Saw someone in chat mention Red Rooms, that was a fantastic movie and one of the best I’ve seen in recent memory. The majority of it is in French and deals with a serial killer’s trial, the opening statements alone are peak cinema. Currently streaming on Shudder if anyone wants to check it out.
Can wholeheartedly recommend The Substance. It's absolutely fucking batshit. My friend and I have a movie list called "the chum bucket" which we collaboratively update, and we pick 2 or 3 films from it to watch whenever we hang out. It's a good system! He likes to add low budget "video nasties" from the 80s, which are good fun but highly variable in quality. My tastes are a bit more varied but usually lean towards horror, dark comedy, drama and sci fi. I'd also like to rec Godzilla Minus One.
Some of the way the SMG outperformed the other guns might be because of the early Sharp Bullet? As I understand Pierce, that item drastically nerfs any weapon that comes with its own Piercing.
