    This one scene was genuine, very relatable and true to life in my opinion. Her being over come by a wave of grief just by the sight of his records rings very true. I lost my son 5 years ago and just the other day I went up to my attic to put up my Christmas decorations and I came across my sons box of “little golden books” he always had me read for him before bed and I just collapsed and lost it. Just the mere sight of them made my heart sink to my knees and automatically I felt the tears welling up. People say that material things mean nothing, but that’s not true. The memories attached to those things are worth more than gold and even though they remind you of the happiness you once felt with that person, it’s hurts like hell.

      It still happens to me some morings after waking up. It's been almost 14 years since my Dad passed. I remember telling a friend a few weeks after the funeral that I had a little spot in the back of my head that wanted to be filled with my Dad's approval of me handling the situation of living without him quite well, am I not? That spot is no longer there but I still talk to him sometimes, or I hear a piece of music or a joke or piece of news and it just hits me that he would love it

      There's something about the phone that makes it almost easy to forget they're gone. I used to call my mom every day at around 11 am. It's been 16 years since she passed and I can't tell you how many times I want to share some news with her. I think it's a reflection of how fortunate we are to have had them in our lives.

    The sight of personal things of someone you love and miss hurts so bad. I haven’t lost anyone lovable yet, but my cousin recently struggled with leukemia and was out of home for 8 months.. for chemotherapies. And the fact that I was seeing his room empty without him inside and only his stuff.. God I was missing him so much. But thankfully I was lucky cause I could just call him and tell him that I miss him, and I think about him all the time, and that I love him..

    • @jenjem5810
      @jenjem5810 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      You can be rich and have a huge towards unit and you can be frazzled because your husband just died. That has nothing to do with money. And as for taking friends to a storage unit, that is a very brilliant move. the last thing she needs is to be surrounded in an ocean of boxes, along and have something trigger her. Kind of unkind to see a person recently widowed and be potshotting at them.I never realized that the Carrie character was hated. That's news to me. That's just coming up to the surface now all of these hostile comments against her. Baffling.

    Why is everyone so upset about the 'storage unit'. I mean, come on guys.
    Since it looks, in fact, like an office building, the easiest explanation is, that it was a room, Mr. Big already had a lease for. Or was he retired from whatever the hell a Finanzier does? I didn't actually watch the series yet, so I don't know.
    But if he wasn't, he probably had office space and people working for him and stuff. So Carrie probably used it as storage space, after everybody had cleaned their stuff out. Or it was an empty office, someone lend or rented to her to her as a favor. She's well connected and very wealthy after all, so it's really not all that hard to explain.

      I have taken friends to my storage unit. Sometimes they are hot, or boring. But you need the emotional support to go through the place you stored your parents last nest. Or where you have stored your belongings, then had a life altering accident, and they got stuck there @$240 per month,months on end. Yes, you take your friends. Because it's far too traumatic and overwhelming to go alone or you take your neighbors that have become your friends because after breaking your hands you literally are not able to pull the boxes around to see the writing. They might be marked, but you have to physically haul them down and hold them out to your vehicle. Yes. Friends do take friends..
