Hello Tom, nice to see your video today. I've been feeling a bit down today, and your lively soothing video helped to cheer me up a bit. Thank you. Can't wait to see your sea glass dragon, I just know it's going to be lovely. Take care and stay safe.
Ah, your confidence in the dragon is higher than mine. It's going to take a while, just to figure out how to do it all 🙂. I'm very glad my video cheered you up a bit, and hope you don't feel down for much longer.
Thanks Gill. The skies were even more unreal looking than the camera captured.... it was reflecting off the wet sand and the rolling surf... and it felt like it was close in, all around me. 🙂

Hello from New Zealand, and thanks so much for another fantastic video. Due to serious health issues I'm currently self isolating from our massive covid outbreak over here, and I'm apart from my family, so your videos are really keeping me occupied, and and are great company. Akaroa (where I am staying) is situated in the crater of an extinct volcano and when there are few people around I can get out for a beachcomb. There is plenty of sea glass here to pick up, and many volcanic rocks to explore. Thanks again Tom....loving your work.
Hi Kim. I'm glad my videos are helping you through such a tough time. Where you're staying sounds wonderful, apart from the terrible circumstances. I hope you make it through all this safe and well. Warm regards, Tom.
A great way to end my day. With Tom Burleigh. Luv all the sea glass you collected and enjoyed the beach you shared with us. The dragon sounds amazing!!! Cant wait to see that when you’re done.
We are still in a cold frozen winter here in Atlantic Canada. Our beaches along the Atlantic Ocean remain open and free of ice and my family and I are still able to explore for seaglass and other treasures while bundled up to bare the cold north wind. Your video took me back to warmer evenings and beautiful sunsets along the Gulf of St Lawrence where we vacation. Thank you for this beautiful interlude (sorry I yelled "there's one!" more than once at my computer screen 🙂 when noticing a few lovely pieces of seaglass).
Wonderful collection of sea glass, I lived near the beach in NE Florida for about 20 years and have a large jar left after covering the frame of a mirror with sea glass for my mother years ago. That buoy was beautiful!! This was a wonderful video from beginning to end and I look forward to your projects especially the dragon head lamp. Thanks Tom!
Thanks Debbie. I hope your mother liked the sea glass mirror, it sounds great, and I hope if you're still able, that you someday feel inspired to make something else with the remaining sea-glass. I'm glad you enjoyed the video 🙂
Omigosh, I would spend SO MUCH TIME on that first beach - the pebbles look like they hide lots of treasures! LOVED this video, Tom - you know how much I love gravel. :D
Thanks Katy, I love that little beach too... will have to get back there someday soon and maybe concentrate on the rocks instead of the glass. 🙂 It looks like you'll be hitting 10k subs very soon, (last time I looked ( yesterday, when I watched your last video), you were at 9.96). Congratulations in advance, you're very much deserving of your success.
@@tom_burleigh Thank you - it has been slow going compared to Alex and Theo, but I am proud of how far I have come. So when are you coming to Montana? :D
@@KatyDidRocks I try not to dwell on how fast other channels grow... some of the ones that came after me have passed my level. It doesn't matter much, only that we keep going, and have fun along the way 🙂. I wish I could say I'll visit Montana soon... but, though I am saving for travel,it's likely to be a UK coastline tour, and then Iceland, before the Americas.
Smashing video Tom. Tynemouth is the firstplace I remember from childhood (long time ago) But we only lived there for a short time before moving. If you get the opportunity try Whitley Bay and Seaton Sluice, Both are lovely little Beachcombing and Mudlarking areas.
Thanks Brian, Seaton Sluice looks interesting, I'll endeavour to get there next time I'm up that way; and Whitley bay of course... where my favourite curry restaurants are. 🙂
Hi Tom, hope you are keeping well and safe. What a treat to find your video tonight. So glad you like the insulator, thought the color was nice. Hope you and your girlfriend enjoy the maple syrup, it's quite good in vinegarettes for salad though my favorite of all things is on grapefruit halves poured liberally. Be Well and Happy.
Thanks again so much Alison. I'm keeping reasonably well, and safe, I hope you are too. I think the insulator is going to become a bedside light (with a little battery powered tea light under it), it's my girlfriend's favourite colour. I'll certainly try the syrup in a vinaigrette... might even try it on a grapefruit, (though haven't really liked grapefruit whenever I've tried, (I much prefer Pomelo)). 🙂
That same glorious sunset was here 8 hours after it was there. Some beaches do an excellent job rock tumbling the glass into smooth beautiful pieces. I loved that buoy, the colors and visible texture looked amazing. Thank you again for a lovely trip to a beach.
The brown rock cliffs were amazing. I am in a landlocked place, and no traveling fund, so I watch enviously as you were picking up the small pieces of sea glass.
I could spend all of daylight looking for pretty things on the sea shore, the sea glass is beautiful the blues are my favourite colour. The stones tend to distract me though so many interesting shapes and colours. Tom a beautiful video Thank you so much.
We have a beach about three hours from me, in California, called Glass Beach. It was a dump. What remains is an entire beach of sea glass. It is stunning to see the colors , cobalt and red being the most rare. I have spent many hours larking there.
Awesome video Tom, the walk along the beach was amazing, with nature’s beauty and the music she makes. So calming. Would love to see what you come up with for the dragon. Thank you for sharing your beautiful video, one of my favourites 🙏🙏🥰🥰👍👍👏👏💖💖
Hi Tom. I got very excited, and jealous when you plucked that gorgeous chunk of blue glass out from under the withered tree root. I'm always drawn to the large pieces of worn glass. They have survived better that the small pieces; they're like me in that respect. LOL Robust is good. ;) Thank you for this lovely interlude, as always. See you next time.
Tom, I really love the garden and patio area below your display window, what a wonderful place to sit and read or watch the fields below and the hills beyond. Please do make the scaled dragon, that is an inspiration well worth pursuing. I'm sure you've seen Nicola Whites glass fish, and perhaps ,in the not too distant future we'll enjoy Tom Burleigh's dragons as well. Your videos have never failed to sooth the soul, Tom Burleigh. Thank you for including us all in your Best Sunset Ever, rivaling the beauty of some of the sunsets of Hawaii or the Caribbean. Looking forward to your projects. ( :
Thank you so much for the beauty in your films! Good luck with your projects! As a knitter and quilter, I can relate in having many unfinished projects or UFO’s (unfinished objects). Cindy 🌸🌸🌸
Loved all that sea glass, but please save some for me :) Beautifully filmed with gorgeous sky's. I needed this to watch after the day I've had. Can't wait for the next one.
That large medium blue glass is wonderful. Maple Syrup is an amazing item. Yeung Man Cooking uses it for sweetening when he does his vegan Asian inspired cooking.
Yea Tom, you got good eyes, If I tried looking for those small pieces of glass, I'd probably go cross eyed. Beautiful rock formations and excellent storytelling, one day soon I'm going to start me a fish aquarium and load up the bottom of it with sea glass. I worked at some glass bottle manufactures in my younger years, and they used a lot of sand, sand is the major ingredient with extreme added heat to make the glass bottles and canning jars, etc. Conrads on your finds, you were picking and grinning that day.
Beautiful, beautiful video of that sunset Tom. Those patterns and colors in the sky just take one’s breath away. Lovely sea glass finds. Enjoyed the walk along those beaches, most appealing area is Tynemouth. Sue and Ian, Australia
I'm wondering if you could form the dragon's head from some kind of metal mesh, so that you could get the interior lighting to go through those tiny pieces of seaglass. I am imagining the shadows it will cast! Oh, what a worthy project for those "taken for granted" bits of sea glass!!! I hope you will "tame that dragon", into a lamp!!!
How do you beat such lovely sea glass and bleached white pipe stems? Simple, by mentioning a project to create a dragon's head lamp with sea glass scales 🐲 I'll be nagging you to make that one! Of course nothing beats the sun set, you caught it beautifully. Brilliant! 🙂😎🐼
You've definitely set yourself some challenging, but worthwhile craft projects. I hope we get to come along on some of that journey. Great video as usual, thanks.
Thanks Wes. Yes, I intend to film most of the actual attempts at these craft projects, and if they succeed... a video will hopefully be part of the result. 🙂
Loved this video. So many beautiful shots and really relaxing to watch. I loved the driftwood tree root that was a beautiful thing with the cloth and features on it. This was like being able to go walking along the beach myself. I miss it so much, but this is certainly the next best thing. Thank you so much.
The holed stones on the beach inspired me to dig out 3 holed stone necklaces I'd made years ago and forgotten about. I find them to be quite calming, so thank you for the inspiration. The small stones came from a creek in Washington state in the US.
What a beautiful area. Such rich history. Thankyou Tom. Your lamp project sounds fantastic, goodluck and enjoy. I'd be in my element amongst those stones with holes, love stones and rocks.
Lovely Tynemouth, I love walking around North Shields too. I live in Northumberland so love the opportunity to get out and explore. I know you’ve been to Berwick, which is a great wander and potter about. I’m just like you, collect the treasures, full of a head of imagination and excitement of what to create. Wash my finds, lay them out, love and admire them, then weeks later mmmh still sitting looking at me gathering dust and taking up valuable space 🙄 when will I learn! 😂.
I haven't gotten to North Shields coastline yet, but I hope to sometime; it would be great to have a closer view of one of those huge ships heading up the Tyne. I have to be very strict with myself when it comes to finds; I live in a very small house, so no more than one drawer for glass and pottery pieces, one for odd things and curiosities that aren't on display... no more than one windowsill for bottles and no more than 7 large storage boxes for copper and brass. Means I have to fill the sheds at my Dad's place. 😀
@@tom_burleigh haha, lucky there’s Dad’s sheds! It’s so hard to keep to certain spaces and keep the finds down! Mine trip into the garden! Sounds like you are brilliantly keeping to yours. Lovely view from the window, reminds me of my 10 years in Cumbria. At Tynemouth were the Coldingham statue stands, walk along the path to North Shields with places to potter on the shoreline, then it’s good to walk the hidden steps up to the top of North Shields, interesting architecture and views of the ships. There is the Stan Laurel garden there too near the converted watchtowers. We did a boat trip up the Tyne from just near the Millennium Bridge out to sea, it was really interesting and would do it again as I’m sure the different narrators offer varying info and style.
Thank you for background History on the area. In my world, one of the most beautiful sunsets are those on the seaside. Have you seen ‘My Octopus Teacher?’ Beautiful film.
Thanks Mick/Sarah. They'll probably start in late spring, I haven't filmed with it yet... and have a big stack of videos filmed without it, so it won't be used in most videos for another year, but I'll dot some in amongst the ones I've already filmed. 🙂
Evening! Charming and lovely visit once again. Looking forward to any more to come. With all the projects that pop up in my head, I've learned to just give them a go asap as I either abandon them or get frustrated by my lack of experience and let the doubts wash them out. So far, the tides of interests have no trouble tossing up new ideas. There's never a lack of "lol, what am I doing?" so we don't really need to hold on to it. I made some pretty good apple pancake stuff this morning, not much of a clue when I started, but once I got finished, I knew how I got those yummy cakes on my plate. Also, if you happen to find a hand crank apple/potato peeler at a 2nd had shop, I cannot express how ridiculously satisfying they are to use! Pampered Chef brand is the one I found and it peels, cores, and spiral slices at the same time. On bad days I will be bringing home a bag of apples from now on and drying them. I don't even care for apples that much, ;)
Thanks Mary... I'm certainly like that in the kitchen, I experiment with wild abandon and find some truly strange and wonderful flavour combinations. In Craft, I used to be like that too, but planning to film along the way has led me into the territory of complex and difficult projects, and skills that need to be learned before the thing is attempted. I'll get there... with some of my projects; never with all of them. I'm ok with that. I don't much care for apples either, but the goats down the lane love them. 🙂
Oh I had one of those wonderful peel/core/slicers, unfortunately I dropped it and the handle snapped off, I really need to replace it, such a useful kitchen gadget.
Mr Burleigh I came to your channel from my fellow Welsh folks channel 'The Johnsons'. What a delightful video, beautiful seaglass, scenery, the amazing remains of that bouy and the bonus of your wonderful, calm, relaxing voice. The glass insulator is stunning such a beautiful colour, I love the idea of your seaglass dragon lamp, being Welsh I'm rather fond of dragons..
Thanks Catherine. I'm very glad to count the Johnsons as my friends🙂, and I'm glad you found my channel through them... I hope you get a lot of enjoyment from my past and future videos, and that when it comes, the sea glass dragon lamp isn't a disappointment.
Where have you been? I check your TH-cam site almost daily but stumbled upon you elsewhere. It’s so nice to find you at the beach. The sunset and birdcalls were wonderful. Tear shaped segments of sea glass that can be joined to make a lamp shade would be pretty. Convex or concave shapes that undulate and turn… hmmm. My mind wanders.
Thank you Tom for another lovely video, I learn something new every time you upload a new video. I’m also looking forward to your crafting videos. I think it would be nice to watch you create some of the things you have in mind whilst listening to the music or maybe even just talking on a subject you find interesting 🧐
Thanks Sue. I've been planning on live streaming some of my crafting, as well as stand-alone videos... that would probably include conversation with the audience (on Twitch), and talking about anything and everything. I may even get around to it one day soon. 🙂
I do love your videos, Tom. The photography is beautiful and your voice is so soothing. The sky is lovely! Don't sell yourself short, your ideas for art projects sound great. The more you do, the better they become!
Thanks Kathryn. I agree, was quite surprised that I was the only person pointing a camera that way from the pavement. When I was watching the sunset on the beach, there were loads of people with cameras. 🙂
Always Happy to hear your voice...it never gets old always calm and relaxing. Hope you are doing well and staying safe and healthy 😷the separation of the seaglass was absolutely beautiful! Take care!
Another wonderful video with that soothing and calming voice of your's. Beautiful sea glass finds. Do hope you will consider doing a Christmas Story reading this year. Would be wonderful to hear on Christmas Eve. Stay safe and I hope you make another video soon.
Thanks Elizabeth. I do love beachcombing and being by the sea; I can't do videos of it all that often though, I live in the middle of the country. I am planning a driving holiday around the coast though, so maybe more beachcombing videos will happen 🙂
Hello Janice, I'm reasonably well, thank you. I'm glad that I'm able to get to some beautiful parts of the world, and glad people enjoy it when I show them. 🙂
Thank you for taking us with you Tom. What a beautiful place Tynemouth is. I hope you do try your project. It sounds incredible! Good luck and please stay safe!
It was magnificent... I wonder how often that place gets sunsets as good as that one. We get sunsets here quite often, but few come close to the one there. 🙂
Ahh , thank you Tom !! What a lovely place ! I've never been there , but would love to ! You've captured the beauty of the skies and birdsong ...Wishing you luck with the projects ahead
Thanks for sharing another wonderful video from your travels, Tom. The sound of the sea never fails to soothe my soul. Oh, and as for that sunset. . . just stunning. What an absolute belter!
Thanks Pauline, I hope it doesn't take me too long to get to that project. I'm glad that you enjoyed the sunset, I think it was one of the best I've seen.🙂

I can see the dragon from the sea!
I always hope to see the dragon, I'm glad you got to see it. 🙂
Another great video! Can’t wait to see what you create! Enjoyed the music and scenery! Thank you
Thank you for sharing the scenery
I'm glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
Love your finds today Tom
I noticed and very much enjoyed your new (or at least different from usual) guitar background music.
Great video tom when will we be seeing you drone vids ?
Thanks Mick/Sarah. They'll probably start in late spring, I haven't filmed with it yet... and have a big stack of videos filmed without it, so it won't be used in most videos for another year, but I'll dot some in amongst the ones I've already filmed. 🙂
Absolutely stunning! Thank you for sharing your holiday.
You're welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
@@tom_burleigh now thats a sweet way to get somebody's goat! Lol
Also its midnight, time for cocoa and Bedfordshire isn't it?
@@Feralfoundry Not quite for me, I tend to work till about 1am, I'll do a bit more editing on the next video.
Thank You for this wonderful video, so calming 🙋
Thanks Georgia, I'm glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
Thank you for this inspiring video , I'm determined to get to a seaside this year even if its just for a day . ❤
Excellent video 👍🇦🇺🦘 xxx
Thank you Siona 🙂
l really enjoy your videos, the insight you give, the places you lark in are all amazing. thank you . x
I do love your videos, Tom. The photography is beautiful and your voice is so soothing. The sky is lovely! Don't sell yourself short, your ideas for art projects sound great. The more you do, the better they become!
A lovely video Tom :) The priory ruins were stunning in the sunlight :)
Thanks Kathryn. I agree, was quite surprised that I was the only person pointing a camera that way from the pavement. When I was watching the sunset on the beach, there were loads of people with cameras. 🙂
@@tom_burleigh :)
Always Happy to hear your voice...it never gets old always calm and relaxing. Hope you are doing well and staying safe and healthy 😷the separation of the seaglass was absolutely beautiful! Take care!
Epic sunset.
It really was. Amazing standing on that beach, it felt like it was all around me. 🙂
Can't wait to see you project
I'm quite slow at getting them done, but will hopefully have some craft videos before the end of Summer. Fingers crossed. 🙂
@@tom_burleigh no worries mate. Is like to see you use the kilm again
@@59tante When there's a nice block of clear dry weather, I'll be lighting it up. 🙂
*Kia ora (hello) Tom, I enjoy your videos.... those sunsets on the beach were spectacular.*
Thanks Andrea, I agree... haven't seen many sunsets like that, and being by the water when it happened made it all the more special. 🙂
Another wonderful video with that soothing and calming voice of your's. Beautiful sea glass finds. Do hope you will consider doing a Christmas Story reading this year. Would be wonderful to hear on Christmas Eve. Stay safe and I hope you make another video soon.
Enjoyed this Video it made a nice change one of my favourite pastimes is Beech Combing being by the sea is always exhilarating 🐚
Thanks Elizabeth. I do love beachcombing and being by the sea; I can't do videos of it all that often though, I live in the middle of the country. I am planning a driving holiday around the coast though, so maybe more beachcombing videos will happen 🙂
Beautiful footage!
Beautiful video, enjoyed it very much, thankyou Tom.
Thanks Jo, I'm glad you liked it. 🙂

Beautiful sunset!
Certainly one of the top 5 that I've ever experienced. It was magical 🙂
Hello Tom. How are you? Thank you for showing me parts of the world I would, otherwise, never see.
Hello Janice, I'm reasonably well, thank you. I'm glad that I'm able to get to some beautiful parts of the world, and glad people enjoy it when I show them. 🙂
beautiful
Thank you for taking us with you Tom. What a beautiful place Tynemouth is. I hope you do try your project. It sounds incredible! Good luck and please stay safe!
Hi! Missed you!!
Fine sandpaper on your dirty clay pipes will bring them up a treat 👍🏻 x fee
Thanks Fee, I'll give that a try. 🙂
@@tom_burleigh the ones I find in dumps are always covered in rust and to make my wee clay pipe characters, I clean them up that way 👍🏻 glad to help
So good to be on a beach…calming for the mind, sunset was stunning 😌
It was magnificent... I wonder how often that place gets sunsets as good as that one. We get sunsets here quite often, but few come close to the one there. 🙂
Nice place tynemouth.20mins away from us.The Seaham sea glass is thin on the ground now.To many people picking it,everyday.
Thanks NJ, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I agree, that sunset was amazing. 🙂
It will be nice to see what you make with all that lovely sea glass . Love the shots of the beach 🏖 and the sunset 🌅. Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks Pauline, I hope it doesn't take me too long to get to that project. I'm glad that you enjoyed the sunset, I think it was one of the best I've seen.🙂
