Pretty good summary. Not sure I agree with the folks clambering about “woke” stuff. It’s a conversation, people! It’s reasonable to have it to politely disagree.
Steve was a kid who loved Ray Charles. Tried to sound like him. Nothing wrong with that. I’m modeled my batting stance after Jim Rice when I was a kid… Is that cultural appropriation? I don’t think so. It’s flattery if anything.
Enjoy the video. Enjoy music. Thanks for putting this together. So glad to be seeing Steve play next month live!

This is a good video. I would like to see you do one like this on Dave Mason. I believe Dave Mason is one of the greatest musicians of all time, but sadly one of the most under appreciated musicians of all time. I have seen the great Dave Mason in concert 102 times and in a few weeks it will be 103. It is a shame that Steve will not reconnect with Dave and do it together. Dave's autobiography will be released, this May in 2024 and be interesting to get his perspective. Thanks again.

Speaking of the term Blue Eyed Soul,
The mention of that phrase to Daryl Hall of Hall and Oates is offensive to say the least.
Hall grew up in Philly and was heavily influenced by black musicians and black bands.
Hall said as a teen he worked with black band’s and his style and manner of singing and playing music is only natural based on the environment he was raised.
Make no mistake, don’t refer to Daryl Hall as Blue eyed soul or risk getting yo azz kicked.
Don’t underestimate Mr Hall because he can put a good beating on ya if you cause him to flip his cool.
Steve Winwood is excellent, especially his cover of Georgia by Ray Charles.

You must be a child of the 80s, having a Voltron reference with the 80s Voltron logo. And a favorite of his is Can't Find My Way Home. An excellent rendition of it is th-cam.com/video/8L82II1lNjo/w-d-xo.html

LOOOVED TRAFFIC ... but since he changed to Virgin I've gone completely off that sound. Too bloody pathetic. Too commercial. But that's just me.

Almost 3 unnecessary minutes wasted on a discussion of blue eyed soul.

Wish you hadn't wasted time on cultural appropriation. Good music is good music. Did Jimmy Hendrix invent the guitar? Is the guitar an African instrument? Does it matter? 🤔
