@@ElZedLoL nope, wild rift entered the market too late, and with the announcement of the death of the eSports scene for it, the games pretty much dead.
It's huge here in the Philippines. People from all walks of life play it because of its accessibility. All my friends who I used to play League with have transitioned to playing ML. The quality of the game is definitely low especially if you're playing in mid tier because it's either you smash your opponents hard or you get smashed together with your teammates who don't give a f*ck what is happening in the game (they are mostly kids whose parents or siblings let them play on their phone). It can get competitive, but it's not worth the time unlike the League (and Wild Rift) where the ceiling is high especially for skill expression. My friends know it's a rip off, but it's none of their business.
This is absolutely an Asia hit, because over in the UK I heard nothing about this until I made some friends over in Asia. Wild that its popped off so much but fair I guess, shame about the kinda obvious copying (tho I imagine this is how DOTA players felt when seeing league for the first time lol)
Just got back to that game mainly because they have a fun champ that somehow League doesn't have, the guy's ult is literally a car that you can drive across the map and it doesn't end unless you hit the terrain or an enemy champ. It's super fun i wish if league had something like that but the closest we got is Sion's ult which is lame lol.
I will never understand League players having the gall to call other MOBAs copies, when that's exactly what their game was to DotA players. LoL was formed because Pendragon couldn't monetize DotA.
Eh, i can see where they are comeing from, but lets be real here, riot made TOO many original ideas for them to be called a copy, sure first few years but then they are on there own (but i did heard the dude that worked in dota and then riot toke the ideas from a dota fan base) but then Ml did the same thing..... And still do

I am from Indonesia and MLBB is so gigantic here, its because they came to Indonesian market so early than any other Mobile MOBAs and of course the gameplays simplicity make them grow so quick in the past few years. beside that in PC MOBAs market DOTA is more popular than LOL in Indonesia making LOL obscure in majority of Indonesian people
@@quin9627 also the fact that most SEA people have handphone but not pcand most US/UK people have pc amd prob have hp but not used so much as SEA people
it's so simple almost no skill expression can be done, items can be bought anywhere, so no proxy strategy will work, can't also deny significant cs via push because of how little the map is
I play lol before but I stopped during college. I want to come back but it became very complicated for me, I got more stress instead of enjoyment after work. Kids in my area introduced me to MLBB and got hooked, very simple and lots of freebies even if you play without paying. Skins has special attributes though like tanks with skin has 100hp extra, ADC will have extra damage.
Go to practice mode and compare the attributes screen for no skin and with skin, you'll notice that having a skin doesn't actually change your attributes anymore
I started League in season 3. But was always looking for a perfect mobile game. I've tried them all. Peaked at mythic in mlbb, and that's what I attribute my success in wild rift too 😂

Back in 2021 in m3 world championship NA reached 3rd place that's the moment moonton give NA official tournament not just a qualifier and started giving them attention to actually try to make the game big there. The eSports scene of this game is actually slowly growing in NA😅
Because you can achieve 2-4 games in an hour, can play from mostly anywhere with a connection. Also esports in MLBB is growing esp on the NA scene. And this is good for everybody else as this game isn't dominated by CN nor KR
2-3 games if you're fast. 4 however is just impossible, the reason being mlbb devs changed it so that games would take more time to finish and allow for late game and such. Before you can end in 10-15 min, now it's just minimum of 20-30 min 😂

The same way how DOTA players react to league on its first couple years LMAO. The cycle just repeats itself. I play DOTA, League of Legends, Wild Rift, Mobile Legends, SMITE, Arena of Valor. They're completely different games and playstyles. Like the META, rotations, etc. You can't do the same playstyle mechanics and rotations you do to these different games. @@nayeonfanboy9278 that depends, I've been there too. You forget attack speed lets you chase down with Kalitta auto without needing a target so when you snowball hard, nothing is safe, not even stupid talon skill upgraded Ling.
well riot sue mooton way too late in the game now if i remember correctly they started to sue moontoon when riot is going to or already launch the LOL wildrift which is at that time mlbb has less and less similarities to LOL and maybe riot sue moontoon because they are having a hard time competing with mlbb in mobile MOBA
Nah this is false. Riot (specifically tencent, the parent company) won the first lawsuit they sent Moontoon way back in 2016. I do believe they won 2/3 million USD? Which is basically a slap on the wrist for companies this big. If I remember correctly that was the reason why the bang bang was tacked on
Let me correct myself. The first lawsuit was filed in 2017 by riot games, but the court said china had jurisdiction, so tencent filed a lawsuit against moontoon for riot. Tencent won for 19.4M RMB or 2.9M USD in 2018.
When a game is so easy to learn it gets more traction. I personally enjoy League more. No not playing League just watching, I don't need more brain damage in lifem
there are reasons ml is successful, most games that copies other games and doesn't blow up so you cant just say a game is good/popular because it copies another games
Bro not all attribute ml have for its champions can be traced from leauge because same could be said toward league of legend and dota, dota being the earliest moba game in this concept in particular. If you look closely they may seen copy in hindsight but have difference you could not claim it as a copy if its not exactly the same.
Most people from developing nations cant afford a relatively cheap PC , but they definitely can afford a mobile phone since they needed it for work anyways. Thus kids in these region are more likely to have a phone than a pc . So that+ moba + ease of access = huge playerbase and viewership. Go figure , NA boomer gaming market is a decade behind. Also not to mention , Riot turning a blind eye on SEA but focusing on the dead NA region for the past decade had made them lose 1 of the player base of the densest region of people around the world.
Ml is big in SEA I dont play it But majority of people i know that plays in their mobile Plays it And people dont pc or have a pc( which is big amount of us) Knows ml more than lol Whenever i play lol in pc or even wildrift, people assume im playing ml which kinda annoys me I just say no this is the original one ( when i say original i meant which ml copied not the, og and forget dota Or the starcraft one) I thinks thats the reason we got wild rift early access in sea Becuz people play more mobilr games here and ml actually dominates here in mobile
For ML, most of the casual playerbase are noobs. Some players who reach mythic are in the middle of being pro and noob, while mythical glory players and mythical immortal players are the pros of the game. Most players in ML do not play very well, but there are a few outliers, and in the esports scene, ML has its very own share of crazy outplays
Younger people get shorter attention span. Remember how DOTA players reacted when LOL released? Lots of it were also copied but eventually got changed and gotten better. LOL's game duration is shorter than DOTA. MLBB's game duration is way shorter than LOL's game duration. I play all of these games. RIOT released Wild Rift but did it succeed? Not in SEA. Because I think the average game duration is 20-25 mins. MLBB's average game duration is only 10-15 mins. That gap is huge in my opinion. Plus, I think it's too late. Attention span is a key thing here. Same analogy like how massively successful Reels, Shorts, and Tiktok is right now in SEA or in other parts of the world as well. Mobile gaming is huge in SEA, and as far as I know, in other regions, PC and console games are still the first choice.
Its not the attention span but because almost everyone in SEA needs to feed their family they will always be busy.A 12-20mins of gameplay won't take too much of thief time. And because Mlbb is on low end device most people from SEA region can play it anywhere at anytime.
People who are saying they still have wild rift please dude... wild rift is dead bruh... there are two reason, wild rift is made for like medium to high spec device and most sea people doesn't have that kind of device and mlbb is really low spec game thats why they play it lol. The second reason wild rift came in really late to the market... not only that knowing mlbb is a rip off version of league riot didn't sue them because they think they are a cheap ass game in the beginning... but now its become big and riot goes to shamble by pushing wild rift but become a waste because unless bang bang get banned there is no chance people playing wild rift in sea 😅

If they would establish a circuit for wild rift I am sure the player count is more then ML, there is obviously (apparently) an audience for competitive mobile mobas so RIOT could really capitalize off that. I think they already have competitive WR in Korea but that’s it I believe?
Your English sounds good, but why do you not know the difference between "then" and "than"? So many people use the word "then" when comparing something, and it never fails to trigger me every time.
They tried to do that two years ago, but then just abandoned it at end of last year. Just to give a sense of the scene here in Malaysia, there one OG League player Ozoraveki. Out of nowhere, this mpl season 11 started and he was back on a team roster as a coach. He even went to SEAgames as a coach.
Most of asia already have a scene established, but china dominates Wild Rift esports scene because they already have the structures and skill sets brought in from KPL, Korea is a close second/third with SEA, also China and Korea had some ex league players move into wild rift during its initial phase like Misayah and LoveLin

Esports charts is inaccurate anyway, it doesn’t take into account the Chinese streams since the flare system makes it impossible to know how much actual viewers there are - you can only estimate but with Chinese viewership the games wouldn’t even be close
Mobile Legends doesn't have Chinese viewership though. They only recently got approved to publish their game in China and have only begun test servers there.
MLBB was basically Riot paying for their hubris. People were begging for Riot to make a mobile version of League, and Riot outright refused to do so. That's when Moonton said "screw it, I'll do it myself." And that's not all. Riot then tried to sue Moonton for copying their stuff. They got laughed out of court, both in the US and in China. In order not to make Riot completely lose all semblance of dignity, China did eventually order Moonton to change their game's name, hence the words "Bang Bang". You know what the best part is? Riot couldn't name their own mobile version of League "mobile League of Legends", because the same rule that made Moonton rename their game likewise prevents Riot from using "mobile" and "legends" now.
Using economic condition to bring down the success of the game is just so wrong. SEA have progressed so much in the last 10 years. I have 2 pcs and a laptop. A good number of high school and college students have their own laptop and pc especially during the pandemic when classes are held online (even public schools). MLBB is just popular because its fun to play and easy to understand. Also they made collaboration with huge companies such as kitkat, mobile service providers, banks, local artist and vloggers and more.
Pros and Cons to playing ML if I consider the view of someone who usually plays League Of Legends: +Short matches and an even shorter queue time +Items can be bought anywhere in the map +Most META heroes aren't difficult to use for a League user +Play anywhere as long as you have data and battery -A really really greedy way of selling skins, tho I'm sure you guys are used to it (nudge nudge 400$ Ahri skin) -Game may be too fast paced for beginners, adding in the skill effects of skins might cause seizures to some -Game is brighter than League and more colorful so it might distract the League Mindset -Its on a phone, and PC gamers HATE mobile phone games
China is now getting MLBB. Now, the US will take notice once this blew up in China, which has a high probability of doing so because mobile games esports generally are getting more respect (people don't consider mobile gaming as legit gaming before). The only reason this hasn't blown up in the west because Riot Games has control of the West. This is the reason why MLBB has been regarded as a LoL rip-off for more than 5 years already (at least it really started that way). Wild Rift entered the mobile scene but is already too late because Riot has too much high ego they don't wanna touch on mobile potential. In fact, recently, they've given up on Wild Rift esports scene entirely and the only one doing esports on it is China and SEA. I wouldn't be surprised if next year this blow up in the west. Mobile Gaming has huge potential ever since and companies are just now realizing it. PUBG and COD at least recognized it. LOUD esports, a huge name in Valorant, literally started in Mobile Gaming esports, in Freefire. Gaming companies should realize it's not all about the graphics. In fact, it's sometimes a hindrance. The PC requirements for PC games nowadays is getting crazier, and some of them turns out to be dogsht. This is why games like Genshin Impact really takes time to compress and adjust everything in order to accomodate even potato phones because they know the potential of mobile. Even Diablo transitioning to mobile (which I actually don't like), proved quite beneficial to them because they're making money.

well it looks familiar because it is a MOBA too. while its true that on its early days it has too much similarities to LOL. but nowadays it do not have that many similarities to LOL now. there are still some issues of copy right here and there but if you compare it to other mobile MOBO it is one of the least similar to LOL. riot sue moonton for copyright but only after mlbb became big in SEA so big that wild rift is having a hard time competing against mlbb. riot sue moonton too late where mlbb has too little similarities to LOL but if riot sue moonton way earlier on its early day riot would definitely win. but riot sue it after or just before the launch of wild rift it makes me suspicious that riot sued moonton because they having hard time competing with ml in mobile MOBA.
Riot suing ML right after/before releasing wild rift is like a strategic marketing. Like, hey we're releasing a game, we're suing ML bcoz they're the illegal copy of us while we are the original copy, come play lol wr and quit ml. Too bad it's already too late 😅
Mobile Legends got lucky, as they were one of the first MOBAs that are stable and optimized enough for potato smartphones, together with decent gameplay at the time. Better MOBAs got released later on, but everybody is already playing MLBB by this time. Only F2P players would switch to another game. Not going to lie, it was fun when I got addicted to it, still might be better than most MOBAs on mobile to this day. Most people from developing nations cant afford a relatively cheap PC , but they definitely can afford a mobile phone since they needed it for work anyways. @nushia7192 they don't, it's still on open beta
I love Caedrel and thanks for pointing that out ML really copied League
..... You do know blind people like Lee sin can see it is a rip off right?
MLBB was basically Riot paying for their hubris. People were begging for Riot to make a mobile version of League, and Riot outright refused to do so. That's when Moonton said "screw it, I'll do it myself."
And that's not all. Riot then tried to sue Moonton for copying their stuff. They got laughed out of court, both in the US and in China. In order not to make Riot completely lose all semblance of dignity, China did eventually order Moonton to change their game's name, hence the words "Bang Bang".
You know what the best part is? Riot couldn't name their own mobile version of League "mobile League of Legends", because the same rule that made Moonton rename their game likewise prevents Riot from using "mobile" and "legends" now.
damn boy, you the PR guy for moonton or why you suck their boots so much 😂😂
Actually the best part of it is that not only did Riot never won a case vs Moonton, Moonton WON and made RIOT pay them money XDDDDD
Pros and Cons to playing ML if I consider the view of someone who usually plays League Of Legends:
+Short matches and an even shorter queue time
+Items can be bought anywhere in the map
+Most META heroes aren't difficult to use for a League user
+Play anywhere as long as you have data and battery
-A really really greedy way of selling skins, tho I'm sure you guys are used to it (nudge nudge 400$ Ahri skin)
-Game may be too fast paced for beginners, adding in the skill effects of skins might cause seizures to some
-Game is brighter than League and more colorful so it might distract the League Mindset
-Its on a phone, and PC gamers HATE mobile phone games
Maybe Genshin, Mobile Legends and LOL has a same charateristic: their parent companies are all Chinese companies (mihoyo, Moonton and Tencent)

@@RinrinFran stat bonuses on skins are so small they don't change anything. I hv nvr heard of ppl complain about skins being harder to see or having weird hitboxes. And the battle pass is like 6 dollars a month seems reasonable 2 me
Not to be that guy but why are people shtting on Mobile legends. It was released long before wild rift. Is it copying a lot of stuff from lol? Yes. Did league copied a lot of stuff from Dota? Yes. Did dota got the game from a mod of blizzard's warcraft? Yeah. So no company has the right to make a sound about copying.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 everybody know which one is the cheap Copycat
im actually GM in mobile legends, it is pretty fun :)
also i main wanwan and didnt actually know she got a new skin! ty caedrel!
tbh its super easy to rank up especially if you are good in league. I remember playing with a friend only around 20 days and we got to legend. Then we got bored of it and never played it again.
the video showcasing the skin came out 3 years ago... don't think it's a new skin
@@thebeastmaster2710i was harstuck gold in LoL, and havent played it for 3years before I got to ML, and easily got to legend on my very 1st season as well. ML's not too challenging, tho I played it more compared to LoL w/c probably is 7yrs ago lmao. Tho I never watched competitive ML
ew
@@combeebrian247 I’d say it’s easier to 1v9 on MLBB than league, making it easier to rank up
I cant play league bc the qeue time for a match is like 20 - 40 minutes, also the ping in sea is so bad
DotA, HoN, LoL similar but not the same
Why MLBB is literally copy is the map, the bush, color and concept, characters skills and even their skin and splash art... (9/10 definitely a copy)
I am playing DotA in the past, then HoN and lastly LoL...
Then after LoL... there's suddenly MLBB that I didn't need to think twice that everything is almost the same with LoL except the location of 'Baron' and 'Dragon' in the middle of the river...
All of this just because Riot is so slow with Wild Rift...
But then again chinese with their plagiarism... (Cheap copy)
Toys, Phone, Clothes, or any popular product...
Imagine copying over a more popular game and getting higher viewership. Couldn't be Riot Games...
You don't know how obsessed Indonesians and Filipinos are in this game. Watching tournaments is mandatory for them + the schedule is good because the venue is always here in SEA
@@blitzcrank4840 I get it I am from India mobile games are just more popular in Asia. I was just saying that League kinda copied Dota 2 so they can't get too high and mighty XD
because it's giga popular in Asia, China specifically, mobile gamming is huge in China
I mean to be fair esport chart doesn't add Chinese viewership. For example, Riot confirmed 2021 world finals had 73 million people watching, and 69 million were from China. LoL viewership would be much larger than mlbb.
@@extraterrestiaI bruh, League didn't copy Dota 2 it predates it. Both copied the original Dota.
That's sad this guy compares a pc game to a mobile game to get his serotonin😭🤣
Honestly lets be honest, Mobile Legend is popular on mobile, and LOL is popular in PC...but if you look at wildrift...that is basically LOL. So in the end, ML is more popular than LOL. Copy are almost always better than Original.
All I see are a bunch of gate keeping and superiority complex
Different market, Mlbb is not really being played by "gamers" like your clasic nerd, sitting on internet cafe, watching anime and movie, and whatever. Mlbb is actually have probably the biggest casual non gamers players on online game ever. Like some man with 9-5 job, your sport friend in your high school, some adult like as old as your dad type a people, the non gamer couples playing it, the children that normaly playing roblox or fortnite. It is also translate to their esport scene, a lot of those people is not a gamers, they don't watch or playing other games, that is their first and only game/esport scene. It is a different vibe and culture, like these esport game is being played in your local pub and cafe and restaurant to watch by casual people, like there is a freaking dad with 2 kids watching Mlbb esport while drinking coffee and smoking in his local pub 😂. Like don't get me wrong Faker is a legend, but only gamers that know him after he retires. Some of those South East Asian players is literally on sponsorship deal like a freaking celebrity.
It's not a copy they have heroes ultimate more characters then league
The actually got sued 😂 but company rich af
Literally everyone in the Philippines plays the game.
But wtf is this audio why does it always suck in the clips?
its edited to EQ out copyright music, if a youtube clip ever sounds like its underwater its because of that
do? Worldwide playing ML?
Here in Philippines in Internet Cafes prior pandemic, Kids play LOL while grownup play DOTA2.
Mlbb is basically more simpler than other LOL/Dota based games ( at least from my personal experience after playing aov first then mlbb afterward ), that's why when the dev announced their upcoming project with just lil bit more complicated system/mechanisms, some of their players giving their protests already 😂 even when the update didn't yet implemented 😂
Even from aov players perspective, that's pathetic tbh 😂
i tried this when i was on vacation to singapore philippines and thailand it was definitely a rip off but seeing how i dont wanna offend anyone but the countries in south east asia looks underdeveloped i can see why this would be more popular since everyone has phones but not everyone has pcs still cant believe a blatant rip off can perform this well and a game barely even heard of
Still cant believe???? Bruh read first para of your comment u will find ypur answer right thrre.
Singapore is not underdeveloped lol
Mobile legends is super big in my country, even had pros be imported to other countries
I could see men and women play it even on bus
but I sticked with wild rift cause it's more polished and Fun fact mobile legends has no role queue so it's a fuck fest whether its ranked or not
I played it once and got the highest rank in less than a month, it doesn't even feel rewarding
When we getting a bang bang stream Pedro?
Yeah Dota sounds familiar right when it comes to LoL
