I’ve never been a fan of what they did with Yamcha in the cell arc. Their was no way Vegeta and Bulma would ever get together after what Vegeta has done before (and this includes mass murdering a village of Nameks including children that never get resurrected because of a loophole and he brags about it in front of everyone including Bulma), the author then forcibly assassinated Yamchas character by making him off as a cheater despite no evidence showing this before, all because it would make Bulma look like a horrible person to ditch her loving boyfriend for an mass murder and since that arc revolves around her future son that wasn’t an option so Yamcha became the expendable one.
***** The Last Airbender was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. some of the worst acting, dialogue, effects, plots, cinematography, score, direction, and action in a movie I have ever seen. Also, the movie left out the Kioshi Warriors, Jet, SOZENS COMET(THE WHOLE REASON AANG TRIES TO MASTER THE ELEMENTS IN THE FIRST PLACE), changed the characters name pronunciation. added things that were not even in the show, and left out going to the air temple with the normal humans (North air temple I think). So don't act like this movie was just a bad movie. It was soooooo bad. Can't tell which is worse, The Last Airbender or Dragonball Evolution.
Henry Olsen I'd say Evolution was worse purely in terms of how unfaithful it was to the source material, but The Last Airbender is very close in terms of pure awfulness. Part of the problem is that you have children's cartoons being adapted by fifty-something studio executives who only care about making a buck and directors whose knowledge of cartoons probably begins and ends with Tom And Jerry. They simply can't understand what makes these shows great in the first place.

Actually, the guy who played Piccolo actually was a fan of the source material, and saved Piccolo from this god awful movie. Originally they were gonna make Piccolo a bishounen human, but the guy who played Piccolo wasn't having it, so he put make up on behind the director's back one day, and luckily, the director liked it.
I think it's unfair to say it sucked… It was disgraceful to claim it to be anything to do with dragon ball but as a movie in its own own, it wasn't awful. Pretend it is just another martial arts movie and you might like it.

There is a very significant difference between the majority of the American cartoons and comic books and that of Japanese cartoons and comic books which portray a slightly different set of cultural values and actually takes a slightly different approach to what a cartoon should be. Japanese animation is not actually the same as American animation, their approaches and thoughts on what animation actually is are too different to consider everything under the same label, both in good ways and bad. There are god knows how many ways to argue that one is better than the other but simply put it's like the saying "apples and oranges" which is typically used to suggest that two things whilst fitting in the same category are too vastly different to compare. You can drive it back to the basics if you wish but it still doesn't change the fact that the attributes associated with the two are not the same. Due to this, there was a need to differentiate between the American animation and comic book industries and that of the Japanese thus the west took the term in order to signify that it was different. That difference is also why we gave the term Manhwa to Korean comic books and Manhua to Chinese comic books. It's all made to associate the comic term to its respective culture and to the cultural traits those comics contain. Of course, this is the creation of 'sub genres' as they are all comics or animation, which I will concede to you is true, as they do use the same medium to transmit data although you may as well simply say they all fall under artwork if you limit it to such. However, there is a significant difference in the actual material due to this difference in culture, much like English is not the same as Italian even though they are both spoken languages. Thus there is cultural significance in separating the two items, something I embrace myself even honestly enjoying products from both. As for your opening accusation, I feel no shame in that, anymore than I might feel shame for enjoying a movie or having enjoyed reading a book or enjoying a game. I am very outright about my enjoyment of such things and anyone who has a problem with it can deal with it because honey I don't care. (Yes, that was a song reference) ^_^

Actually he makes a very good point. Why did he never wish his grandpa back to life? I mean he can find the dragon balls in an instant because of the radar and instant transmission. They can't always be on cool down. Also why hasn't he at least visited him in the afterlife? He goes there every 5-10 episodes to visit King Kai. Is Grandpa Gohan in an after life retirement home just staring out the window.... I just made myself sad...
Yeah I found some clips of them meeting. I do remember the 1st time they meet thx to Baba. Never saw the 2nd time tho when Goku introduces Chichi to gohan. Thx guys that was one of the things that bugged me this whole time they had super wish granting dragon and he not once even thought about wishing or even seeing the guy that raised him that he spent all of dragon ball talking about.
In the SHOW, you can only wish someone back if they died within the timeframe of a year and of unnatural causes, which is a good way to limit the power of a deus ex machina.
Then what about King Kai? They just a couple episodes ago brought him back after being dead for quite a while. At least a year since he even complains "Why didn't you revive me the last time you made a wish from the dragon".

Their was no way Vegeta and Bulma would ever get together after what Vegeta has done before (and this includes mass murdering a village of Nameks including children that never get resurrected because of a loophole and he brags about it in front of everyone including Bulma), the author then forcibly assassinated Yamchas character by making him off as a cheater despite no evidence showing this before, all because it would make Bulma look like a horrible person to ditch her loving boyfriend for an mass murder and since that arc revolves around her future son that wasn’t an option so Yamcha became the expendable one.

***** The Last Airbender was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. some of the worst acting, dialogue, effects, plots, cinematography, score, direction, and action in a movie I have ever seen. Also, the movie left out the Kioshi Warriors, Jet, SOZENS COMET(THE WHOLE REASON AANG TRIES TO MASTER THE ELEMENTS IN THE FIRST PLACE), changed the characters name pronunciation. added things that were not even in the show, and left out going to the air temple with the normal humans (North air temple I think). So don't act like this movie was just a bad movie. It was soooooo bad. Can't tell which is worse, The Last Airbender or Dragonball Evolution.
Henry Olsen I'd say Evolution was worse purely in terms of how unfaithful it was to the source material, but The Last Airbender is very close in terms of pure awfulness.
Part of the problem is that you have children's cartoons being adapted by fifty-something studio executives who only care about making a buck and directors whose knowledge of cartoons probably begins and ends with Tom And Jerry. They simply can't understand what makes these shows great in the first place.

What gets me is the actors in this all said they were big fans of the source material, and couldn't wait to bring it to life... Yet still went ahead and made this film together.
Actually, the guy who played Piccolo actually was a fan of the source material, and saved Piccolo from this god awful movie. Originally they were gonna make Piccolo a bishounen human, but the guy who played Piccolo wasn't having it, so he put make up on behind the director's back one day, and luckily, the director liked it.
Bright side: because of this movie, we got Battle of Gods, Resurrection F, and DB Super.

Honestly, I disagree. There is a very significant difference between the majority of the American cartoons and comic books and that of Japanese cartoons and comic books which portray a slightly different set of cultural values and actually takes a slightly different approach to what a cartoon should be. Japanese animation is not actually the same as American animation, their approaches and thoughts on what animation actually is are too different to consider everything under the same label, both in good ways and bad.
There are god knows how many ways to argue that one is better than the other but simply put it's like the saying "apples and oranges" which is typically used to suggest that two things whilst fitting in the same category are too vastly different to compare. You can drive it back to the basics if you wish but it still doesn't change the fact that the attributes associated with the two are not the same. Due to this, there was a need to differentiate between the American animation and comic book industries and that of the Japanese thus the west took the term in order to signify that it was different. That difference is also why we gave the term Manhwa to Korean comic books and Manhua to Chinese comic books. It's all made to associate the comic term to its respective culture and to the cultural traits those comics contain.
Of course, this is the creation of 'sub genres' as they are all comics or animation, which I will concede to you is true, as they do use the same medium to transmit data although you may as well simply say they all fall under artwork if you limit it to such. However, there is a significant difference in the actual material due to this difference in culture, much like English is not the same as Italian even though they are both spoken languages. Thus there is cultural significance in separating the two items, something I embrace myself even honestly enjoying products from both.
As for your opening accusation, I feel no shame in that, anymore than I might feel shame for enjoying a movie or having enjoyed reading a book or enjoying a game. I am very outright about my enjoyment of such things and anyone who has a problem with it can deal with it because honey I don't care. (Yes, that was a song reference) ^_^

Actually he makes a very good point. Why did he never wish his grandpa back to life? I mean he can find the dragon balls in an instant because of the radar and instant transmission. They can't always be on cool down. Also why hasn't he at least visited him in the afterlife? He goes there every 5-10 episodes to visit King Kai. In the SHOW, you can only wish someone back if they died within the timeframe of a year and of unnatural causes, which is a good way to limit the power of a deus ex machina.
Then what about King Kai? They just a couple episodes ago brought him back after being dead for quite a while. At least a year since he even complains "Why didn't you revive me the last time you made a wish from the dragon".
