I find that I have so enjoyed using my crock pot for foods. I have 3 different sizes. This way I don't forget something on the stove and nothing gets overdone. I will even do hams or turkey breasts in them. Moist and not dried out. This way I can get other things done. Spices are so important to change the tone of the meals. I can't remember the last time I ate a meal outside the home. Cooking my meals at home is a fraction of the price and I am not sick for several days. Win..win for me.
I am almost 90 so things have changed since I started out. However, I was given a pressure pan for a wedding present. I was almost afraid to use it, but I learned. For years I used it about once a week. Its cooks food fast and makes the toughest meat tender. The crockpot seems to have replaced the pressure pan now.
We do scratch cooking at home. We all cook, too! My son, my daughter, husband and myself enjoy cooking healthy meals from scratch. We grew up in households where there was no such thing as eating take out or buying ready made food. All meals or prepared on the stove or in the oven. Every now and then, we’d eat frozen pizza, we’d buy 6 individual ones in a box. We’d make them in our toaster oven. Memories from the 80’s. 😊
The crockpot is my very best friend! I have four different sizes and use them all, I hate babysitting food! Plus everything comes out great. I get sentimentally attached to certain things, too. Getting rid of stuff is the best. It's a relief. When I lived in a more urban area, Facebook Marketplace was a great place to sell stuff quickly.
I agree. When I worked, and I was in the city every day, Facebook marketplace worked great for me to meet up with people. But now that I’m in the country and retired, it doesn’t work, because I don’t have anyone to meet up with!
I so enjoy your channel. We cook about 98% of everything for all meals. I used to hate cooking. It wasn't until about 8 or so years ago I finally buckled down and learned to cook and though its still not my passion LOL I do enjoy it or at least enjoy the results of cooking at home. It really is super easy. Prepping ahead is key to success. Any thing I can do ahead always ALWAYS makes my life easier down the road. Leftovers are life LOL I make almost nothing that doesn't auto give me leftovers because its just a "finished ahead meal" why not do that right! Thank you for sharing. You should be proud of yourself. You have done amazing! Thanks for inspiring!
Same I live out of town so find it hard to meetup. Do you feel you make enough money off EBay is it worth the hassle? Do you group them all together to sell? Your recipes looked delicious.
Some things I make more on than others, but definitely better than garage sale prices. I’ve been able to buy myself some new clothes by selling old ones! Thank you!

Cracking pecans I got some baggies of pecans for $2 at the flea market. I am thinking of making pecan fingers cookies
Great price!
You can freeze pecans as is and use them when needed. They keep indefinitely.
@Paleface324 yes!
