What a journey we have been on with this Audi r8 v8! This has been a dream car of mine since i was 17 and to finally own one has been everything i have every imagined and some more!

Why has he not discussed about the low compression in the cylinders? The engine needs to be done
@@viktormitic822 cylinder 1 has lower compression correct but not enough to cause and power loss or running issues. Ive drove over 2000 miles to scotland and back since and i use it as a daily. If i were going to supercharge it then it would need attention but as im not it runs well. The power loss was cause by the vacuum pipe which was fixed

Moin H yeah you’re right, all that 40k is profit really. And him getting 40k for a car that’s had so many issues is a right touch for him, wouldn’t get anywhere near that selling privately, that’s why he always does these competitions

For £15, i doubt anyone would care, the paintwork is in shite underneath the wrap aswell. He hasn't hidden anything..
Oh I think I was missing some video bud didn't see if he done anything to this compression I remember he go to specialist and they said need striped engine and inspection the block for lekage and cracks or I'm wrong?
Must be emotional to give it away. Regarding the amount of tickets I think you should make it infinite. I dont think anyone subscribed or who has commented will disagree that we want you to make some profit to give you more funds to make content for us. You deserve it for the hard work your putting into it.
The only problem making it infinite is that it makes the chances of winning extremely low. At least with a limited amount of tickets you know exactly what your chances are.

I do agree with you Lewis that Mat should get some compensation at least for all his effort and I'm sure a happy medium can be reached re ticket numbers. This is what he does for a living and should be making at least something out of his time and effort plus skill etc. I would say at least £10K would be a good starting point. Would be interesting for @Mat Armstrong

@@w3dal I don't like to be negative but I'm just being honest, whoever wins this car will need to invest a fair amount to get the engine sorted it's not going to be cheap. The other options are to sell the car, replace the engine or drive as is risking even further potential damage.
@@w3dal just looked at the engine prices 20k average, i found a bare refurbished engine for around 8k that's the cheapest on eBay.

Giving a audi r8 with low compresion on one cylinder wow, the techs at the garage said the whole engine needs to be done just search on yt there is a video of his car not passing the compression test

Yes that’s if I were going to supercharge it. But since I’ve fixed the power issue the car runs 100% I’ve drove over 2000 miles to scotland and back and I drove it daily I think if it needed replacing I wouldn’t have made it far

I have a 2004 audi S4 V8 avant 6spd black on black.. Im working on coolant sensor and cam sensors. Finding a mechanic who doesnt say audis are garbage and not worth it as they disrespect it. I love this machine. And i love driving it. If u ever get a chance to put together a manual rs4 b6 or b7 id love to watch the series. Cheers mate. From nova scotia canada..

But I can understand the breakdown of costs and stuff in this video and if he wants to continue his channel for our amusement, He has to have quite a lot of money to do so.. So with that said, I really like the transparency.

I know some might think you are making a lot of money - but in reality if you calculate the amount of time and effort you put into this, the basis of the competition is very fair. Nah it would probably be fine with a new piston and hone. Then again, its an Audi r8 so..........8 pistons and hones?
If I were to supercharge it yes it would be clever to replace it. But the car runs the correct power now and I daily the car with no issues (obviously driving to Scotland and back)
even if so, you get R8 for £15, I would be ok with buying 8pistons if I get it I guess ;)
