Skyzoo, in my opinion, is the MOST slept on rapper in today's hip-hop/rap music. He is very underrated and I don't really get how most of the people never heard about him. His music is REAL, CLASSIC hip-hop/rap music.
I met SKYZOO in 2014..here in BOSTON. ..Underground HIP HOP .Also my father passed away later this year I'm ready for CD today : SKYZOO & PETE ROCK cd" RETROPOLITAN" 📻🎤🎧🎶🎶
this guy is possibly the most underrated rapper ever...hes so dope...lyrics flow hooks content beat selection creativity is all there he deserves to blow...mixtapes always fire ...he always gon have my support
Brooklyn stand up...Skyzoo (crow heights) Talib (Flatbush) Spike Lee (Fort Green), couple reasons I appreciate this track, spike lee being my favorite film director and documentarian is one of them, the fact that I'm from Brooklyn is another, but the recognition these two artist are giving Spike is my main reason... There is no doubt that Spike Lee is part of the Hip Hop culture.
kid_ from_nyc I always had respect for Brooklyn but ppl stay dying out there. I'm willing to move out there cuz the culture is real but it's so crazy out there at the same time. Then again I'll prolly.m make it cause I do me and mind my business and that's all people ask for.
Big up to my bro Tall Black Guy for blessing Skyzoo with the beat for the inspiration to pay homage to one of our black heroes Spike Lee... Shout out to Talib for blessing the track lovely... "Brooklyn Stand Up! Skyzoo is da truth, Real Hip-Hop prevails
The art of emceeing...got to love it! Special shout-outs to the likes of Skyzoo and Kweli for keeping that real Hip-Hop alive! Continue the Beautiful Struggle! PEACE!
We need more artist paying homage to great black film directors they where our eyes to the world to see our view of life in these America's.... salute family!!!
I just heard my first Skyzoo album "Music For My Friends" today and I think it's the 2nd best hip hop album this year!! Skyzoo earned a new fan....I'm just here to catch up
The message in the music is connotative rather than denotative; the “was” in “Spike Lee Was My Hero” refers to Spike’s influence on Skyzoo during the most impressionable moments of his life. The lyrical hook alone speak volumes if you understand it. Spike Lee (1st & 2nd gen. hip-hop culture), dedicated his life’s mission to writing Brooklyn-inspired stories using films which influenced Skyzoo to dedicate his life's mission to writing Brooklyn-inspired stories in this 3rd gen. of hip-hop culture!
Spike Lee is a visionary genius. F**k the Actors Guild. Thank you for this one Skyzoo. Big up Kweli, one of my favourite MCs. ILL TRACK. BLESS UP, BIG UP!
This song is a great example of composition. These two artists ,Skyzoo and Talib Kweli, feed off of each other so well, I'm surprized they aren't doing the next Black Star. One album together, make it an instant classic, and do the proverbial parting of ways afterwards. Skyzoo, in my eyes, has a very unique and poetic style about his lyricism and swave, smooth delivery. Talib Kweli with his rapid-fire approach and uniquely rough-like voice compliment each other very well.
My fav song on the album, love Spike Lee's films.I got my 2yr old son loving this song!! Respect to Skyzoo.one my favourite mc's of the new generation & one of the few that puts thought into his lyrics, last of a dying breed for real!!
Unique song, Spike Lee i do believe is the only black Director who was able to make 20 movies in a 20 year span, on another note Dam Kweli getting Chubbeeee
I bought this song off Itunes,i didn't know there was a video for it. This is Classic, and he got Spike to make an appearance. Keep doing your thing Skyzoo !!!
I heard this song today with the spike Lee video, Good Work. Like a late 80's, early 90's fill. She gotta have it, the clubbin dayz If ya dont stop take a pause 90's head boop to this. Something wrong wit ya. That tune alone is AWESOME. Spike, Skyzoo and TK Peace
I remember coming across this song on 106& Park which surprised me cuz this came out during the "Ratchet music" era lol Glad I took that rare moment to watch BET one time. Love this joint!

100% agree.
This beat alone brings tears to my eyes. Add the verses and I'm in heaven. Thank you Skyzoo

+Fleezy81 I agree! I've heard some tracks and features here and there, but this is the first project I've heard in full. Great stuff!
Who the hell said NYC had lost its sound? #realhiphop

As a born & bred Brooklynite, this sh*t touched my heart. Spike deserves his respect.
Beat is RIDICULOUS...and the lyrics are dope as fuck man...That shit
i haven't been moved by a dedication rap like this since lupe fiasco's hip-hop saved my life
The whole damn song gave me chills. Especially the piano at the end with the Spike Lee appearance.
This is what you get when you mix a genius (Skyzoo), a savant (Talib Kweli) and a legend (Spike Lee) in one song...
This is history, education and hip hop all in one. Dope tract killer lyrics and amazing visuals! Some of my faith has be restored.
I remember watching this music video as kid , the memories. I love this song🤟🏾🙌🏾
OMGAAAWD dis beat is UUUUUGH!! Seriously what hiphop is missing on the radio!!! Da lyricism just made it come alive!!
