I love how one of the old men was basically like, “This perspective is expected from me, but you being younger. You should be more open minded.” (Before y’all come for me, I’m putting what he said in my own words) I think he is extremely self aware, and sees that certain ways are meant to be outgrown. Like women only being housewives now having lives outside of their families (not saying they didn’t before, but how it was only acceptable for woman to just stay home and care for the house/kids, while the husband went to get the bread for the family)

You got it wrong, they simply let her do the teaching - because they were of the same mind. That's what you do, give space to others. At my age, I've seen this happen countless times with older folks. If they have something to add they would join in, but she nailed it just fine. No need to overwhelm the couple.
The best advice was "you can't impose your will on her" this right here is what we all should understand. People have autonomy and we need to respect that!
This is a big problem in Mexican households. The wife is expected to stay home all day for the rest of her life just caring for the kids and cooking , cleaning for the husband. I understand as a man wanting to always being able to provide for our family but if our wife wants to work, she should be able to without being looked down at by others
It is equally okay to want to work or be a stay-at-home mum (which is work in its own right, that's for sure). The important thing is that it's the woman's own choice, no one else's. I love the elderly people they spoke to here. They grew up in an era (and even more so, their parents did) where it was common for women to be expected to cook, clean and look after the children, and they truly understand the value of being independent and being allowed to make your own way in life.

This was a really interesting video. I have met many women who are full-time homemakers, who really regret not working. "A husband will buy or give you money to buy pretty clothes when you're young and pretty.... When they you're old they say you don't need money anymore and won't give you anything." That's just an example, and I've met so many women who wish they were financially independent. So many women trapped in marriages because of kids, or lack of ability to enter the job market at an advanced age bc they were homemakers.

If the man thinks his wife should take care of their home, there is nothing wrong with it. It's an opinion also. When i see old people with old traditions they seem much happier than today's generation. Change of time doesn't always mean changing name of your society values to other and changing your own cultural values to so called modern times. Personally if my wife wants to work i would support her of course but every move we make we must make sure it's leading our society to somewhere good. Thank you for the videos again
Recently in Delhi a horrible incident happened.Husband killed his wife because she was going to work.He asked her not to go to work and stay at home.But she said she will continue to work .So he killed her in the street where huge number of people roam about . I don't know that guy should have not married if he wants a wife to be his slave. He is arrested. He doesn't deserve to live and he should be punished severely. A man who doesn't respect a life doesn't deserve to live. Only bad wins over good most of the times. Sometimes I feel like does God really exists.Should God take away a life of a person in this horrible manner just bcoz She loved to continue her job and bcoz she loved to earn her own living. Does she even deserve this. Then all these sayings failed " Good wins over bad " . Here I can see "Bad won".

I was going to comment the same thing! It’s wonderful that even older people are willing to change their perspectives.
However there are cases where it's better for one parent tho stay at home, usually the wife. I could list some possibilities.

父は子育てや家事は妻の役目だとを丸投げ。同居人の祖母も父の味方だった。幼心に母には働いて欲しいって思ったよ。父より母の方が社交的で学習能力あるし、テキパキしてるし、老若男女関係なく信頼されるし、昇進も早いと思ったんだよなぁ。父は頑固で融通効かないし、内弁慶で過保護育ちだから働くのは難しいって思ったねぇ。それに仕事が多忙すぎて、父は精神異常になって精神科通って会社休んでたからなぁ…まぁ、母が仕事行っても分担せずに母に家事や育児を全てやらせてたかもだけど。父は家事、育児やらせてもてんでダメな人だったから…今でも共働きの話題になると過去の事で激論交わして揉めてる。
