Esto tiene que compartirse con el mundo. De "Nancy Jazz Pulsations" del 2009. Especial atencion desde el momento 3:17, mansa volaita. Pero mejor "viajar" el tema completo.
Mulatu & the Heliocentrics collabration is the greatest of all time. Its a masterpice and more like art than anything. For me it's a milestone in history of music.
Jack Yglesias! I'm going on tour with him and Idris Ackamoor and The Pyramids starting from October 1st untill novembre 22! Ceck Pyramids Facebook page ;)
I love Mulatu's older stuff but the cello in this seems so out of place!! Brass/guitar or Fender Rodes could perhaps have been a substitute solo instrument. I love cello but I just dont think it belongs here!!

No Bro, actually that's an indication that it's quality. The average person loves quantity over quality.

These guys sound like Frank Zappa, Sun Ra and Fela Kuti together.

Does anyone know the name of the cello ?
Maybe Danny Keane? He plays cello on some Heliocentrics recordings and he's also on Mulatu's Sketches of Ethiopia album.
Anybody knows the name of the percussionist?
The guy bouncing the shekere on his knee is Jack Yglesias.....that guy?

The Heliocentrics use cello on various non-collaborative material, and I believe there is also cello on the Mualtu & Heliocentrics album.
It would have made sense if you knew the original song. Asnaketch worku, Jerusalem
