the disney plus parody
Mine was the fifth avenue street reference
There's one additional parody of a real life event: The Bailey-Johnson 150-metre race was a track and field event that occurred in Toronto, Ontario on Sunday, 1 June 1997.
In an effort to settle the dispute regarding who was the "world's fastest man", a 150 metres race not sanctioned by IAAF was held at SkyDome between 1996 Olympic 100 metre champion Donovan Bailey from Canada and 1996 Olympic 200 metre and 400 metre champion Michael Johnson from the United States.
Like A-trains' big race against another speedster
Not really a parody so much as a joke but when Hughie asked The Legend if Soldier Boy actually saw any action, and The Legend responds with "Yeah, he used a firehose in Birmingham, got some target practice at Kent State..." implying Soldier Boy's participation and complicity in some very dark points in American history, was probably my favorite joke in the entire series. Along with A-Train's parody of the infamous Kendal Jenner parody add.
@alnu8355 I liked the moment when The Legend dropped names like Shannon Tweed and Kelly LeBrock and how Hughie clearly had no idea about who he was talking about.
A-Train parodying Kendall Jenners Pepsi commercial was one of my favorite things from this show. When he turned around and said “this is important” I lose it 😭😂
its so good😭😭
Same 😂😂
I was laughing at that alot 😂😂😂
"Hey, We gotta listen to each other"
It fucking killed me
*PR disaster occurs
*The Boys writers:"Write that DOWN! Write that DOWN!"
And i fully support them! Since it's just ridiculous how many people don't see the problem in those PR disasters 🤯
My personal favourite is Girl boss trope in recent Hollywood.
Real example - What is wrong with girs being bosses in Marvels? You are jus sexists! - Maybe the fact that ALL the girs in the film are bosses, so the Nick Fury who is supposed to be the real boss became stupid comedy sidekick?!!🤯🤦
@@Emeret. People will ignore patterns and marketing team tactics if it means gaining some social justice points
Based
The boys is a high level sarcasm and 4th wall breaking
Same
It never broke the 4th wall
@@cosmicknight4665 I certainly don't remember any 4th wall breaking.
I think you know the meaning of 4th wall breaking
The boys never have fourth wall moments because the story was based off and the more realistic take of superheroes and making fun of companies and basically everything in the more parity take
The most tragicomical aspect of this whole video, is how little, if any, "The Boys" authors had to exaggerate some of those events, to make them fit their show's dystopian society.
True, i didn't know the A-train add or the The Deep singing were parodies until i saw a breakdown video and i was schocked
its sad tbh
Yeah, true.
Same goes for Don‘t look up
Right? And the most fictional part of the show has arguably been just the super/superhero elements. All the pharma/corpo has always been dead accurate
The Boys parodying the whole "girl power" trope and then creating one of the most awesome girl team-ups in the same season is one of the best things ever.
Edit: spelling.
And what the show came up with was a much better trope as well.
2 superhero’s
And a terorist
Team up to fight a nazi
Love that not only did they make fun of other people for poor taste, but followed up by showing how it should actually be done.
I was dying over the fact that it just became a sort of “curb stomping” style of beating on the Nazi bitch instead of a highly choreographed action sequence. They just WHALED on her lmaooo
And their "girl power" scene felt much more organic and less contrived than others.
"With great power comes the absolute certainty that you’ll turn into a right c*nt"
- Billy Butcher
A-Train's energy drink add was hilarious. Barely a thing was changed, it almost looked real.
Only difference is those police actually look like they are gearing up for a protest/riot and not a patrol through the park
Even the make up woman looked like jenner lol
Black noir during the imagine song gets me everytime 😂
And then there's the sequences with Black Noir at the kids-themed restaurant and interacring with all the animated characters along with a fairly R-rated animated flashback of his relationship with Soldier Boy.
@@3baxcb it's just such a great show. Gen V is good as well
@jayimiku2794 life can be so cruel sometimes 🙏🤍
Chance (Andre) was my fav actor of Gen V
Well he can sing now
The shows creator said in an interview that the cameo with Theron was shot before dr strange came out and they had no idea she was in it so when the movie came out and he saw her he laughed so hard seeing how perfect her casting was for the boys!
Is there a clip? What do I search? 😂
This is a spoiler for the movie "Hancock." In that superhero movie Charlize Theron's character has the power of lighting and weather control. When I saw a clip from that movie, I thought that was the reason "The Boys" casted her as the actress for Stormfront. Another reason why her casting was perfect.
Homelander outing Maeve for being Lesbian and the media jumping all over it and invading her private life was definitely the best satire for me. The scene where Homelander forces Maeve to do a Lesbian romance scene for Dawn of the Seven was HILARIOUS
kinda sad too tho
And the marketing guys telling Elena she had to dress in men's clothes to be more marketable...
What was this a satire of?
@@salaamboss5961 The entertainment industry taking advantage of identity politics to further their own selfish ends
The fact that she's bi just gets brushed over (purposefully of course) to show that being a lesbian is more marketable
Oh my god, the Ashton Kutcher/Mila Kunis cameo at 16:17 was filmed in the same spot they did their phoney "apology" a couple of weeks ago 🤣
omg i just noticed that too💀
Lmaoo
The "average looking" wall on their multimillion dollar home, 😂
It's funnier now!!!
When life imitates art haha
Jensen Ackles/Soldier Boy was about to be cast as Captain America before Chris Evans got it. Now his character is a villainous parody of him.
Evidence trust me bro
this is a rumor that jensen ackles publicly shut down in a 2022 interview by entertainment weekly
"Chimps Don't Cry" never fails to crack me up. CC dancing around with cymbals is hilarious! 🤣🤣 Soldier Boy on Solid Gold is also a riot.
Fab five Freddy told me everybody's fly
Soldier Boy is also great with From a Logical Point of View.
@@dener461 My personal favorite! 😁
My favorite thing of the soild gold sequence is that Jensen almost laughed 😆
I don’t think it was meant to be a riot. It’s showing how black shows were forced to showcase talentless non black people to get acceptance from white society. It was to show how ridiculous racism is. Not just to entertain.
You can tell these guys are Canadian bc they don’t immediately see Cameron Coleman as a Tucker Carlson parody
I thought that immediately too but i am canadian
Its pretty on the nose, with the background and framing of Vought News very directly mirroring Fox News
@@prozythos8397 the Vought social media page even posted a parody video immediately after Tucker Carlson left Fox News irl too I believe
Now there needs to be an episode where that Vought anchorman/political commentator gets exposed as a pathological liar and loses his job.
Oh, they definitely know but they don't really want point that out and potentially lose viewers over political bias
I swear the boys really help me understand so much about the world and all its horrible darkness. It might seem like it's just a show but it mirrors real world more than you know.
It has always been like this doesn't it? Power corrupts and they'll use anything in their power to stay there. Just now it's less obvious and you have no say in it or face scrutiny and death.
Power does not corrupt, power enables
@@terang5189
Get ready for the next season. It’s supposed to be about the Boys taking a political attack against Vought and the main villain Victoria Neuman
Yeah Seth Rogen sounds like a great source of truthful unbiased information lol
@@KingOfMMA.it’s not making fun of humanity. It’s a satirical piece on right wing politics in America
it's funny how even watch mojo is too scared to mention scientology even though the deep storyline is very obviously a scientology rip
I was wondering about that too 🙃
amen
Or Tucker Carlson. "Cameron Coleman is a parody of JJ Jameson and uhh... uhhh..... various news programs."
Now we just need The Boys to parody Watch Mojo.
Ah yes, Vought Mojo: Top 10 Firecracker’s Theories Turned Out Right
Thanks to Vought for sponsoring WatchMojo so they can portray their supes in a positive light.
They can always pay their way to a clean image...
It’s crazy how so many went over people’s heads. They also have the guy from raiding the capitol in the last episode. The dude with horns on his head, face paint, and fur jacket.
Can't wait for homelander to sing toxic gossip train
haha 😂😂😂
You think he's finally going to crack but he just smiles and pulls out a ukulele
I love how The Boys went from a superhero satire to a societal satire
It’s always been a political satire
The Boys was always a satire on capitalism and corporatism.
They always was. Superheroes was parodies for celebrities like politicians, actors, etc
I'm from Asia, I've never been to America and somehow even I know that Cameron Coleman is Tucker Carlson.
I'm from Brazil and same. But I know that I know because of a combination of knowing english and being chronically online.
Getting a Dinesy+ add after the Vought+ parody from the boys was just, perfect.
When THE MARVELS come out, all I'm gonna think is...
"GIRLS GET IT DONE"
They do
@@bennywark3103 At least, when they have superpowers they do…
@@jameslough6329 No, they just do. Let's not forget all the societal functions that would collapse without women. Healthcare, school systems, a huge chunk of the customer service/administrative branches etc etc. And that's only short-term.
The Marvels is still gonna be a bad movie fiiiiilled with meaningless pandering though.
@@SensationalBanana I was joking lol. Most societal functions would collapse without the help of either gender
@@jameslough6329typical man LOL
"Haha just kidding! My misogyny was a joke! I take no responsibility or learn from my mistakes! Also don't forget that men matter too! Don't bring up the achievements of women without bringing up men!"
What is honestly infuriating about the “Imagine” video, was that Gal Gadot took continuous convincing from those around her to even consider admitting that the ‘Imagine’ video was, “in poor taste,” and her even, when saying that, also said that it was “premature.” Meaning she thinks there would have been “a right time” to do that hopelessly out of touch video. Fricken celebrities man.
Making a song about peace when she's herself a war criminal was what got me. The audacity.
I actually never thought of Cameron Coleman parodying JJJ, always think of Tucker Carlson. Even the news logo resembles Fox
It is, its just mojo is such a pushover
My favorites that I didn't really see much of on here would be making fun of the Church of Scientology and then throughout season 2 and heavily on season 3, the political social media. The rallies and the "fake news" all mimic real life and i love it.
I was wondering about that too 🙃
That’s the worst one lol it was overly on the nose and kind of goofy
Truth-Con in S4 was great 😂
One thing I found hilarious was Stormfront recommending PewDiePie to Homelanders son.
that was among the most on the nose lines in the entire show and the entire show is pretty on the nose. Great stuff.
They do have some similarities.
The a train pepsi ad had me cackling 😂
There’s also the fact that Victoria Neuman is a parody of AOC
yes, in the scene where homelander fantasied about laser people at the rally, he mock Neuman on the video of her "dance like an Egyptian". This is similar in real life when AOC got mocked because of her old dancing video during uni
This is one of the things I love about THE BOYS! They mock modern pop culture and politics and they do it so dang well. And I love it! I don’t know how they do it but you can tell that the creators pay close attention to what society is doing so it can get mocked and parodied in this awesome superhero show!😎😈
"Brave Maeve's Veggie Tacos"
And a picture of two tacos side by side.
Thats the writing I came for.
I JUST now got that
Black noir with the cardboard is hilarious 🤣
Thought the diabolical episode was more of a reference to the Tom and Jerry episode where the baby they are watching keeps wandering off and ends up on a high rise similar to this
Also reminded me to a short from Roger rabbit.
@@jorgemario33 and Buttons and Mindy from The Animaniacs.
Before any of those, Baby Sweet Pea led Popeye on many a merry chase through dangerous places.
I hope the Boys never get cancelled.
The never will cos they shot everyone
That’s a good one bc of the “cancel” culture these days!
season 5 is supposed to be the final season
@@GomesLivArsManU i hope that’s true, i love The Boys, but i despise when shows run for too long, once the story has ran its course. Jensen Ackles knows what I mean, funny enough
You forgot the best one - "Fab five Freddy's told me everybody's fly. DJ's spinning, I say, 'my, my!'."
I loved that one
Surprised that Amazon let’s the boys air. Given that Vought is a not too far off parody of them. But I’m not mad, it’s one of my favorite shows.
Is mostly cuz corporations doesn’t care about the messsage but from profit, that’s their agenda. At least that works for the boys specially considering the fact that they mention operation paper clip on the series
The Boys is making them a lot of money, they wont care what its about.
@@MarqueeMo0nnRight. Like what they did with Starlight when she became progressive. Vought rebranded her and earned support from her new target demographic.
It may be because Amazon realizes having a sort of super hero show to brag about can bring it up to tier with other brands like Disney Warner Bros and Sony. They're probably ready to go with whatever supes series got popular and The Boys ended up as that so they went with it. It may come at their own expense BUT ALSO their competitors get subtly mocked. To some degree seems more like the latter anyways. They also remain one of the few companies not going all out on specific wording like "plus". And anyways, their bread and butter is item delivery of any kind. A tech company. The Boys don't lay into that stuff as much.
Not Without My Dolphin title is a parody of Not Without My Daughter, a 90s movie.
It's a book originally
@@lsamoamy version of the book had an image of the movie with Sally Field on the cover just to confuse people on wich came first.
@@andreanatsuminadeau5608 Haha, that's right I remember
The a train commercial cracks me up the most
You left out Homelander as Donald Trump😂
Unlike The Boys, Mojo is making a clear choice to avoid controversy since they omitted the obvious parody of Trump as well as the obvious parody of Scientology.
@@discgolfspeedruns165 As well as Tucker Carlson. That's why I love The Boys, they aren't afraid to mock those imbeciles 😂
@@kaitheguy7832what are your pronouns?
@@Robby_Rob dude/bro 😆
1:21 Diabolical also reminds me of the Animaniacs' Buttons and Mindy.
Buttons and Mindy is a segment focusing on the misadventures of Mindy, an oblivious toddler who frequently manages to get herself into dangerous situations, and Buttons, her faithful dog who is always trying to protect her (usually at his own expense).
Now is the best time to enjoy The Boys because the show flawlessly mirrored our current pop culture and political climate. It's not gonna be as relatable after a decade.
Thanks captain obvious! Youve done it again!
Black noir holding up the signs with the words made that whole bit lmao
One of the best shows ever. Honest. Brilliant stuff.
The Boys is like a South Park live action and I love it.❤
I'm pretty sure they'll likely include anthology of that in the boys diabolical
I want to see South Park parody the boys so I can make a meme: Yo dawg I heard you like satirical parodies. So I parodied your parody while satirizing it's satire so you can enjoy a parody of a parody that also parodies parodies.
Nuts. 😏
I like how @WatchMojo deliberately avoids political satire of The Boys and turn it into "pop culture reference".
#11 is a clear parody of Tucker Carlson lol.
forreal lol, wouldn't wanna upset the rightists roaming in the comments I'm guessing👀
Right, that’s exactly what I said
*don't like
That A-Train ad had me dyin! hahaha I was thinking there's no f*cking way they're doing what i think it is
It’s sad that preacher didn’t get the same recognition as the boys
My favorite parodies are the Imagine video and the soda commercial
Was nervous about the Gen V show they came out with, but I thought the first 3 episodes were good. They’ll hold me over until season 4 of The Boys comes out.
00:28 🏰 The Boys cleverly parodied Disneyland in VoughtLand, mimicking the theme park's bright colors and ride wait times, taking humorous jabs at American theme parks' unhealthy food and pop culture.
01:41 🍼 Diabolical's "Laser Baby's Day Out" mimics the innocent animation style of classic cartoons, serving as a parody of the 1994 movie "Baby's Day Out," well-received for its humor and heartwarming ending.
02:23 🎬 Red Thunder parodies 80s American propaganda-heavy films, incorporating content warnings in a spoof manner, amplified by a stellar performance from Jensen Ackles.
03:31 ⚡ The dysfunctional Nubian Prince and Nubia duo in The Boys humorously satirize the relationship between Black Panther and Storm from Marvel comics.
04:25 🧠 Cindy from The Boys, not Eleven from Stranger Things, wields telekinetic powers, contrasting Eleven's innocence with a darker, brutal approach, making for a compelling parody.
05:08 🎶 A musical number in The Boys' hospital scene delivers a funny and bright moment as Kimiko and Frenchie sing "I Got Rhythm," infusing humor using medical props.
06:10 💥 The diabolical story in The Boys flips the concept of Marvel's Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, highlighting the tragic lives of kids with undesirable powers.
07:05 📺 Vought Plus parodies streaming service commercials, promising ultimate content control, while humorously hinting at the dangers of password-sharing.
08:38 📢 Cameron Coleman's 7 on 7 News in The Boys lampoons real news personalities, imitating figures like J Jonah Jameson, parodying various real-life programs and advertisements.
10:47 📺 American hero in The Boys parodies reality TV by satirizing the dramatic angles, twists, and falsities often associated with shows like The Bachelor.
11:44 🐬 The Deep's "Not Without My Dolphin" movie hilariously parodies Lifetime Network's dramatic headlines-driven films, taking a satirical jab at real-world controversies.
15:06 🦠 The Boys introduces "Termite," a character parodying Ant-Man's fan theory, showcasing the consequences of his size-changing abilities in a darker, more mature manner.
16:05 🎤 The Deep's parody of Gal Gadot's "Imagine" video mocks celebrity attempts at relatability, contrasting the original video's criticized sincerity.
17:37 💪 "Girls get it done" in The Boys parodies Marvel's endgame scene, both satirizing and playing straight an all-female superhero alliance, managing to make the moment organic and earned.
18:06 🥤 A-Train's soft drink ad in The Boys lampoons the controversial Pepsi ad featuring Kendall Jenner, retaining the commercial's absurdity while spotlighting A-Train's involvement.
19:36 🎬 "Dawn of the Seven" in The Boys parodies superhero team-up movies, referencing popular films like The Avengers and acknowledging real-world campaigns for alternate versions of films.
16:17 : Oh my god, I never realised that Kutcher and Kunis made their fake "imagine" video on THE SAME BACKDROP as their video defending Danny Masterson.
Right, its insane. I am like where they already made the apology video there like wtf
I love how rebecca giggles during narration 15:38
As someone who works at Disney world, I really enjoyed the Voughtland scene
Black Noir has such a beautiful voice I guess 😂 17:04
Honestly 'Who do you think you are, God?' 'No, God would have mercy,' is a great exchange
I love The Boys, can't wait for the next season
how you didnt also catch the obvious Akira reference with Cindy is a crime, it's almost a full on recreation of Tetsuos Hospital Rampage
The baby in dangerous situations reminded me of Baby Herman from I know Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
Baby Sweet Pea led Popeye on many a merry chase through dangerous places.
You guys definitely missed "Baby One More Time" dance by young Starlight.
bro when the A train ad came in i died laughing, like bar for bar its the same as the Pepsi commercial
This show does an amazing job with these kinds of promos and skits of the shows world.
I’m so fired up for season 4
Kinda shocked you didn’t mention the scene where Homelander gets taco bowls sent up to Level 99 purely because Supersonic was Mexican, which is clearly a reference to that Trump tweet. Homelander’s own words were even along the lines of “Vought Tower makes the best Taco bowls” which is basically taken directly from Trump’s mouth
I didnt know Karen sang the part in I got Rythm. Her voice is beautiful
Some parodies did not go to surface but this one became a hit. They say imitation is a form of flattery but this one is just successful
8:36 that was also the plot of a 1980's Supernatural Sex Comedy called "Hunk" where a very nerdy guy makes a deal with The Devil to become a buff male model (and his love interest actually made the same deal, but they both turn back to their nerdy selves in the end ,when they truly fall in love with each other and their real selves)
The Deep singing was my favourite of all time
There’s one scene that I didn’t realise was a call back to something else until a month ago. It literally broke my mind. It was the “I hear you. And the entire world hears you” scene. If you know, you know.
What is it parodying?
@@Spooky-Sara it’s parodying george bush’s speech after 9/11
@@tomas.lambert ohh I’m an ‘01 baby so not quite old enough to remember
@@Spooky-Sara I’m an ‘02 haha
He just quotes W verbatim
Homelander and others saying 'Go Out. Its completely safe' during Soldier Boy bombings is a nice parody of some politicians giving a call to go outside during covid-19 lock downs.
The hospital dance also reminds me of the one in Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo
I always wondered if Chimps dont cry was a sly reference to Pimps dont cry from from the movie The Other Guys.
Personally, the best one is the pepsi parody. That was hilarious
4:37 why m.m run like that 😂😂
The Pepsi commercial was brilliant.
Chimps Don’t Cry also parodies “Pimps Don’t Cry” from the greatest comedy movie ever made The Other Guys
Slanging that yayo gets me every time
I NEED dawn of the seven, or at least the individual movies
My favorite parody is the Vought Instagram parodying Trumps trial lmao
proof that this show can be be whatever it needs to be. It's so great
"we cannot show a frame up here" 😂😂😂😂 !!!
chimps don't cry is actually a perfect masterpiece
Cameron coleman is obviously a riff on tucker carlson lmao i love how they mentioned everyone the boys were lampooning except the most obvious one
The boys budget is Beyond ridiculous because they was having to much fun parodying the real world while being faithful to the comments with minor changes
Its a nice refreshing take on “superheroes”
“We want to keep these problematic stories around so we can learn from it ✨”
No, you want to keep making bank from it
the boys doin the lord's work
16:19 omg, we've seen this backdrop again since!
I've never watched this show, but after watching this video I'm so confused on what the tone is supposed to be😂
0:29 this name is a reference to 3 rollercoasters named superman: ultimate flight at six flags over georgia, six flags great adventure and six flags great america
Also in season 4 Vought holds the V52 expo which looks exactly like disney's conferences. (Ik this video was made before season 4)
Cameron Coleman was such a good parody of Fucker Failson that he was unable to call it out without inadvertently admitting that Coleman was a spoof on him.
Jensen Ackles is awesome
My favorite parody is the guy at the homelander rally being the same dude from the capital raid
Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.
Soldier boy was so good Mwah!
You need to do a top 10 songs from 'the Boys".
Loved Karen's VA work in She-Ra
Lmao watchmojo didn’t wanna get political by sayin Cameron Coleman is actually a parody of tucker Carlson
I like how the guy from “Heroes” was right there lol
