FYI Don’t like daily vlogs and want a quick regrip tutorial watch this - How to REGRIP YOUR GOLF CLUBS at home - Quick 2 Minute Tutorial th-cam.com/video/timFkqffI_c/w-d-xo.html What is White Spirit?? White spirit (AU, UK and Ireland) or mineral spirits (US, Canada), also known as mineral turpentine (AU/NZ), turpentine substitute, and petroleum spirits, is a petroleum-derived clear liquid used as a common organic solvent in painting.
Great video, I found making a mark for alignment using the alignment from the old grip further down on the shaft (providing it is aligned) before removing the old grip helps with getting the alignment of the new grip correctly aligned helpful. I have midsized golf prides that I am enjoying on my current clubs.
Use masking tape and a foot pump. No messy solvent, easy to readjust if they're not perfect. Honestly, why are people still creating videos with this old messy method?
I regripped my clubs 4 months ago with Golf Pride CP2 Wrap grips. I love the feel. I've played more than 50 rounds since and they are still tacky and look new. Great video Coach!!!
Golf pride MCC PLUS 4 mids. Changed last year, and honestly they have made a difference in my startlines. Was fighting the hooks for a while gripping to tight with the bottom hand.
I love the Lamkin Sonar grips. I like the reduced taper and they last a really long time. I have an indoor golf simulator and I hit balls a LOT. I have had these grips on my clubs for almost a year and have hit tens of thousands of shots with them and they still feel like new.
I've used Golf Pride my entire life. I'd recommend never using Winn Grips, especially on putters. They decompose and the stuff comes off on your hands.
That's why I'm regripping right now with Amazon crap... all the videos say they're just about the same as the Winn and about 1/5 the price. But I'm not a tour pro or even the club pro's 3-ball partner.
I re-grip my own clubs each year, currently using Lamkin Crossover midsize grips. When I attach the new grip I use a couple of rubber vice grips to hold the club steady in a workmate, then sliding grips on is quite easy.
Great video Lockey, I've been re-gripping my own clubs at home for about a year and really enjoy the process. My favourite grips are the Lamkin Crossline mid size and I have them on all my irons. On the Woods I've got the Golf Pride CP2 mid size which I really like too.
I currently have Lamkin Sonar+ on my MP-32's. My new 223's come in on Friday and will have Sonar+ Wrap (3 wraps). I've messed around with so many grips over the years, I did have and like the leather Bestgrips for about 3 years but they are hard on the hands in the wintertime.
My favorite is Lamkin Crossline. I also use the most popular golf Pride tour velvet, but it seems like the Lamkins last a bit longer. Btw I wear small/ medium glove but recently changed to medium grips and it eased my gripping tension which helps a lot.
I currently have the Golf Pride Grips with the Arccos Chip Technology at the butt end embedded within the grip but will soon regrip my clubs with my favorite golf grips - IOMIC Sticky Mid Grips in either Gray or Navy
I always suggest washing grips first with dish or bar soap to see if that makes them tacky again (assuming there are no serious wear spots on the grips). If somebody has a bench vise, a steel sided rubber shaft clamp, and a hook blade knife, removing the grips is a little easier. You put the clamp on the shaft, put it in the vice without too much pressure (to not crack the graphite shaft), then you can tilt the hook blade so only the dull side is against the shaft while cutting the grip. The hook blade will cut most of one side of a grip in one pass without scratching the shaft. You can also peel it back the same way as Coach Lockey, cutting the overlap. My grips are Golf Pride CP2 Pro Midsize - very comfortable (my hands don't perspire). A less messy, but initially more expensive method (compressor cost) is to use 2 layers of masking tape on the shaft instead of 2 sided tape, the same vice and rubber clamp, and an air compressor with the correct nozzle that fits in the hole at the end of the grip. You get the grip on the first 1/2 inch or so of the taped shaft, then apply the air in short bursts. The grip will expand slightly as you slide it on. Once it is all of the way on you can give it short bursts of air to adjust its alignment. There is enough friction so the grip won't move (no drying time needed - instantly playable. P.S. Great family video! God has blessed you!
Great vid and some happy family time too. Your missus is a good sport - no doubt your little one will be too. Very cute. Thanks for this - about to regrip my own clubs here in Sydney. Usually $30 and up per grip, so I'll do my own thank you very much! Cheers mate, Dave PS. I use Golf Pride grips, though here in Sydney it's more like something-else-Pride grips these days... 🙂
Use Golf Pride Tour Velvet in Mid Size. They were on a set of irons given to me a few years ago. And were the only change I made when I bought new clubs
So pleased you have a youtube channel now, Coach. My grip of preference: Star Grip Sidewinder. Works good. Lasts a loooooonnnggg time. Made in USA. Reasonable price. 'Nuff said.
Just had some ORKA RS10'S built for me and Iomic Sticky Army 2.3 Grips and following this weekend of rain I was amazed at how tacky they got when wet... Best so far
Golf pride MCC4 midsized grips are awesome. I measured my hands and determined I needed midsized grips. I used to hit a " big draw" these grips have helped tremendously with bring back closer to center with a small draw.
Keep posting the personal stuff coach! Lovin it! Never thought about leaving the old tape, jeeh that saves all the hard work! My favourite is the winn dri tac by the way. The soft touch reminds me not to squeezing so tight
I change my grips about once a year, always use best grips in golf, midsize GP tour wraps plus 2 layers of tape (currently in white) best feel, and once you know how to look after them the best grips I’ve ever used in the wet… 👍👍
lamkins and multi compound mixtures, just not changed the lamkins but got he confidence to do some new multi compounds after that video. keep up the great videos Lockey!!
Just put new Winn dry tac 2.0 mid sized on my hybrids 3 wood and driver. I feel like with the mid sized on those clubs that I can control my ball flight better when trying to draw or cut the ball.
Just switched to Golf Pride CP2 Wrap midsize. Nice and tacky with a good feel, although when the temps go over 90F my hands sometimes slip if they get sweaty.
I just got rid of the Golf Pride corded grips on my irons as they were causing a strange allergic reaction on my right (non-gloved) hand! Gone for something smoother (less likely to chew up my skin) and tackier - Iomic. Definitely an improvement. The other way you can take the old grips off is by using compressed air to blow them off, but you ideally need to try and work some solvent down between grip and club first if you can.
Golf pride standard black grips are the best by far. Also, as last person said, a hooked blade makes it all so much easier, along with a plastic clamping vice and shaft protector.. All very cheap stuff to buy. Well Lockeyed.
I still love the Lamkin Crossline, so always choose that when regripping wherever possible. I’ve had the same one on my putter for 20 years and it’s still like brand new!
Coach Lockey , enjoyed your regrip tape very much. I have always used Lamkin crossline myself. I have used them for twenty five years, didn't need a reason to change I guess. i will keep watching your videos. Thank You. Kris Henning
I have the orange and black golf pride grips but need to change them on my irons for some midsize ones so this will help me when i get round to doing that thanks coach.
I have Lamkin Sonar+ Wrap Calibrate, standard size with two layers of tape on my irons, and I am very pleased with them. :) They're sticking to my hands with no effort.
I have just changed to mid sized golf pride grips for my driver, 3wood and both hybrids. Helps loads with vibration dampening and no change in swing patterns… keeping the irons with standard grips for now.. Nice to meet the family Coach
Good to see how simple it is to replace grips, only problem is getting grips right now is a nightmare. At present I use formula one racing car type .... yes slick. The advantage of these is I get my steps up as I have to walk after the club when it's flown out of my hands!
Thanks coach. I did my first attemp at changing grip on my own to my fw7. A used old callaway xr club. Pleased with the result. Easier than i thought. Thank you!
Outstanding video! I really need to do this my self Could you provide a list for shopping? - What was the clear liquid you used? - where can I find grip-tape? Also the putter would be the same as the steel shaft -?
I have original Callaway grips which I am looking to change out myself. Thank you for the informational video and I am going to venture out and try this on my own. IF you have any more Ryder Cup cup grips send them my way brother!!! But keep up the videos! Cheers
Loving the channel locks! Current grips are Golf Pride CP2 Wrap Golf Grip, follow you on Twitter and instagram but now need to download TikTok, bloody things you do to win something! #Army
Nice video. I like the Golf Pride Tour 25 grips. 25 grams for a little less weight. Because of my height I'm chopping the clubs a little and the swing weight turns out fine.

The first thing I was looking for! Awsome. Much appreciated
We used to use Scotch (cellophane)Tape and lighter fluid.
What tape do you use coach?
Thankyou
Thanks brother. White spirits through me off a bit lol
Just removed my grips and now heading to the aquarium. Will start step 3 when I get back. Thanks!

I absolutely love golf pride
A hooked blade makes taking the grip off a graphite shaft a delight (ok, really easy)
It does if you have one haha
My thoughts exactly
Or use air.
@@andreungerer3531 Please elaborate because even using a hooked blade like I do still feels like it could turn into a DIY circumcision.

I've been regripping my own clubs/woods for about three years. My favorite is Winn grips.
Lovely family Coach! Thank you for the re-grip instructions.
Thanks. Love the accent. Have the golf pride tour wrap. Like the classic Wrap look plus feels slightly thicker than standard ones.

Nice job, thank you. GP tour wrap white, my faves. Gonna put them on a new set of MP 225 irons.

Tend to favor 360 style, no logo. I am too picky with alignment being off line to my preference, so better to just have nothing at all
Awesome, thanks! Thought I needed a bench vise to pull this off but about to regrip my driver with MCC Align
Always loved the softness of Lamkin.

Hi Coach. Just a quick question. How do you align the grip to the club face? I have no idea. Thanks 😊
CP2 Wraps Golf Pride are my favorite. Pricey for a doing a full set of them, but they last twice as long as some of the Winn grips.
I have just changed to mid sized golf pride grips for my driver, 3wood and both hybrids. Helps loads with vibration dampening and no change in swing patterns… keeping the irons with standard grips for now.. Nice to meet the family Coach
irons with mid sized grips helped so much for me
Bloody Lovely !!! great tip with the graphite shafts.
Lamkin full cords are great for me. Got golf pride full cords on another set and the lamkin is superior.

Golf pride mcc plus 4. Really like the non taper feeling.
