I have a somewhat unique situation where I have a very large open room that I want to use a portion of it for a home theater. I can’t add walls, so I can only sound proof two sides. I have been researching industrial acoustic curtains - what you’d see in a conference Hall when they split the room into two in order to temporarily create separate rooms for separate conference speakers. Would you be interested in talking to me about this? I’d like to make sure I get it right, and perhaps it would make video material for you?

I'm in the process of turning an existing room into a theatre room. Plans are to rip out the dry wall add acoustic insulation, then resilient channel and clips. I'm just a little confused with this video as the one I just watched prior you said to use Green Glue over MLV. I'd planned to use MLV as its easier to obtain here in Australia. Just wonder if you could steer me in the right direction. Cheers

You can use green glue over mlv but in all honesty, I just use one or the other. MLV is more effect than green glue but more expensive. You can certainly use both together but I find it unnecessary.

@@soundproofguide Thank you for your prompt reply. I had planned to staple the MLV to the studs prior to the fitment of the resilient channel, then double dry wall. Is that an acceptable method ?

      @@low3603 That would work yes.

Hey man! Your videos are great but with so many options it's almost hard to choose the best ones. If possible, could you give me some advice for my particular room and how to effectively? If you have any social media I'd love to send you some pictures and if need I can pay you for your advice.

what would you recommend for soundproofing on a riser? I'm planning to put in a 18" riser for a 2nd row.

Take the drywall off...really? Not difficult or costly?

Most of his recommendations are not what many would do or better yet even work. There is alot that goes into what you do with your theater room such as size of room, speaker placement, and size of your system. Trust me I know. And through trial and error.

Did you chromakey yourself into a photo of a theater room for your thumbnail... that doesn't actually exist in your video...
