Brilliant use of the stringers for the underside of the table. Looks completely organic, like a pallet suddenly evolved into a table. ...which is kinda the point. Nice piece, nice work.
This is really cool. My boyfriend and I build lots of things with pallet wood. All it takes is a little nursing back to life and you got yourself some great wood.
Hey man! this table was the first wood project I ever did 3 years ago! Haven't stopped since then and have turned the hobby into a nice income source for my family. Just want to say thanks!
This is a great DIY project! After watching this video, I began to tear down some large pallets I had laying around. Ended up with a smaller version after ripping the wood and putting a trim on top. Thanks for the motivation
Nice work and I really liked how you came at the tear-down two different ways without editing it out of your video! I think that will help people who have never built anything before. It is very good to see young adults building things with their hands. I can tell you enjoy it! That makes for a good teacher! Your coffee table is great!
Table looks good. Working on our pallet couch right now. Might have to add this to our projet list. It amazes me how what most people view as trash can easily be turned into something useful.
I have to say I am an instant fan of your work. I was about to go out and buy a coffee table but now I think I will just make one...lol I just finished watching you put the color on and I have to say I liked it a whole lot better natural. But I am a natural kind of person!!!
Hey thanks beachbumlivin I built that exact table years ago from your design and you sent me on a path now have built countless wood projects from pallets and all of my children have benefited from it thanks so much you been a great inspiration to me
I used your video to make my own table as my first wood working project. I'm pretty happy with how it came out. I had to use some cleating to help brace the 4x4s. The pallet wood ended up being a little warped and needed the bracing to all fit straight. Also, I salvaged the side pieces from the scrap pile, because the scalloped pieces were in really rough shape. Thanks!
Great work! I'm a military member stationed in South Korea and having a tough time finding a wood supplier. But there are a ton of broken pallets around. Thank you!! You just solved a major dilemma for me and I'm thinking you're table is gonna be my first project here. Having to rebuild my shop in miniature out on our apt patio so this should be an great project to test out the mini-shop! Thanks again!
Oh thanks! I checked out Ana White and she seems right up my alley. I'll definitely be trying some of her easier projects and- if I'm brave enough - I'll post the end product!
I have been watching videos on making things out of pallets all winter. Your video is cool. I like how you did it! Looks awesome! Thanks for making the video.
Nice job bro, Do not worry about the comments about the chemicals, I've used Pallets to start our cookouts on a thousand times and then add seasoned oak, and I am still here...Good work!!! Hank
Looks excellent. Were talking about doing the focal wall in our entertainment room in reclaimed wood and making a matching coffee table. Thanks for the inspiration!
When the pallets are wet from a good rain they are easier to take apart. Nail Punch! The nail heads add to the look of the pallet wood but you are right about the danger when planing the boards.
Awesome, I think this is a wonderful way to recycle. Your videos are clear with very easy to understand instructions. Thank you . The table is great. Looking forward to see your painting technique.
Cant beleive ppl hating on this guy.....i did a table just like the one he made n my wife is happy happy happy.......talk about scorin muffukkin point...2 thumbs up on this project
What I've found out watching these recycled wood videos the best finishing product for these kind of projects is varnish. That's because the wood is usually uneven color and there is holes and nicks and stuff like that so the varnish darkens the wood, gives more used and old look and I like that!
To make things easier when lining up the slats to make the chevron, you can take a straight board and screw it up and down on the board you are using and then use it as the guide for one entire side. Unscrew the board you used and connect the second side easily lines up! Great Project!!
Great to see people reclaiming wood. I do turning and have buckets full of cut-off little pieces to use as accents on larger ones. I HATE to throw out wood. Nice work on the table. Looking to build some larger pieces for my youngest daughter - she loves that style too. The guy doing the floors in his tattoo studio, Doc Hyde, could frame the edge of the room like you did the top and then fill in with the chevrons or whatever pattern he wanted to. Just a thought.
that table is totally wicked! I think i'll try to make a sewing table! im always eyeballing pallets when Im out junk collecting...lotta great tips on how to break apart the pallets, thanks!! cherry
Left a message for the BeachBum but wanted to say, you could frame the edge of your studio like he did on the top. Do that first to set your dimensions, and then fill in with the chevrons or whatever design you want. You can do all kinds of designs, it just depends how much time cutting and glueing and nailing you want to do. Good luck with it!!
Love it BeachBum! I make stuff too! May I suggest? Pre-drill plywood 1/4" drop in flush head threaded bolts, then attach your boards on top. Use Titebond 2 Glue, resists water and stronger. When u make base, drill holes thru base, glue base to table underside, tighten nuts and washers. I have done wine barrel tables like that. Much stronger, can dance on table. Love your work, Bravo sir!!!!!! Maybe some fire brand logos to top? Burn images to top?
Dude, awesome video! I collected a crap ton of pallets a couple weeks back hoping I could use them for some rustic style furniture. Problem is I've had a bit of writer's block in terms of how to go about designing a small square table for a bedroom. This pattern looks nice!
I love that!!!!! Rustic is my favorite, plus it's the easiest style for me! Breaking down pallets is a real pain isn't it? My workplace throws away hundreds of pallets a year, if I had a truck I'd take some home and built boxes with them.
Your videos made me want to start doing some pallet work. I actually went out and bought some more tools to start. Thanks for the inspiration to start a fun hobby.
I'm looking to make a writing desk and I really like the way your coffee table turned out! I think I'll make my desk the same way just with longer legs. Great video!
came out looking very good. Where the chevron points meet you could use a 1/4 X 1 inch piece of poplar down the center for a cool contrast. Stand the poplar up so the 1/4 inch width is sandwiched between the chevron ends. Poplar when just clear coated leaves a striking dirty blond color that I've used on instruments along with holly around the edges. Not a thing wrong with what you did here, just giving you some future ideas.
I built the prettiest little library (behind-the-couch) table a few years back. Kept my eyes peeled and collected a bunch of pallets made from maple (!?). Planed off all the wear and schmutz, left the deeper stains and nail holes. Made an excellent combination of newish-looking wood with obvious distressing from old use. Then it got broken by careless use. Don't make fine furniture for use in homeless shelters, you will be disappointed.
I agree with you. I work in hardwood flooring and precise and faster cuts to get 45 degrees work much better on a chop saw, preferrably one that has a slide. Clamping a few boards at a time together prevents the pieces traveling and you get uniform cuts.We use the table saw for ripping. 45 degree cuts, wears out the blade much faster. Blade changes are faster on a chop saw.
Trace some images, Trees, fish etc, on table tops, Burn the lines with a wood burner from Michaels, I bet you would be famous in a few weeks after moving in. Cheers!!!
Would love to do something like this. One coffie and three or four end tables to go with couch n love seat. Been planing to build some different things outta pallets as soon as get sander. But was thinking more along lines of shelves. Thanks a mill for more ideas...
Nice man. I just was drawing up some plans to build a custom computer desk for my room out of old pallets. I knew i wanted to put 45's across the top but your chevron idea really set off the look of the wood. Think I'm going to take that route when I'm 100% sure I have something I can live with. Thanks for sharing dude!
Cool man...I was looking for something like this for my cabin, and man this stuff is really good. Like they said "one man trash is the other one treasure". thanks
very nice good job, I would of built the frame first with a support up the centre and an edge at the sides so the wood would then sit in the frame on them
Love it. I have a pile of pallet boards that I've planed and am waiting to building a coffee table too but haven't found plans for a good size till just now. Thanks!
That was a great clip and design. Only I would have preferred more detail on the process of building the base. Oh and the "Pin thingy" is called a hole punch :) Thanks for the inspiration.
Wow that is amazing ... I am on the look out for some pallets for something else I had in mind , and was thinking about making a table too which brought me here, sadly I do not have the tool's but love this tutorial anyway :) Great job !!

first time I have been here, but I really like this table. I am an older girl, and have made a lot of stuff, but never with found wood. good job.
Nice work and I really liked how you came at the tear-down two different ways without editing it out of your video! I think that will help people who have never built anything before. Necessity is the mother of ingenuity. Some people just don't have the fight to tap into that.
Great thing to do with pallets. Thank you for sharing. That little pin thingy you got the cut nails out of the wood with is called a nail set,
Oh thanks! I checked out Ana White and she seems right up my alley. I'll definitely be trying some of her easier projects and- if I'm brave enough - I'll post the end product!

cosh living Thank you!!
hairpin legs are the perfect match for this kind of table top:o
excellent, my wife has been after a table for outside for the summer. this will be ideal.

I'm gonna make one this weekend. I have a small house so I'd love to turn this into a folding kitchen table.
that table is totally wicked! I think i'll try to make a sewing table! im always eyeballing pallets when Im out junk collecting...lotta great tips on how to break apart the pallets, thanks!!

Best pallet table I've seen. Thanks for blazing a trail.
great video...!...my husband and I are going out to look for some pallets to make something cool...I'm so thrilled.. I love old and rustic...! :-)
this is a great way to make a work bench cheaply
Thumbsup for the catchy guitar riff!!!
I'm like really digging this table. I'm a lover of coffee tables anyways. I am not the best at making things out of wood. but I'm gonna try this.
To age the newer pallets, make a mixture of Steel wool and vinegar to change the color and look. Good Luck. Nice work.
solid table......nice fence too
Dude, awesome video! I collected a crap ton of pallets a couple weeks back hoping I could use them for some rustic style furniture. Problem is I've had a bit of writer's block in terms of how to go about designing a small square table for a bedroom. This pattern looks nice!
The "pin thing" is called a center punch. Good video.
I love that!!!!! Rustic is my favorite, plus it's the easiest style for me! Breaking down pallets is a real pain isn't it? My workplace throws away hundreds of pallets a year, if I had a truck I'd take some home and built boxes with them.
