    If only there were a single long form video for each of them, but particularly Wagner, which is the only one that I came here to find out more about. That said, thank you so, so much for doing this. I really appreciate it. The ink would be going into my circa 1928 Aikin Lambert in olive ripple, a beautiful and very scarce pen that has yet to be found in any catalog, and which is essentially a rebranded Waterman's 94 in olive ripple but with different hardware, a different feed, etc. .

    I've got the Bach in 48 pens.
    [Edit] Hmm. One year later and no likes 😔. I probably need to explain the joke. It's a reference to Bach's Well-Tempered Klavier. A set of preludes and fugues in all 24 keys in major and minor.

    Bravo! Encore, encore! Thank you Maestro Mick. I shall order the earthy Bach (CPE to my taste) tomorrow, for my Apica note book, and my Musique notation lined work books (from the Juilliard Shop over on the West side). My real job, music theory and history of music teacher. Again, many thank yous from your avid one-woman audience here under lockdown in midtown Manhattan. Take great care, miss Jenny.

    I love this review, it's so thorough and your voice is so calm. Now I know which inks from this set I want to buy. Thank you so much!

    Just inked up with some Vivaldi. I find it a very season-al colour.

    Sweet video Mick! Loving the Wagner as it's something a bit different looking. Just wondering which Tomoe River notebook you have?

      That notebook uses the 68gsm paper... it’s from the now defunct (well evolved into Lochby) Bond Travel Gear. That particular book isn’t made anymore

    I like the Wagner. The Strauss is almost right for me, but the burnt siennais nicer on the whole.

      I am a big fan of Burnt Sienna. The Strauss to me looks a bit like those chalky reds... which is nice

    Great video! These are lovely inks. I have Schubert and Bach. How does Strauss compare to Diamine Ancient Copper? And Robert Oster Burned Orange?

    I am glad to know that I am not alone for that Handel color. Diamine must have changed it’s formula. A lot of earlier reviews of Handel showed a more vibrant purple tone, which confused me a lot, I thought I got a bad bottle.

    Another great ink review! Definitely one of your fortes! The colors are very rich and deep, just what I would imagine for these composers. Did the colors make sense to you given your knowledge of these composers?

    • @theoffstageme
      @theoffstageme  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you! Some of the colours make a lot of sense to me. I tend to think about the colours evoking a sense of something in the composers music. They could have done things like made Vivaldi a red shade as he was known as ‘The Red Priest’, and I am glad they didnt go down a ‘synesthesia’ path trying to create a sense of the colours perceived in the music... but there are a few colours in this set that line up nicely: Bach with the rich brown sepia akin to his handwriting in manuscripts. Chopin being a night sky blue/grey tying in nicely with his Nocturnes... and Beethoven with that forest green corresponding with the Pastoral symphony he composed. These are very much personal takes on it all though.

    Another great review, I appreciate the effort you put into it. What do you use for swabs? I wonder whether they picked colors at random when matching to composers or whether more thought was put into it:)

    Diamine Wagner matches more closely with Diamine Safari. I like Vivaldi, an unusual color.

    If you watch from 0.27 to 0.35 you'll notice that Beethoven is misspelled with a double t. Dear me.

    Beautiful inks ! Is this sample set available in the USA ?

    • @theoffstageme
      @theoffstageme  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say Pulp Addiction could do international shipping... but I would find it hard to imagine that one of the many US retailers who stock Diamine wouldnt cover this set in their samples. Especially seeing as the individual 30ml bottles are widely available
