Dave Alvin has plenty of fans, and I’m one, but he’s still the most under appreciated singer/songwriter/guitarist alive. And props to the great Greg Leisz!
I've seen Dave Alvin more than any other performer. Starting when he and his band opened for Queen at The Forum in ~1980. I've seen Christy McWilson four times. Most recently when she reunited with some former bandmates and released a self-published CD that included a cover of Kirsty MacColl's "Chip Shop". Brilliant!
Aah Yes,,,also as Dave & the Guilty Men in Davis Ca on the 4th of July as rockets red glared,,,plus after being pardoned by the mayor of Davis for almost 30 years earlier as The Blasters were barred from Davis
Dave Alvin is one of those artist where the term national treasure is deserved

and Christy McWilson!! :)
Can’t forget Christie’s great backup vocals either
Beautiful way to express a story. Just the right images, and I'm there, trying to say I'm sorry for "whatever happened..."
