I found the most oddball 6000 in a yard here in Austin, Texas. A 1986 LE in beige over gold with a blue interior. Bucket seats but no console, cruise and delay wipers but no tilt, MPFI 2.8, power locks and courtesy lamps but manual windows, locking gas door, and somewhere along the line, someone added STE rear disk brakes and wheels.
I think there were fleet ordered cars which has the expected options, and then for sure the custom ordered cars where folks were counting penny’s to see what they wanted.
What a handsome car. I wonder if there's any more modern transmissions that could bolt into it. Perhaps something with more gears that might have kept this on the road a little longer.
Never was a fan of the 6000 , still not 🤷🏻♂ This must have been a special order from an old timer . Just wanted a no frills car . Less to go wrong is how I see it 😋

Well, the 4T60/65-E physically would bolt in, it’s just a matter if the Iron Duke could power it.
It's a GOOO
Yeah, not this car. It’s a SLOOOO
@@Turbo231 the 6 looks like a G. We used to call them gooos and goolies (6000 LE) back in the day.
🤘🇨🇦🤘
Yeah, that is a pretty sweet car.
AM radio with a cassette deck? Odd.
It must have been swapped out although usually they show how to switch from AM to FM
But it has cassette
Yeah, so it’s been swapped. But with mono wiring, will it ever sound good?
