We should absolutely stay part of Denmark. The way it's structured now, it is in our favour. On the surface independence sounds and feels great, but I find we are a little too good at blaming Denmark for our problems. Sure some are because of Denmark but we need to face our own problems and take responsibility.
I might be biased because I live in Denmark and it's been a while since I was home, but the Danes are good and kind, and they are willing to listen to what we have to say, even when it is not nice for them to hear.

Why would you want to pursue independence from Denmark? In my opinion, this would not be a wise choice. The native population is not oppressed, and Denmark provides financial support. Additionally, having a European Union passport, which your children currently possess, is a valuable asset. Moreover, many of the people in your region are bilingual, which is an advantage. It's worth noting that you have the right to move and live anywhere in Europe, including my home country of Greece? Therefore, I believe that seeking independence would leave you worse off

As a immigrant living in Denmark. I think Denmark should give independence to Greenland because it's more like a burden on their GDP.

@@hustlersgame8759 We Danes don't really have any big connection to Greenland either, we have mutual respect. Greenland is in the eye of politicians in Denmark valuable because of the power gain in arctic circle between super powers. That's really all there is to it, and now the policies are in place to Greenlands favour, they can do anything they want (except for handling foreign affairs, obviously as Denmark wants to flex the land area), and they'll get economic sustainability from Denmark in return. It's a win win scenario.

Even the mines in Greenland are in great debts. It's only an show of power and nothing less.
Only the aviation in Greenland causes massive dent on Danish pockets.
Rather than giving tht money to Greenland they should invest in migrants coming from arab countries. They need housing.

    • @FroddeB

@@hustlersgame8759 3.4 billion kr is really nothing compared to the public spending of of 1.27 trillion kr. So I don't know what you're complaining about. Also according to law, Greenlanders are Danish citizens... So in that sense it would make more sense to spend money on Greenland rather than immigrants.
Also "no position in world politics"? Denmark is a founding member the EU, NATO and the UN, and as you missed my point Greenland is exactly what makes Denmark politically relevant to superpowers, once the arctic circle melts enough, new shorter trade routes will become accessible and exactly 6 countries will have a play in this, Russia, China, Canada, US, Norway and DENMARK.

As a greenlander. One little pitty itchy tiny remark. Due to military bases in Greenland mainly Thule. Denmark get to pay less rhen what it normally cost to be a member of NATO. Little under 2%. Even though that sounds insignificant. It is estimated to be around 18 billion dansk kroner give or take few hundred millions. And Denmark give to Greenland about 3/4 billion a year to be part of Kingdom of Denmark.
