I’m not sure about 20 but for sure a 10-13 year backup QB career with some starting years mixed in. Dude has it all, good arm talent, good athleticism, good accuracy in tight window throws, very competitive, toughness to put his body on the line to win. He has a big game this week for sure!
"probably won't ever start" lol what? There isn't 20 QBs better than him rn, and hes only going to keep improving every year with his crazy work ethic.
I can promise you. If Bagent get a 2nd chance, there ain't no going back to the bench again and it's Caleb that will DEFINITELY be going to the bench. Tyson's debut, he played good and didn't much to utilize and was still able to move the chains and get everybody involved. Bagent with this new high improved offense. Bagent could go crazy. And I don't wanna hear about no offensive line being bad either, because you still gotta move the chains, regardless how the offensive line is. That's why as a QB, you gotta learn to adapt and adjust with your offensive line.
Caleb will get the rest of this season. Next year if Caleb doesn’t show he’s worthy of a franchise qb I expect the bears to make the switch to bagent around game 8.
@@seanemerickthe absolute smartest thing to have done was let Tyson start this year and have Caleb sit. Tyson is the most fundamental QB we’ve had in recent years, give Caleb a year to sit and soak. Give Tyson a year to prove his worth and trade him for better stock. And if Tyson had an MVP caliber season then you have him on a rookie contract for 3 more years still and can trade Caleb.
As a Packers fan, I've said this last year and I'll say it again, Bagent is the best QB on the Bears, even with Caleb starting. His pocket presence and awareness is what convinced me last year. He climbs the pocket well and is patient. Of course he made mistakes last year but his ceiling looks higher than Caleb or Fields did last year. If, the Bears let him go, there's no doubt in my mind he'll be a starting QB elsewhere..
facts, he should be starting this year with Caleb learning but the front office is too scared to do it and just did the safe optics route and started the #1 pick. Bad thing about that route, is that theyre gonna probably have to trade bagent next year for peanuts, and not even know how good he is or what his ceiling is because they never gave him a chance. If they trade him and he becomes a superstar somewhere else, im done with this franchise.
Thats what Im sayin...we might have a damn star and we have had him on the bench this whole time! Ive always liked Bagent, he brings something different..and the way CW is playing, maybe he's not ready or something so, I think we need to start thinking about Bagent if things just stay the same.
politics and cowardice. Its easy to start a "top prospect" cause noone is going to blame you if it doesn't work out. Sadly, Tyson will only get a shot if Caleb gets hurt, because they are too scared to do the right thing. Same reason they didnt continue starting Bagent when Fields got healthy again last year even though it was obvious they liked Bagent better.. they are cowards. An actual good coach would have 100% stayed with Bagent, just like Shanahan did with Purdy.
Caleb Williams is looking spooked in the pocket. He's not even remotely used to NFL defenses. So there's going to be a QB starter duel again if Caleb doesn't get his act together soon.
theyre too big of cowards to give Tyson a chance. As much as i like Poles, he needs to get his head out of his A. and do the right thing. If he trades him before giving him a shot here im done with this franchise.
still see people stating this O was different than what JF was given. It wasn't, JF just wouldn't run the plays as they were designed. He wanted to play hero ball, big plays or big runs instead of a methodic drive own the field. This is what the O was supposed to look like, which is why the OC got a job as an OC, and the qb got a job as a backup, and by all accounts in Pitt, is well behind Wilson. JF is struggling even w/a good HC/team. He will continue until he allows himself to play QB the way the NLF requires it instead of how he wants to play it. Bagent is going to have a long career, backup, bridge or starter though. Kid has the IQ to play in the NFL, which the QB position requires even more then athletic talent, which JF insists on relying on.
how many games will you start Caleb Williamson before Bagent starts again? one game? two games? three games? he looks like an NFL quarterback who just needs more game-time and experience to settle into the game. Obviously he has the talent. he looks as good as most starting QBs in these highlights. Seriously not sure Fields or Williamson are better. a lot of his running/ passing decisions and avoiding the sacks look like that of a starting, high-ranking QB. I truly believe everybody is just in denial about Bagent because he's a skinny white guy from a no name D2 school. He was clearly our best QB the whole time he was sitting the bench. Coaches lack the ability to make objective decisions about who is better.
This guy should be starting, but because the Bears took Caleb numberr one overall, he gets the job. Once Caleb starts looking like trash, Tyson will get his chance.
