to make it yourself on the side. You can even try to blend the process with AI and your own skills plus you'll have learned a valuable skill and knowledge that will stay with you.
can i only create the vocals with this too ?
I think there's another AI for that.
Yes there are voice-only tracks on here. They are generally going to be stylized in some fashion, like an actor on a stage, dramatic reading from a book, news-caster, etc. I've seen some people do animal sounds tracks on here. Like "relaxing animal sounds ambiance music".
@@justinphoenix21 I've actually created 2 ambient music tracks so it is possible.
The future will be all of us living in separate worlds of our creation.
VR + AI world generation will be wild
There's the interesting observation to make: a future of nigh-solipsism. This is the opposite of what art/music did throughout the annals of anthropology -- which was communal bonding, storytelling, history-marking, and pathos. It's kind of like social media where you make one wish, might even work for a time, but you will get repercussions (Monkey's Paw, Genie-wishes, etc.).
Myopic Idealists: *"Social media helps us connect; think of the friendships!"*
Reality: A few new opportunities. Also: ads, soft-censorship, low-productivity, narcissism & new addictions.
For the algorithm! ❤
For the algorithm!
both are good cant compare both are strong in their area and male and one female vocals ,His AND IT ALL DEPENDS ON YOUR PERSONALITY AND HOW YOU FEEL i GUESS
It trully is like that, we are getting to the point of equal performance along all AI models, exited to see when the next breakthrough will be though
It cracks me up when a song about AI is written by AI! 😅
It all comes back full circle
👍🏻
Thanks for the t thumbs up
Not shure if it's just me... but I miss the nuance of human breath into the mic, a natural giveaway that Im listening to a digitized creation.
you should check out what they are doing with ACE studios lol... its all in there
The man behind this AI calls this a liberation for musicians. The music industry now has no chance of continuing to produce this garbage and forcing musicians to comply with this commercialism. The aim is therefore to create an oversupply. Real artists should concentrate again on feeling, creativity and freedom in their design. Then real, handmade music will soon be available again - just like "organic" apples in the store.
You did not show that it is very hit or miss with the production and that you can only make 30 second clips.
I mean, lately it got much more hit than miss to be honest! Also, you can extend every clip as many times as you want, even adding intros and outros if it needs them!
@@ai-with-denis It was up to 10 chains as of about a month ago. Each segment is 33 sec. So that would be 5:30 audio.
you can extend the song, I made songs over 4 minutes. also they recently added cropping so you can get rid of unwanted part of the song. you have a lot more freedom than suno with remixes, extend and crop features.
@@realmasterkush maybe not on the free tier. It's all mashed just wherever at front, before, after, or outro
AI (like Suno and Udio) could be a boon for songwriters, but so far it is not. As a songwriter, I want to use MY lyrics and MY tune, and I want it produced in a particular way. I do admire the production chops of the AI, but it is not a helpful tool for the songwriter the way it is right now. They let one use their own lyrics (I think) - but they don't use the AI to allow a songwriter to produce THEIR song the way they would like. Tools like the Izopope suite are helpful, but they are not as "amazing" as the AI productions on Suno and Udio. Maybe that is coming. That would be nice. Suno.Udio appear to mostly be useful to produce never-ending copyright-free music for YT vids and maybe some films.
oh a DAW which utilizes ai to make presets and midi sequences would be awesome
Let's see how the next versions will be.
@@cg56578 you can extract midi tracks from your AI songs using another AI called fadr stems.
check out ACE studio AI... will do what you want and more
@@narottamzakheim5051 Yes, Ace Studio AI looks promising for creating vocals. Now we just need Suno/Udio to accept MIDI files to define the melodies. An input like from BIAB would be nice in that it defines chords and melody. Then have the music produced by Suno/Udio.
why would anyone like EVER, use AI instead of learning how to do something they are completely able to learn, wtf is happening with people, this is just lazy writing, lazy instruments, weak lyricism with no meaning
This guy is definitely trying to bait people.
If you have the possibility to learn a new skill, then absolutely do so, no doubt. But not everyone is able to, or capable of doing so. AI art essentially fills in the niche of people that need the art but don't have the skills to do it themselves nor have the money to commission an artist for.
future is living under the bridge without job.
At least you'll have ChatGPT 5 or so to talk to 🤔
In a society that can produce that efficently nobody would have to live under a bridge. 🤨
@@samthesomniatortell that to neoliberalosm c:
It s still just slapping together stuff from other songs that people actually wrote, I totally make the case that is exploitation of copyright, and it sounds good but it sounds also super generic. If anything I hope it will be a push for real artists to keep innovating. It might even be a good thing, pop music has become so formula based and repetitve. Genres are generic, maybe we will finally move past it.
Or label will use AI to make music and hire a pretty face to lip sync.
Probably both things will happen.
That will be tough. Experimental music rarely goes main strea, just because it doesn't sound good to most people :D
@@ai-with-denis experimental music and being true and original without relying on formulas are vastly different things.
Also, if your plan is to go mainstream then you're doing music for the wrong reasons.
I wish we would go back to the time where musicians cut their teeth on live performance and only then think of going somewhere with a record.
Musicians should work on internalising rhythm, harmony and melody making until it becomes a language, and then using that language to say something. AI could never do that bc it doesn't possess understanding. Which is why we shouldn't call it "intelligence" in the first place.
Did they train their software with copyrighted music? Because if they did, and I think they did, they will have a civil class suit coming their way very soon. The page will be gone in no time.
Humans learn with other music as well
Then why if a human lesrn with it its ilegal and an ai is?
the nice thing on AI music generation is that it cannot be copyrighted similar to generated images! free music for all 🥳
It’s only true at the moment. Because AI didn’t create the music, it went to already existing music and stole a little here and there and like a DJ, scrambled it together. So it is absolutely possible for another AI copyright bot, to find out what it took and from which artists.
That is true, however, just in case, be careful and make sure you have something to back this up. Take screenshots and download copies of any document that states that your AI generations are free of any copyright, you don't want to implement them into your product, just for it to get tons of money and having some AI company suddenly at your doorstep asking for royalties. But if you are careful enough, then yes, free music for all! 😄
@@JohannesSteinrayhumans do the same, we just mix things in our mind
Try to imagine a being with caracteristics you havent seen or a color you havent seen, you would notice that you cant
Still sounds like garbage to me. Needs a human band to revise and cover in order to make it sound any kind of acceptable. I do like "I Glued My Balls to My Butthole Again" though
Making music is about the process, about playing with others, improvising, reacting. You can type in some prompts and you'll get some pretty good results of average music. But you miss everything whats makes making music special.
I think it's different for everyone. Totally see your point though!
You can still do music in that way if ypu want too
No body is stoping you
sorry but all of these are going to fail. All the songs in this video sounded like some cheap copy and mash of some already known tunes then adding some no relatable shit lyrics without making any real sense, and the whole song sounded soulless. the AI is trained on the music made by humans and it just learnt to copy them, even though they are being continuously moderated by the humans in the background i.e., it is not the evolution of AI it is Actually Indian roleplaying as AI and checking that the computer is copying the correct tunes in correcting prompt request.
No, Udio isn’t killing the music industry. It’s just changing how people will write and produce music. It will still be performed live with humans singing and playing instruments even if this is how it gets recorded.
This is only the beginning. There will be more “musician friendly” generators that will allow full control over everything. In short, RELAX musicians! It’s coming and you will like what it brings. If you don’t like this, no one is forcing you to use it. But if you want to be relevant, start learning this now.
I guess only English is working for now
It should work in every language, there might be an issue with the servers. As these tools are constantly having to keep up with updates they must be constantly under maintenance. But well, that's just more advancements for us so, I am fine with it.
It work in spanish as well
WILL AI SONG SELLS MILLION COPIES? Or generate million views? ANY PROOF?... Will the copyright belongs to the Ai? legally it must be... the user of Ai can F-oFF cos they created nothing.
Ai create things in the same way humans do
Just recombine what you have already seen
idk man, AI lyrics feel soulless, kinda cringe. The music doesn't feel right.
Well the best ones I've heard were given human lyrics from people who can't produce.
Also... everything in UDIO is user given lyrics
Ai is not yet a perfect song writer, that's for sure, but I do believe in that it can become one over time. For now though, as @coltynstone-lamontagne said, the best ones are still made by humans. However, AI can help you get a base going. So don't dismiss it completely yet. You can make some changes yourself and get some pretty decent lyrics out of it, even by just prompting changes to the AI itself.
In the future it would be better
Quick to produce and instantly forgettable
