YES! That is the reason I am using 4090 laptop (4080 chip) which has 175 W. My 3080Ti desktop is eating 350W, so it remained switched off for very long time

I'm not sure that I see the disappointment, being that by the average fps you show in those 7 games gave an average of 50.29% improvement in fps. As long as the image quality is the same or better, that's a massive improvement in performance.
Because gen to gen isn't just performance alone. Price is also a factor, and this has the absolutely worst price to performance since the 690. Other actual review sites are saying real performance increases are only averaging 20% in gaming from the 4090 to the 5090.

You don’t really know what it’s like to use my pc in the condition it’s in and not be able to afford a better one. My favourite card is the gt 530 it was the first card I ever bought at the age of 14, i sold my Xbox games and worked for my dads friend at his corner shop to save for it. warframe barely ran on it but that card handled everything i threw at it up till alien isolation god i love that card.
Frames look fine, about what you'd expect from a generational uplift (the 4090 and the 1080Ti were very much exceptions, not the rule of thumb). Power draw otoh is out of control. Over 500W is just way too much if you do any kind of extensive gaming. Granted, if you can afford a 5090 then maybe energy bills aren't your primary concern, but still, that's just excessive.

RTX 5090 is awesome, especially with the boost to 32 GB in VRAM. Really helps with running and developing local LLMs (and other machine learning models) for research projects. Definitely looking forward to getting this model 🙂

Bought a Ryzen 1600X and EVGA 1080 SC2 back in summer 2017 both for 750 bucks. Still got the 1080, but upgraded to a 5800X3D last year when prices where low. The 80 series is normally my favorite. But GPU's are way to expensive for most people these days. Prices are kept skyhigh by retailers and manufacturers. My favorite graphics card would still be the asus rog strix 1080ti. Was rocking that beast until around 4 months ago. But then, after the 8 years fantastic service it broke down on me:( now using my uncles old gtx 690 in sli. The weird thing is that my cpu is a Ryzen 7 7600 (my dads old mobo and cpu). I guess this is the most bottlenecked system ever:)

Thanks to the switch to the rx6700xt video card, I took a different look at games and it became my favorite video card after using the rx 588. But I've been thinking about upgrading to a more powerful graphics card for a very long time.
You can’t be mad at technology not making advances as fast as we want. You have to think about how far we’ve come, eventually there’s going to be a plateau in technological advancements. And we’re getting close
interesting CPU usage and frequency between the two cards. My bet is that with a newer Chip and Os we will see better performance with the 5090 over the old 4090.

My favorite GPU will always be the true goat, the gtx 1080ti. That card was a beast when it came out and nothing really has compared in terms of a jump of performance. It can still run games today and I'm still impressed by how well they have held up. I personally rocked a 980ti for around 8 years until I upgraded, but if I had money I definitely would be going with a 4090/5090. Maybe when the prices drop in 5 years I'll be able to afford one 😅
Did you test alle the games with DLSS 3.5? Still the RTX 5090 is up to 64% faster, and has an average of 47% more performance. My favorite is the RTX 5080, seeing the power consumption of the RTX 5090!

Too bad there's no info on the graphics settings these games are run on. I assume these are not max settings at 4k resolution. I've never seen CP2077 at 4k with everything on max stay above 60fps on a 4090, so I assume this is not max settings, especially RT/PT.
My favourite graphics card is the gtx 1050 ti. I recently picked it up from ebay when my old PC broke to make a 150 dollar Optiplex build. It doesnt rrun everything in 1080p but optimizied games like BF1 run realy well!
The RTX 5090 is even worse when you also take power consumption into consideration. It's faster than it's predecessor but at almost 50% higher power consumption in some titles. That's not even ridiculous anymore... it's annoying. Especially when considering it's price and regional power costs it's a generation consumers should ignore.
For price to performance i would say my favorite card would be the Rx 7900GRE (if i have to pick a nvidia card then i would say either 4070 ti super or 2080 ti)
These are all easy to run games that aren't using Ray Tracing also. Actual review sites have been claiming there's only a real-world 20% difference between the 4090 and 5090 for gaming, which is awful. Most were expecting 30%, which is already bad but the average is only 20%.

Honestly im looking at the 5080 or even 5070ti due to power consumption and cost, no way i´m able nor would i ever pay 2500euros for a GPU xD. Interested to see the performance of the others more than the 5090 but judging by this video i would assume that the others would be the same, around X% of performance but consuming X% of additional power, up till the 30 series that was called an overclock xD.
Favorite card? Well, 5090 sure looks great. If I had a bunch of solars I might even consider buying one But if I end up getting an Nvidia card out of my own pocket, it'll probably be 5080

But I LOVE to tinker with stuff. My PC, even my keyboard is DIY. Went for the 14th gen intel, because they run super efficiently electricity wise when undervolted. Usually chilling around 2W when browsing, 5-10W videos, rarely goes above 35W in games. With the exception of a couple uniquely CPU heavy ones The bonus is that when manually voltage limited, it has no tendencies to fry itself, lol
we shouldn't have expected better from NVIDIA, it's difficult to do better for the moment, already the fact of having a new technology dlss4/mfg/gddr7/transformer tech.. gives the advantage, but of course it There will be difficulties linked to the novelty, but the updates will perhaps reveal interesting features on the RTX5000. to watch

For price to performance i would say my favorite card would be the Rx 7900GRE (if i have to pick a nvidia card then i would say either 4070 ti super or 2080 ti)
Looks 50% faster from the games you tested.. that's not disappointing at all! If so, 5090 will be my favorite card!
These are all easy to run games that aren't using Ray Tracing also. Actual review sites have been claiming there's only a real-world 20% difference between the 4090 and 5090 for gaming, which is awful. Most were expecting 30%, which is already bad but the average is only 20%.

Honestly im looking at the 5080 or even 5070ti due to power consumption and cost, no way i´m able nor would i ever pay 2500euros for a GPU xD. Interested to see the performance of the others more than the 5090 but judging by this video i would assume that the others would be the same, around X% of performance but consuming X% of additional power, up till the 30 series that was called an overclock xD.
Is this with or without DLSS? Because if this is without DLSS, this looks amazing! This is 50% better performance on average.

Aaand yes, I'm quite aware of the issues with these things. But I LOVE to tinker with stuff. My PC, even my keyboard is DIY. Went for the 14th gen intel, because they run super efficiently electricity wise when undervolted. Usually chilling around 2W when browsing, 5-10W videos, rarely goes above 35W in games. With the exception of a couple uniquely CPU heavy ones
The bonus is that when manually voltage limited, it has no tendencies to fry itself, lol

we shouldn't have expected better from NVIDIA, it's difficult to do better for the moment, already the fact of having a new technology dlss4/mfg/gddr7/transformer tech.. gives the advantage, but of course it There will be difficulties linked to the novelty, but the updates will perhaps reveal interesting features on the RTX5000. to watch
Did you even watch the video the 5090 is destroying the 4090 by 50+ fps nearly every time sometimes even 100
I think its bit to early for this, if 4090 still manages to keep up like that there wont be need to buy 5090 unless you have nothing to do with your money
