HE DEFLECTED every question and wants MANDATES.
Typical DEMOCRAP.
Evs are junk
Expensive junk at that
Try them again in about 100 years.
Says all the ignorant and gullible people... 🤣
Boy he sure is careful of his answers lol evs suck and there over priced junk.
Say No to EV's...
Why? Because the fossil fuel industry tells you to say no?
Electric Cars were tried in the early 1900's. When people realized they just were not practical or workable for most of the Nation, they were abandoned
History no one wants to talk about 🤣🤣 this is just a way to control travel. Once everyone is EV it will be 1 charge per day. Limit you 2yrs owning a EV less that 100mi travel
In the 1900s, you had to pull over every so often and lube your rocker arms. Electric vehicles in the 1900s used lead acid batteries that had to be replaced often and maintained.
Also, Mining for limited Rare Earth Minerals destroys the earth with Slave Labor. Enriches China and replacing a toxic battery costs thousands of dollars
I think you will find the technology was quite a bit different back then…..
Also, oil was absolutely dirt cheap and the world did not have 8 billion people in it …..
@Mid.night1000rr thats just a stupid comment. If that's what they wanted to do, they could do it right now and then shut down the world's economy. You don't really think about what you're saying before you write it down.
The 9.2 billion dollars from Uncle Sam tells of his allegiance and direction.
yeah bc the hatred towards EV isn’t at all funded by oil companies

We don't want EVs forced on us by the government, and the free market should dictate auto makers' business models.
The trouble with this bunch of loons running our government, they're going to put our oil companies out of business. These people have to go before this country is destroyed.
EVs will be "forced" on you no matter what when gasoline and diesel are banned eventually. It is only a matter of when.
@hanshansen3885 if people keep voting for politicians that push the green agenda ,then you're right.
@@drunkenduncan7285 It doesnt matter who people vote for as in the end(Not talking about end of the world) there is no other choice. We are focing ourselves to get rid of fossil fuels because we have overdone it in the past decades.
Amen to that!!!
I don’t want any EVs or batteries that are made in China!
So, made in 🇺🇲, and 👍? 🔋💚

@@matthewburns7584 Unfortunately, we can't escape "Made in China". When I have a choice, I always buy items "Made in the USA".
There are several EVs that is made entirely in US. The downside is that you have to pay extra for the American labor in the product.
Lying about about EV, since he is just toeing the democrat line.
Dodging questions left and right.
@diycatcraft That CEO is just dancing around giving a straight answer. You can see it in his eyes he's floundering, trying to keep on point with official narrative and yet desperately tying to let it not affect Ford's bottom line !
It’s the money they are getting from Joe. He has to support it and lie to us all or the billions they are getting stops. It’s suicide by greed.
Way too quick to switch! Tell China and India to stop polluting!
Excellent.
Now you hit a nerve and you totally 100% correct!
Yes they are the worst polluters so make them get EV'S to start then maybe we may do it.
Exactly. If China and India don't stop polluting, it won't matter what we do.
As a country China is the biggest CO2 emitter in the world but that is because it is one of the biggest countries in the world with 1.426 billion people.
If you look how much CO2 countries emit per capita(population) then we see a whole other picture.
Chinas CO2 emissions per capita(7.6) is roughly half of what America's CO2 emissions per capita(14.7) is. India is even lower than China per capita.
I work on electronic junk for a job. As far as AI, electronics are great when they work but be prepared for when they fail and you crash
Same with planes. The tech needs to be on/off analog electronics.
Way to dodge every question. And way to not force him to answer the questions asked. What a pointless interview!
Typical propaganda chief. He didn't give one straight answer in the entire interview. EV's are a cruel joke on us.
Driving a golf cart is my only contribution to the green deal in vehicles
I ride my bike to work, but I feel alive while biking so it’s not for everyone.
Never would I spend $60,000 for any car
Never would wait 2 hours for half a charge ..
Never use a car that losses half it's battery if ur in cold environments .
@CRAIGNV Only if I won the lottery but you can get new EVs for around half of that. EVs are only slightly more pricy than regular cars but you save that money in fuel pretty fast.
@@CrunchWrpSUPREME Currently you can charge 200 miles in 15 minutes but in the near future(a couple of years) it will be 200 miles in 5 minutes or less.
I also have to say that an EV does not lose half its battery in cold environments. An EV battery will be a little less efficient in colder weather because of slower physical and chemical reactions in the battery but it is only around 5%.
@@hanshansen3885 Its not 5% it's half. I have several friends that have all consistently had the same issue. We are talking about Alaska or the mid west when it's bellow 10f ....
@@CrunchWrpSUPREME You didnt specify that it was very cold. 5% is for freezing temperatures between 20F and 30F. I highly doubt that it goes down to 50% at 10F, probably more like 10% at max. Though I get a sense that you are misrepresenting what you are talking about. You are not talking about how efficient the battery is but rather how far you can drive. Those two things are very different. Yes, if you crank up the cabin heater to max then the range of the battery will decrease since you use the battery to warm yourself but I can tell you that tests have shown that it is still nowhere near 50% range decrease and it differs between different EVs.
A Tesla X lose about 20% range at 10F. A Ford Mustang Mach-E lose about 35% range at 10F. A Nissan Leaf lose about 25% range at 10F.
Pushing them on us when the electrical grid isn't able to handle it yet.
@janetmm3801...
That is the most insane part of this entire thing. They want to sell millions of these cars knowing full well the infrastructure is not able to handle that. Which would crash the power grid putting everyone in the dark...for possibly months, who knows how long. It would be a huge disaster.
@@selketskiss56 exactly
That's a fact. We get our power from Ameren and they just sent out a letter to all customers offering a better rate if you select to choose a better night time rate, from 9PM to 9Am instead of staying on the current anytime rate. This is to try and get folks to use less energy in the daylight peak hours and use more in the dark overnight hours. Such as dishwasher, laundry, etc. I was told that it's their plan to try and balance an aging power grid and try to avoid future blackouts that are eminent if they don't do something.
So now let's go on and add charging stations to our homes and businesses along with everywhere else on the roadways. Yep, what kind of sense does that make 🤷
@@selketskiss56 Exactly, then the price of electricity will go through the roof.
Wait till the brown-outs start when the EVs get home and plug in to their L2 chargers, just when everybody turns their ovens and stoves on for dinner at 6pm. D'oh.
I took a trip in an electric vehicle , pain in the butt it was.
Yoda agrees
EV's weigh 2-4 times more than combustion vehicles. Are the bridges and parking structures rated to hold over twice the weight?
If that's true as you say, then traffic jams on bridges will sure be interesting 🤔
EV's are already causing parking decks to collapse.
Good point.
EVs DOES NOT weigh 2-4 times more than ICE cars. Stop with the anti-EV BS...
A Ford F-150 (ICE) weighs 5,000 lbs. A Ford F-150 Lightning(EV) weighs 6,500 lbs.
EVs are a niche product for metro areas. They need to be honest about that. It’s not practical or efficient enough to work for everyone.
The cost is prohibited that's number 1 but ask this guy how long the battery will last on these vehicles and what is the cost to replace that battery. The first question how long will the battery last that would be 6-7 years cost to replace north of 20K. Now the best or worst part depending on your point of view, these batteries are hazardous waste and must be disposed of properly another cost that could be in the thousands of dollars. The thing that nobody is saying this will do NOTHING to fight climate change. The amount of carbon released into the atmosphere to produce these batteries is tremendous and China being the number 1 producer is not exactly a very green country.
They can stick their $20k battery.
Ford CEO reminds me of "Tommy Boy".
Omg! He DOES! 😂😂😂

Very observant 😂 🏆
Jennifer Granholm, our energy secretary, is a GIGANTIC NINCOMPOOP when it comes to energy or science. How does someone with degrees in political science and French get appointed to be energy secretary? She can't even change an electric outlet by herself.

Plus she made a lousy governor in Michigan! She should know how much snow we get ! Most people would get a hybrid first!
Come on Farley, tell the truth...EV is not the answer!!
The real problem is that EV's don't reduce CO2 emissions until they're nearly 4yrs old with average use. Since it takes far more emissions to manufacture them in the first place. Then the issue of the time to charge them also becomes a factor in users daily lives.
also.. evs cars are causing a bid lay off of employees, combustion engines take a lot of manufacturing for parts ..plus.. they dont burn up when they get wet inside..
They are also being charged with electricity, that is made a dirty power plants 😂
@bfairfax8772 As far as I know it is less than 4 years, more like 2-3 years.
Charging EVs isnt really a big factor when you get in the routine. Most people just plug it in during the night and it is ready to go the next day.
@@tarpanc34 EVs catch fire much less than ICE cars, so there is that.
@@spaceoddity2485 EVs are charged by the power that is in the grid. Currently that is 60% fossil fuels, 20% nuclear and 20% renewables. Even with that mix EVs are much more CO2 friendly during their lifespan than ICE cars, but renewables will replace fossil fuels more and more.
You have to drive 60,000 miles to offset the manufacturing and mining pollution of an electric car!
LOL sorry but it is about half of that, roughly 25,000 miles which is what the average(US) car drives in 2 years.
@@hanshansen3885so what's your point?? By the time you get to 60,000, you need a new battery. SMDH
@@pamstone9405 The EV battery have a warranty of 8 years or 100,000 miles, which ever comes first. EV battteries are expected to last 15+ years with several 100 thousand of miles on them.
@@hanshansen3885 don't care. Don't want one.
Everybody talks about not being able to afford the new EV's. What happens to the people who buy the "used" EV's? The used EV's will be traded in when the battery is about to expire. Nobody talks about the life expectancy of the other parts of the car. So people who couldn't afford to buy a new car, would have to re-build their used car in short order which would cost thousands of dollars assuming you can even get the parts in a timely manner. This will become a nightmare for those consumers.
This whole idea that was never thought out by our government, is nothing more than a disaster waiting to happen. They are creating a system that is going to fail miserably , and with the economy going in the direction it is, thing are not going to end well unless we the people take action.
They don't tell you these electric cars in there lithium batteries are dangerous and catch on fire, and that they would have to get all their materials from China to make these electric cars so whose benefiting?
That's just it, they have not applied critical thinking to this idea. Any sensible person would not quit a job without having another job lined up. It's the same with replacing combustion vehicles with battery-powered vehicles. There needs to be a foolproof plan. I don't think that EVs will ever be practical for a long trip. Maybe that's the point... maybe they want to restrict our mobility.
@@pianomusic4you They want us to use mass transit. There is no mass transit where I live. Just shoe leather express.

When asked if long range travel was a problem the ford guy didn’t answer then question and started blaming customers for not paying more. Real nice

Take out this white trash perhaps wipe his family especially his sons as well. These may come dearly for him
Choice's not mandates is the best way everyone can't afford that
The Left (aka Democrats) don't trust people to make the "correct" choice. Which in this case is, to not have a car at all and use the bus or a bicycle.
NO ONE wants an EV. SERIOUSLY, ask the CITIZENS
Those who virtue signal want them. The rest of us do not.
Same Corporate response, talking like Americans suffering isn't their concern and global competition is the goal even if Americans lose.
Finally admitting EVs fit a certain type of customer only from a practical use standard, they are not good ever to travel on longer trips...
A key piece is price vs. range ratio. A Hyundai Kona EV is 37k and gets 250 mi range.
A California Route 1 Mach-e is 57k for only 312 mi range.
That is 54% more cost for only 25% more range, and I think that is what customers are picking up on and avoiding.
(I bought the Kona. ❤)
Correct sir
Why would you compare range on a 346hp car vs a pos 201hp car?
They also need to address that out infrastructure is not strong enough to handle a total electric country.
Way to dodge the question(s)...
Paying a premium? I wouldn't give Ford a dime. Several years ago we had their stock, not much but it paid .15 a share every quarter. Ford used Covid an excuse to stop paying dividends and we sold their stock at a loss. Still Fords vehicles were already so over priced we refused to buy one years before the pandemic. It's a shame really because you used to be able a nice basic pickup with a good bench seat and the heavy rubberized floors (easier to wash out farm dirt with a garden hose) basic am/fm and AC for a price, average Americans could reasonably afford. If those who ran Ford had any common sense they'd go in that direction. Unfortunately based on the non answers, they aren't that bright.
Partly due to the unions demanding more pay I imagine, thus the increased cost to own.

Our government is putting pressure on these domestic car manufacturers, to produce these EVs which: 1) Are unsafe, because the manufacturers did not do the quality control under all conditions, and over an extended period of time, BEFORE THEY STARTED PRODUCING THEM FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC, and putting mandates to get rid of the internal combustion engine vehicles (watch the many videos of these vehicles starting fires, because of their volatile battery, which is a huge portion, of the mass of the vehicle): 2) The strain on our, already, over taxed, power grid, which has not been updated to meet the demand of the, fast coming, mandated demands to switch entirely over to them by 2035 (we already suffer blackouts, and brownouts, because the grid cannot handle the demand now); 3) The biggest problem is that these vehicles are, unconstitutionally, being FORCED onto the American public, who DO NOT WANT THEM, because the cannot replace the things an internal combustion engine can do, AT A MUCH LOWER PRICE. They are unaffordable, inconvenient, time consuming, and dangerous; 4) There is not the infrastructure, throughout the United States, which is available to recharge these vehicle, UNDER ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS; 5) This will be a disaster, in all states, for our supply chain, if our trucker are force over to them; 6) These vehicles will cause more accidents, because of the greater weight, due to the battery size, especially in large trucks, because the stopping distance will be significantly longer, and the accidents will be more severe to the passengers. 7) This will be an environmental nightmare once these batteries are spent, because who will want to replace the battery, at about the same price as a new EV, which will prebaby be better; and 😎 China has the corner on the market for all these rare earth minerals to produce these batteries, so we'll be dependent on our enemy. The kicker is that these EVs will not significantly help the ozone layer, if any.

Until 50% of every parking space and every company and every motel and hotel on every street in every city on every interstate 50 cent of parking spaces are charging stations you're not going to sale EVs

What happens if some use EMP and no one has a car to get anywhere?
Imagine that everyone goes to EV’s. Also imagine that bc houses are unaffordable, a majority of the population lives in apartments. Now imagine how HUNDREDS of people are going to charge their cars over night EVERY DAY in an apartment complex that MAYBE has 4 chargers. Now imagine that the rest of the people have to go to a charging station to charge their cars before work. Now imagine the HOURS LONG wait to charge your car every day. That’s just ONE of the drawbacks of FORCING EVERYONE to go EV!!! These people really don’t think this ish all the way through. Also, imagine the same people who champion DEI also say to go EV, but EVS are $55k which is UNAFFORDABLE!!! So lower middle class and poor people are supposed to do what? The people in charge just like to make life more complicated and difficult for everyone just to appease their own emotional weaknesses.

I am not worrying about China vehicle competition. Predictably, many auto companies would be bankrupted very shortly. A lot of Chinese comsumers in the cities won't buy EV because of lack of vacant parking lots in the area due to many apartment towers, luxurious buildings and skyscrapers. They are much worse crowded than NYC. That means they have to import EV somewhere.
China as we speak has millions of EV's roting away in fields, brand new cars most never even driven...except to the fields. You can look it up. What does that say about how they feel about their own EV's.
