I picked up one of these amps the other day and it’s going to be with me forever. Sounds incredible!

I bought the same Fender THE TWIN amp back in the mid-90s brand new. Still have it. Mine doesn't have the red knobs though. Mine are black... Killer amp!

bought my red knob (but with black knobs because it´s a 1994)...it came with old sovtek 5881s (the same came in my old Marshall 6100...they worked for years!) and i tried to bias it years ago...it never worked... but sounded good. Last week i put in a new quad of RSD 6L6GCs after i saw your video appearing in my feed... and it worked out of the box... ThanK You very much... and now it even sounds way bigger, fuller....so the 5881 must have bee way out of range...i couldn´t get it over 0.2V on the bias side...and never close to 0.0V on the balance side... :) ...Have i said THANK YOU??? THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

I’ve had mine since 1987. Decent clean amp. Now I know how to bias it. Thanks!

Thanks for the video, I have the exact same amp plus the head version that was sold as Dual Showman. I have been wanting to bias them for quite a long time.

If we remove the 2 middle tubes to reduce the power, should the bias be set to the same level?
    Thanks for your answer.

How do you set the quiescent current for 2 tubes? 20mv with 8 ohms maybe?

is this the only way to bias this amp? What about using an Eurotube Pro 1 Bias meter? Id like to bias it at 65 percent at least.

This is a Fender The Twin Red Knob. A very cool Amp for all Styles. But he actually has to run at 16 ohms. This amp is Great

@Alfa Mail I have this amp, with all four power tubes and both speakers it runs at 16ohms with 2x8ohm speakers in series not parallel, so looks like he's put those Jensens in (not stock)and rewired with the wiring set (you can see the fender jack plugged in to the main speaker output) running 2 8ohms in parallel for a 4ohm load probably. I run mine with 2 tubes pulled and half the impedance using the switch. It gives some flexibility for upgrading the earsplitiing stock speakers in this beast. Soemtimes i gig with only one 8ohm speaker (1x10) with a gasket and half power so i run it at 4ohms on the selector switch accordingly.

He has the new Jensens wired in parallel probably.

3 Ohm settings can be used, 4, 8, or 16; depends on how you setup the speakers in series or parellel and what the amp is outputting, these factors change the load. 4 is punchy and moves alot of air in the speaker the whoosh is pronounced as the speaker sucks in and out which is good for thump, 8 is a middle of the road setting, and 16 is mushy and creamy on its attack from less speaker movement.

Great job. Very clear. The Fender Red Knob is very interesting. My question is whether these parameters are the same for the Fender Twin Amp with 100W as well? Thanks

I have the red knob twin and have removed the middle two power tubes. Do I set my bias to these numbers still or would it change?

Fender The Twin, the red knob Twin Reverb, the first year they went from hand soldered on aluminum plate to a printed circuit board.
