In my 30s and later, I had great success with single mothers. The trick was not to get involved in an emotional relationship with them.
When they had problems in their lives they couldn't manage, they could call them and perhaps I could help them. And then they could help ME.
As an example, for a time I had a very attractive single mother who worked very late as a bartender. Her son was a Cub Scout and she needed someone to take him to meetings and make sure he was safe at home.
So I would do that, and put him to bed at a suitable time. And I would sleep in mom's bed until she got home, and then we would sleep together. I would usually leave in the morning.
No problems, and no emotional involvement.

I married a woman with a child 13 years ago... this video is 100% OF WHAT I EXPERIENCED!!!! We're still married, her kid is now in college/grown and gone and our home has never been more united!!! Because now we all live in ONE house under ONE set of rules. When it was me, her, her kid, and OUR two kids together and we lived under TWO sets of rules. He is ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!! I would NEVER recommend being a step father EVER!! I've said the exact same thing my entire marriage "being a step father is all of the responsibility with none of the benefit." I would not recommend.
I have kids and want to be desire to married but I know I would have to give up a lot to make the relationship go smoothly and most of it would have to be what the man wants.

I cannot even begin to share the dramas/ money/ relationships destroyed by her and stress caused. My son never even lived with her, and has spent 17 years trying to get custody. I talk about this all the time with my friends. Up until probably late 50s a mans value (as long as his earning potential holds up) increases, while a womans decreases. At around 30 they start to realize this and this is when self reflection begins. I learned to deal with rejection like the day I started trying to talk to girls.
They start to learn how to deal with rejection well into their 30s after the first marriage dissipates. Now, at 38, divorcing, not rich but doing well, I know for a fact I might not get every 25 year old, but I could. What changed about me, when I was younger all I cared about was getting laid, now at my age I am evaluating whether or not I'm going to be treated as an ATM, etc etc. I don't really care if I have sex, a 100$ fleshlight fixed that. Probably the most empowering feeling I've ever experienced.
