As a general guide as to what Aurora is about? She's very much about you being you, non judgmental, understanding you, exploring your emotions, acceptance etc. She is also very much about/feels very connected to the natural world, and concerned for the future of that and for humanity. She's also a pacifist, those lines about a ceasefire, I'm fairly certain, referenced Palestine. One of her favourite charities is War Child. She herself calls her fan base the "Warrior's and Weirdo's"! 🤪❤

What happened to the heart? “The echo of my shadow” Aurora described this song as a feeling of dying, about mourning her past self and coming to peace with that it's okay that she has changed. As well as celebrating changing, going through things and learning from it. This was the first song written for What Happened to the Heart?, and written on the same day as "Invisible Wounds". These two songs are the more personal songs to her. Most of the album was written in public or unsafe spaces, but these two songs were written "in my living room, where it was safe. They came directly from my solitude". “To be alright” In an interview with Dork, Aurora said: "Of all the major chord songs, it fits the album the most. If that makes sense. It's the wish to feel better, but using the wrong remedies. One of the last stages before the problem becomes all-consuming." “Your Blood” "The world is always bleeding. And you never know what is going on under people's skin. I think it's only when we reach out to each other, that we understand what compassion and beauty we are capable of as human beings. Even if we can't understand what people are going through: we should still try. If we don't, what is a life truly worth? Sometimes addressing the pain, your own, or the pain of the world hurts so much it feels like dying. But in truth, I believe it is then we are born. Your blood. My blood. Our blood." “The conflict of the mind” In a social media post upon release, Aurora said: "This is a song for everything you never said. Everything we left unspoken. Everything we still feel, lingering in the air around us. I know many of you know how it feels to be in a family, where everything painful. Remains quiet. And hidden. There is nothing more painful than seeing the ones I love cry, but at the same time it fills my heart up. Because it's the greatest feeling in the world. To open up. And be there for someone. If only, we were brave enough. It's truly when we open up We find the purest proof of love hidden in the conflict of our minds." “Some type of skin” In press releases, Aurora said: "I've always been told that I should build some type of skin. I've always let myself merge too much with the world, not really knowing where the world ends and I begin. This song screams the muchness of it. And it's delicious. Being human is really delicious, even though it's more than any of us can handle. My god it's a lot." “The essence” AURORA uses vivid imagery to communicate pain and how futile time becomes in alleviating that suffering. “Earthly delight” “Earthly Delights” is described as a wild, sweeping journey through portals, gardens and death. “The dark dresses lightly” In an interview and promotional text for the album, Aurora said: "I spent a lot of time drinking wine alone, speaking out loud, my heart and mind finally in conversation." She would record these conversations and later transcribe them as fodder for her songs, such as "The Dark Dresses Lightly" The song imagines the heart and the mind as two characters sitting at a table, drinking together - you can even hear the glasses clinking in the production. Aurora adds: "So the heart says, 'Okay, now, we've gone too long without communicating. Tonight, we're going to get drunk, go deep into this shit, and explode on each other.' When all the ugly has come out, and you can kind of hear me having an orgasm because getting everything out is so delicious, and the healing can truly begin." “A soul with no King” AURORA speaks about A Soul With No King during her live concert in Kingston at Pryzm: “I feel like our souls are lost, and I feel like our souls don’t know what to do. We haven’t given them any value, and we haven’t given them any [hold/home]. And I feel like we really need to prove to our soul that we’re its ruler - and we’d hear it and we will guide it by being just decent, [empathetic], good human beings. And I think about what’s happening in Palestine a lot when I sing this song because I don’t understand how in the modern time - in modern times like this - that we can disagree on whether something so heart-breaking is wrong or not. I don’t understand.” There are several versions of this song: The album version, the remix version featuring NATURE and different live versions. “Dreams” “AURORA revealed in a show in Oslo that “Dreams” was inspired by the history of a child that wanted to disappear from the world, and it was also inspired by the track of the world.” She says she thinks of her mom when she sings it❤️ “My name” “My Name” questions the listener about the cultural belief that one’s name being forgotten after death signifies true oblivion. The song features the pipa, a traditional Chinese instrument, maybe symbolizing Chinese perspectives on memory and the importance they assign to names. Both AURORA and Ane Brun have publicly addressed the humanitarian situation in Gaza, expressing their concern for mass civilian deaths. “My Name” prompts listeners to reflect on how these civilians' names are forgotten, described as those who are “given just another year, another departure in their atmosphere,” as the lyrics state. Ane Brun is a norwegian artist Aurora has listened a lot to, and she’s one of Aurora’s inspiration❤️ “Do you feel” In an interview with The Forty-Five AURORA is asked: “You also got very, very drunk.” She responds: “I was drinking a lot. Especially the song ‘Do You Feel.’ Others I was definitely drunk, some of the lyrics are painful for me, so it helped a little to sing less vulnerable with someone in the studio. So yeah, I've been drinking a lot and dancing a lot in the studio before going to the studio, which I've never done before!” “Starvation” n press releases, Aurora said: "'Starvation' touches on the very heart of the album. The root of the problem the world is in. Our souls are starving, and therefore I think it's hard for people to truly connect with the world. Our food makes us sick. The news makes us worried, but passive. Our work makes us uninspired by life. We bully strangers on the internet. And we connect to other humans mostly through that very same medium. We can see people getting killed on our phones while we go on about our day. Something is seriously wrong." “The blade” AURORA described “The Blade” as a song with a lot of “female anger” and that fans need to let themselves explode a little to understand the work. In an interview with The Forty-Five the interviewer asks: “To gain more courage and find inspiration for this album, you threw yourself into chaos and some pretty unique methods, from ice swimming to rage rooms…” To which AURORA responds: “It was very cathartic. In rage rooms you punch things, break things and scream at things. You can do things that the world doesn’t really allow you to do. It’s absolutely uplifting. Fun. ‘Blade’ was born out of that.” “My body is not mine” Culturally, the song resonates with contemporary discussions about mental health, self-identity, and the pressures of modern life. AURORA’s ethereal and haunting musical style complements the introspective and often dark themes of the lyrics, creating a powerful and evocative listening experience. The song’s exploration of the disconnection between mind and body invites listeners to reflect on their own experiences of alienation and the quest for self-acceptance. “Invisible wounds” Along with “Echo Of My Shadow”, AURORA composed “Invisible Wounds” in complete silence. She wrote it in her living room, where it was safe, and said the song came directly from loneliness. She said it was the first song she wrote on the album, because she needed to heal herself first ❤️
@@lillm6874 Thank you so much for this comment!!! I read it all and appreciate the insights to each song🥰🙏🏼 I really love what you summarized about the track starvation. Makes my heart heavy to read but it’s so true😭
Thanks, that was fun! I think this is an amazing album, but I think you should check out some live Aurora too. "A Soul with No King" live at Vevo would be a great place to start.
soul with no king was about mother nature. so instead of a king you'd have a queen. but its also like you said. being stubborn against having a ruler when the mother rules us all in the end. its also fun to note that the Goddess Eos/Aurora is the neice of Gaia in greek/roman mythology. So literally why wont we call her name? I'm sure she's aware of this, her whole last album was about the old gods.
Oooh I love that!!! Thanks for the insight. That makes the song even 10x better when listening to it knowing it’s about Mother Nature😌 love the subject matter in this album, can’t wait to explore more of her art.
It's always so refreshing to see someone react to Aurora for the first time ever, and you're incredibly lucky that it's her best album to date. I'm sure someone has already mentioned this, but if not, fun fact: Aurora is the musician who inspired Billie Eilish to start writing her own music. Also, I hope this isn't overstepping, but I just thought I'd offer a bit of advice from one Yeti Mic user to another: you'll get better sound if you direct your voice at the side of the mic rather than the top. You also might want to look into a pop-filter (I recommend one of the curved ones that hug the mic, rather than the flat disc). Hope this helps for the future!
@@pestobee people have told me about billie! So cool🥰 love the album! I don’t mind the info about the mic! Tbh I don’t know how to use it well I’m still learning! Good tips though😌 first things first… I need to eventually purchase a desktop when I can because my laptop sounds like it’s about to EXPLODE when I stream using OBS studio🤣😭
@@toolertotmusicbox Haha yeah, her album is transcendent. Been listening to it non-stop since it dropped. Her live stuff is even better. Highly recommend checking some of her concerts out. The Nobel Prize performance of her song Runaway is an experience. Oof, yeah, I feel that in terms of the OBS issues on a laptop. 😅 Something that I found that helped in terms of a laptop working overtime (potentially overheating) is getting a laptop fan to put under it. If you need to use it while recording, switch the Yeti Mic setting so that audio pickup is directed towards yourself rather than from multiple directions. (That's the dial with the little circle-like icons around it.) If you choose to invest in building a custom PC, or buy a pre-built one, make sure to look into if the parts are compatible with upgrading later. Will lengthen the longevity and cut total costs when you might need to upgrade again down the road. Best of luck with your channel! I enjoyed the way you broke the songs down, but also your thoughts and reactions to the song titles and album cover. Haven't seen anyone else do that. 😄
if you listen closely she starts to cry at the end of 'invisible wounds'. her voice gets really shaky. she admitted in an interview that she had to re-record that song many times because she just kept crying while singing it.

In “my body is not mine” she’s screaming “cease fire now!” Calling out the genocide in Palestine. In the music video of starvation you see hands painted with Palestinian flag 🇵🇸 . What happened to our heart when we are watching what we are watching here on earth? This album addresses everything about humanity as a whole and as an individual. The separation of our hearts by living purely in the mind.

Im not a fan of some of AURORAS music. Im a fan of some. And then im " a fan girl" ( as per my daughter)of many. AURORA is a unique Artist. A Chameleon. Has no equal in the variety of styles she writes and performs. Im 55. So my comparisons are " dated" but i truly believe she is her generations Prince, David Bowie, Queen, and i dare say The Beatles. Not in fame, success or anything other then variety. Then i see her as her generations Neil Young. She will play her songs Accapella, alone at Piano, Acoustic or with a full band. Once again its the variety. Then i look at her as musician, not a vocalist for a moment and realize she once again is able to create a variety of music. Look at the instruments she performed on this album. I dont know if id rather see her play Bass or Drums live..Anyways....... Lyrically....shes her Generations Dylan, or Waters( pink floyd). She has no true Genre. ..Album to Album, Song to Song, Performance to Performance...... I hate to be a Debbie Downer or the Neighborhood Karen, but i think she will drastically cut down on touring after NEXT Album.Still perform, but no long tours. She will be finicially secure, be secure with her ability to keep her fan base, will want to finally live the life she wants, not pressures of beiing a touring Artist. Her time, energy and passion will be in creating music. She will want to engineer or produce more. If not for her own music, then for others. Its a natural growth for an Artist such as her. She will want to use her voice in many social, political or ecological matters. Her musical career has always been a compromise for her. Everything from the Fame, Status, Sales, Recognition, Awards, has always been irrelevant for her. Her one love is in creating.
Love your comparisons to other artists and how you feel about Aurora❤️ it’s definitely beautiful to see an artist make music for the love of creating! Awards and accolades in my opinion do not hold one’s value and greatness. I love music and will definitely listen to more Aurora😭🫶

So happy being on the channel told me about her music🙏🏼
You said it Bestie💙🥰🥰🦋

Great reaction. You should listen to some of Auroras music of her other albums as well. This album is quite experimental for her.
Thanks for watching! Can't wait to listen to another one of her projects😌
My favorites from this album:
Starvation
When the dark dresses lightly
The blade
@@NawakyKase love the top 3! I am obsessed with the production on do you feel🥰

What happened to the heart?
“The echo of my shadow”
Aurora described this song as a feeling of dying, about mourning her past self and coming to peace with that it's okay that she has changed.
“To be alright”
In an interview with Dork, Aurora said:
"Of all the major chord songs, it fits the album the most. If that makes sense. It's the wish to feel better, but using the wrong remedies. One of the last stages before the problem becomes all-consuming."
“Your Blood”
"The world is always bleeding. Your blood. My blood. Our blood."
“The conflict of the mind”
In a social media post upon release, Aurora said:
"This is a song for everything you never said. It's truly when we open up We find the purest proof of love hidden in the conflict of our minds."
“Some type of skin”
In press releases, Aurora said:
"I've always been told that I should build some type of skin. I've always let myself merge too much with the world, not really knowing where the world ends and I begin. This song screams the muchness of it. And it's delicious. Being human is really delicious, even though it's more than any of us can handle. My god it's a lot."
“The essence”
AURORA uses vivid imagery to communicate pain and how futile time becomes in alleviating that suffering.
“Earthly delight”
“Earthly Delights” is described as a wild, sweeping journey through portals, gardens and death.
“The dark dresses lightly”
In an interview and promotional text for the album, Aurora said: "I spent a lot of time drinking wine alone, speaking out loud, my heart and mind finally in conversation." She would record these conversations and later transcribe them as fodder for her songs, such as "The Dark Dresses Lightly" The song imagines the heart and the mind as two characters sitting at a table, drinking together - you can even hear the glasses clinking in the production. Aurora adds:
"So the heart says, 'Okay, now, we've gone too long without communicating. Tonight, we're going to get drunk, go deep into this shit, and explode on each other.' When all the ugly has come out, and you can kind of hear me having an orgasm because getting everything out is so delicious, and the healing can truly begin."
“A soul with no King”
AURORA speaks about A Soul With No King during her live concert in Kingston at Pryzm:
“I feel like our souls are lost, and I feel like our souls don’t know what to do. I don’t understand.”
There are several versions of this song: The album version, the remix version featuring NATURE and different live versions.
“Dreams”
“AURORA revealed in a show in Oslo that “Dreams” was inspired by the history of a child that wanted to disappear from the world, and it was also inspired by the track of the world.”
She says she thinks of her mom when she sings it❤️
“My name”
“My Name” questions the listener about the cultural belief that one’s name being forgotten after death signifies true oblivion.
Ane Brun is a norwegian artist Aurora has listened a lot to, and she’s one of Aurora’s inspiration❤️
“Do you feel”
In an interview with The Forty-Five AURORA is asked: “You also got very, very drunk.” She responds: “I was drinking a lot. Especially the song ‘Do You Feel.’ Others I was definitely drunk, some of the lyrics are painful for me, so it helped a little to sing less vulnerable with someone in the studio. So yeah, I've been drinking a lot and dancing a lot in the studio before going to the studio, which I've never done before!”
“Starvation”
n press releases, Aurora said:
"'Starvation' touches on the very heart of the album. Something is seriously wrong."
“The blade”
AURORA described “The Blade” as a song with a lot of “female anger” and that fans need to let themselves explode a little to understand the work. Fun. ‘Blade’ was born out of that.”
“My body is not mine”
Culturally, the song resonates with contemporary discussions about mental health, self-identity, and the pressures of modern life.
“Invisible wounds”
Along with “Echo Of My Shadow”, AURORA composed “Invisible Wounds” in complete silence. She wrote it in her living room, where it was safe, and said the song came directly from loneliness.
She said it was the first song she wrote on the album, because she needed to heal herself first ❤️
This is a really awesome comment Bestie, this comment is a great introduction to Aurora 😍😍🥰🥰
I just know her vocal range is incredible live!!!
@@toolertotmusicbox Indeed, I think most fans prefer her live, because she's so good!
My fave is starvation!! Love ur channel and i subbed btw, you're hilarious 🤣❤
Starvation really got my mind thinking! Thanks for subbing😝 I try to keep y'all giggling even in the most serious album reactions🤣❤️
soul with no king was about mother nature. so instead of a king you'd have a queen. but its also like you said. being stubborn against having a ruler when the mother rules us all in the end. its also fun to note that the Goddess Eos/Aurora is the neice of Gaia in greek/roman mythology.
(That's the dial with the little circle-like icons around it.)
If you choose to invest in building a custom PC, or buy a pre-built one, make sure to look into if the parts are compatible with upgrading later. Will lengthen the longevity and cut total costs when you might need to upgrade again down the road.
Best of luck with your channel! I enjoyed the way you broke the songs down, but also your thoughts and reactions to the song titles and album cover. Haven't seen anyone else do that. 😄
@@pestobee Thanks so much for all the tips and watching🥰🫶
if you listen closely she starts to cry at the end of 'invisible wounds'. her voice gets really shaky. she admitted in an interview that she had to re-record that song many times because she just kept crying while singing it.
That is so sad😭 I feel like it has to be so hard to sing such emotional songs. Especially to perform such emotional songs live!
Yer a sweetie ❤

Glad that you are exploring Aurora rabbit hole.
Just a quick note about Aurora and Billie Eilish, Billie has stated that watching one of Aurora's music videos was what inspired her to become an Artist. (see Billie video below)

This latest Album is a bit of a evolution in style for her , and you might find some of her other Albums/EPs interesting. Infections of a Different Kind for me is probably my favorite. And you need to really check out some of her Live performances Sad but beautiful Murder Song at Nobel th-cam.com/video/vh0SWTVwXxw/w-d-xo.html
Or beautiful Through the eyes of a Child at a beautiful Cathedral in Oslo th-cam.com/video/ncG9zTzsisE/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for the live performance recommendations! Love that Billie was inspired by her; I’ve been so into Billie this year💙 definitely will be checking some of her other projects on the channel😌
If you really wanna know the meaning of her songs, i suggest that you must google it up. But the best thing is that her lyrics are open to prediction. So basically you can interpret it the way you want to.

Love from India❤
@@rudranilchowdhury5640 Hi thanks for joining the community😌❤️I am up in those Reddit forums sometimes seeing what people have to say about the lyrics🤣 The beautiful thing about music is we can interpret many things in the way we connect to it. I love music🙏🏼🥰
Such a incredible album! It's grown on me so much more even after reacting!
Love Aurora ❤
@@Roy-mw5js I love the album😌❤️
Hit like and subscribe as soon as I heard you singing Fleetwood Mac when Dreams came up during an Aurora reaction, hitting two all time favorites crossing decades at the same time! As others said, she's incredible to watch in her live performances, her other albums are fantastic as well, and I would also highly recommend checking out some of her interview highlights and reels. I urge you to listen to ALL of Auroras songs, thay are incredible. She is even better on her live performances. You got to see her concert in Nidarosdomen...it's out of this world. Also check out her covers...they are better than the originals.
I also think you might enjoy her song "Queendom".
Thanks for all the suggestions🥰 I can totally see how Billie was inspired by Aurora!
She makes you think huh? Aurora is absolutely unique and she is talking about the madness and violence surrounding us and being misguided with so many lies look around see how some powerful big ones are killing innocent without voice what happened to the heart? that is the point the whole shit sucks
@@panchiolarranaga1616 I can agree a lot of individuals in the world have stopped using their hearts😭 album is hitting im loving it!
I love music and will definitely listen to more Aurora😭🫶
i liked this album but it is very different from her other ones as other comment said; i really like the other ones of hers better, would be nice seeing you react to them!
For sure will dive into more of her discography! She’s seems to have such a strong fan base and everyone seems sweet from the comments❤️

Thanks for the review. Your audio levels could do with a bit of checking though. Lots of ups & down. That mic looks like you have to stay right beside it to speak as it fades away very quickly when you move away from it. Music very loud in comparison though! Keep going 🙏
Working on audio! I stream on a laptop and have been having so many issues (laptop isn’t ideal for steaming lol) but I spent time resolving video delays and audio the other day! Always want to upgrade equipment in future whenever I am able too😛 Hopefully next Aurora video will be better production wise🙏🏼

I love Aurora but this is my least favorite album of hers, it’s also a lot to digest for anyone who’s not familiar with her style and lyricism… but you did great girl, thanks for the reaction!
Thanks Tami it definitely was very complex; I was trying out here with this lyrical analysis🤣❤️ several people have let me know they like her other albums even more. So I just know they are going to ruin me in the best way😭🫶
please listen to 21 century blues by RAYEEE PLESSSS
I’ve definitely heard that’s a great album!
Sorry but i hate watching reactions like this , you might be listening to the whole album but its just irritating to me. I would rather listen to one track at a time over a few days than rush through the whole track list at once , her live video's are the best and would get you way more subscribers.
What's wrong with listening to the whole album in one sitting. Your listening habit is also different from a lot of people, what if they say they are irritated by the way you listen to music? Does that make you feel good
@teddyeatspudding I this it's because the songs were cut up so much. It would have been better to react to a complete song one at a time rather than try to rush through the complete album. There isn't usually copyright issues with Aurora.
