Watching someone you’re singing harmony with is a way to synchronize the phrasing. That doesn’t mean you’re wrong but there could be some hardcore logic afoot here as well.

These two sound really great together. Respect for George Michael. Not too many can hold their own with the Maccaman.
This is such a clear example of Paul's abilities to play a bass line and sing a melody line at the same time. Many bass players are able to do so, but it isn't as easy as they make it look. The muscle memory required to play while singing is such that it's not thought about consciously.

Im in a band called The Tigers i play Bass and do vocals its quite hard actually haha you do get use to it but for a first time its hard.
You should see the real James Paul McCartney (1942-1966). This is Billy, and he is a weak bass player. Paul was a genius.

All that talent on one stage. If only George had a sense of how much he was loved by people all around the world maybe he'd still be with us. It was not just his talent but the character of the man that people loved.
Billy Bronco read his old tweets he knew he was loved he died of natural causes he had Pneumonia in 2011 and that probably damaged his heart the media is trying to sensationalize his death to overshadow his legacy he is not a drug casualty and he was happy when he passed he was looking forward to the Holiday it just was not to be its shattering but I do have peace knowing he was happy in his life and he just went to sleep no suffering no sadness no pain I do not accept the pain is for us left behind
George had a great sense of humor - was never shy of making fun of himself. Had a big heart. Big talent! So sad people like that leave early....

Their vocals are equally good. Paul is playing a finger-knacking bass riff too. And playing bass and singing is like performing two different songs at the same time.
When I was about 14 my sister [who is 5 years younger than I am: yes she was some kind of freak] tried to teach/tell me about bass. I'm in my 60's now, and to this day I still think people who can do that as well as McCartney are all other-wordly-genius like creatures.

I remember how Bono and Bruce Springsteen both said they could not believe it when they performed live with Macca. Imagine sharing a stage with one of the actual Beatles. Amazing. George was a huge fan of the Beatles. And as a writer he could not have met anyone more influential and legendary.
