Just back from shooting John Garrett’s first Elite Series victory on the Harris Chain of Lakes. But that’s not all, then we are joined by trail blazing female angler Kristine Fischer. My tournament experience is going on 45 years, and now as a spectator....I see so many contestants with the wrong focus. It's going to be so much easier than what you are thinking. Fishing from a kayak and because of it's travel limitations, it is very important that you are fishing where the fish are.... it seems that so many anymore think they will find the right bait in the right color, and all that makes no difference, if you are fishing where there are no fish.

Great show! I’ve been following Kristine for a while on the Kayak trails and she is a great strategist when it comes to tournament fishing. She is not the most consistent angler on the Kayak trail but her real strength is knowing how to win. She probably will not qualify for the Elites her first year but I fully expect her to pull off a win and get her Classic berth fairly quickly. I don’t care if she’s inexperienced in a bass boat she knows how to win a big event, don’t underestimate her.

I’m glad Kristine is finally jumping in the front of the boat. I hope she does good at this next chapter in her fishing career. I think she will do better than what she thinks. I've been following Kristine on Insta and TH-cam. She just amazes me on how she can defy gravity on her kayak, A Lot Like Mike Iaconelli. She can run around that thing like she is on a 100 foot barge. I ended up the wrong way in the water the first time I took mine out, lost 4 rods and dunked my $900 helix and I was sitting on the seat. She is an absolute Hammer on big fish also. You have to have her on more in the future.

I think you hit the nail on the head with the Denny Brauer comparison. These young guns that just know fishing as a way to make a living, have no career to sacrifice if they try and don't succeed, or family to support, or mortgages to pay. Not hating, it is just a fact that they have their whole life ahead of them to make the necessary changes needed should the Elites not work out. That's where the ability to fish free helps them. Not hating by any means. Just pointing out what I've been thinking the last few years, as I've seen these guys come up through the ranks. When I was thinking of try to go pro in the mid 2000's, I would have been throwing away a career that has now been over 30 years with the same company.... I honestly didn't have the balls to make the leap like a lot of others did. Just life, different Era. Nothing against him, but Trey Mckinney, if things don't work out, can go back and work at his parents business or go to college...or whatever. But he only has himself to worry about. Again, he's a stud, and I hope guys like him make it and can set an example for those yet to come. Always enjoy the shows brother.

Dave Tell Kristine that Rick Clunn drives his boat 45 mph ! No pressure to drive 75 mph to complete! It will take several years to operate a 250 horsepower 20 ft boat at a safe proficient way !
