I’m planning out a platform fighter based on memes and pop culture, and I really want to do a Tally Hall rep and I can’t decide if I should make it a solo band member that would change for the alts and it references T.H.I.S. but I could also do Simon from the lost Hawaii Partii: Labyrinth game, and he could use a mix of his wooden sword and some enemies.
Just noticed that the part in 00:44 comes from Do It All The Time from IDKHow, the fact that the Tally Hall rep gets that makes me want this character to win even more (besides me being biased since i'm a massive fan of Tally Hall and its side proyects).

I find the problem with artist specific characters is that if you don't know much of their work it feels a whole lot less cool and unique with sources. While i find myself falling into this category, this character has actually gotten me to check out their discography. Liking it so far, but until we see later contestants he still resides in the bottom 3, but not the bottom by any means.
this exact thing happened for me with neil in mw1. but now that I'm familiar with most of neils stuff, neil cipher is one of my favourite characters now

This is just The Ruler of Everything with the rapping replaced with some extra vocals, all extra sources played slightly in the background and Viva la Vida’s “ohhhh”. There was nothing changed to make this a original composition. You just barely added more to it.

I think this is mitigated by the fact they were a meme pretty recently.
