Easy note on the PS2 that I am sure someone else has mentioned - but if you have played *any* PS2 game that was HD remastered for a recent system in the past 10 years, I think that invalidates your personal opinion of the console not being a goated console, given your reasoning. I remember playing the wii with game cube games with game cube controllers at my cousins house every 4th of July Mario cart and smash bros good times 12 years ago
Disagree with Dreamcast not having a good library of games it has a great library of games, Soul Calibur Sonic Adventure Crazy Taxi Resident Evil Code Veronica Street Fighter 3 third strike Space Channel Shenume the 2k sports games even Sea Man the list goes on!!!
They require a paid subscription to pay the people to combat hackers. Sony tried the free subscription thing and I remember back in 2010 or 11 their service was literally down for like a month because it got hacked.
The Vita had a confusing marketing campaing, proprietary (extremly expensive) storage and very limited game library at launch it also didn't really escape the handheld curse of getting crappy spin-offs to full games. In a way, the Steam Deck is very similar to the Vita but it took all the feedbacks from the Vita's launch and fixed all the issues. Also i think the N64 should go down by 1 tier.
Actually Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo has online capabilities. It was called XBand and it was available in most major cities like New York, L.A, Miami etc. That was early to mid 90s.
Too add to your comments with the Wii, the launch model was amazing with the Gamecube support, the 2nd Wii Model and the top loading red one they did dropped the support and the controller ports..
13:55 holy shit i’ve all dark souls and most fromsoft games multiple times, and i didn’t even know about this and i knew about their older games such as kings field. :P
Here to defend the master system. The reason it didn't get many games was Nintendo contracted developers to develop solely for the NES, which is why a lot of MS games are Segafied Nintendo games (Master of Darkness to Castlevania and Phantasy Star to Final Fantasy). The monopoly was only broken because the Genesis released for the SNES and devs wanted to try the shiny new console, plus it sold enough that it would have been suicide for Nintendo to try again with the SNES. And that was my ted talk for how ff7 wound up on ps1, thanks for listening
Actually a very decent ranking! I don't know about the newer consoles, but I'd rate the older ones pretty much like you did except I'd lower the Genesis and Game Gear a tier each. Also missing the TurboGrafx-16!
I woud rate the genesis as a 100% goated console. There are so many good titles. Technically a master piece. Neogeo is also missing. Also the neogeo pocket. And too many consoles listed as 100% are highly overrated. Gamecube one tier lower. N64 two tiers lower. PS4 one tier lower. PS3 one tier higher. Swap GBA with NDS. Also maybe PSVita one tier higher. Dreamcast also is sooo good for it's time. I know nothing is objective in lists like this.
thanks for giving ps2 the spot it deserves. still play that a lot, but thats probably thanks to freemcboot and hd loading to be fair. i swear the disk drive failure rates made me paranoid...
Gameboy ahould be higher. I never owned one but it lasted over a decade which is amazing, against much more powerful rivals. It set the blueprint for Nintendo to dominate the handheld market to date
My favorite console I own is the Wii U. The games are very good, I liked the online features, and the gamepad feels pretty comfortable. My favorite console I don’t own is Probaly the ps3 or 3DS
7:21 That is correct. Controller that came with a console, did not have analog sticks, and that is one reason, why only some PS1 games, do use those analog sticks.
Personally feel the GBA is a goated of all time, because sure it had Pokemon, but it also could play your GB/C games, some good ports of NES/SNES games, and a lot of the Nintendo first party games are so widely beloved among their respective franchises. If not just packing a massive quality libraty. Minish Cap, Two Metroid games, 3 Castlevania games, MegaMan X Zero, as mentioned Golden Sun, Fire Emblem, Kirby. It was a handheld device that had a game for everyone, and such a stellar catalogue of games Plus it has that nostalgia bonus from me, it's what I had growing up. And at the risk of sounding like a Boomer, I have a massive problem with some trends in the gaming industry that I feel started in the 6th generation of gaming (the PS3/360 era), and that being the time when games are being released as blatantly unfinished, and in need of day 1 patches, the horrendous practice of games as live service, and the decline of backwards compatability. Of course games have been very corporate interest first, but it felt like the innovations of the 6th generation also gave corporations a lot more ways to screw the consumer over. So I personally feel anything past that (outside like, the Wii, PC gaming, and begrudgingly the Switch, any other console should be given their own category of "good games but corpos suck" or something. Anyways, I'm done on the soap box, I loved the video!
About AA batteries:. It's a lot easier to find replacement AA batteries (I use NiMH rechargable batteries) than replacing over-charged PS3 proprietary batteries. Don't knock AAs... Get Rechargables and rechargers.
I agree with most but outside of sales numbers , the dreamcast and saturn were amazing consoles. The saturn has some of the best versions of many games, and the dreamcast was the closest thing to an arcade that was ever mass marketed. Neo geo and turbo grafx you skipped. Turbo had amazing exclusives and neo geo was just in its own league and was for years. I know the price was crazy but no different than computers vs consoles now. But really it was a good list and a good watch thank you
N64 should be lower. It has some absolute classic games, but past those it has a very weak library. And the graphics on some games have aged horribly. Feels funny saying it since Super Mario 64 is my fav game of all time but its true - not a goat
My favorite devices to game on are the nes, ps2, pc, and the steam deck. The nes was my first console when i was a little kid. The ps2 i used as a all in one entertainment system during high school/ young adult. I could play movies, music, ps1 and ps2 games. As an older adult, i like the usefulness of the pc/steam deck. I also like the upgrade ability of pc's.
Interesting one for me. I have been a gamer since the C64 home computer. I have owned sega, playstation and Xbox consoles. For me, I think it is probably the PS4 as that had two of my all time favourite games. The Witcher 3 Wildhunt, and Skyrim remastered. The PS2 Had MGS Snake Eater which I loved. I now own an Xbox Series X, which I love. Games like Elden Ring etc really pop. Plus Game pass is amazing
I played so much of the 360 (2010) was the year i jumped on the bandwagon, that was when the system got Slim (Version) And the Nintendo Wii I just t traded my GC console to get the Wii, as i had so many GC games.
You did not mention Eternal Darkness or tales of symphonia for GameCube. Why does everyone forget about Eternal Darkness, a masterpiece and co-developed by Nintendo, a horror game! More love for eternal darkness please.
Great video and I do agree with almost all of your classifications. The part that I would disagree would be including the current gen. These consoles have many years ahead in their lifespan and many things yet to deliver in terms of hardware, games and fun. Let’s see if PS5 will surpass PS4 and if XBOX will perform better.
Despite the gamecube controller c-stick not being analog, I think the 1st party gamecube controller is the best controller of all time. They never break or get damaged. I can't say that about any other controller that I've ever had. Nintendo 64 - control stick leans too much after several years. PS2 - after 10 years, Left control stick thinks center is left, right is center, can't move to the right at alll. Xbox buttons got mushy and don't rise instantly after a decade. Xbox 360 mushy buttons after 15 years. Gamecube controller. I still have my original black 1st party gamecube controller. Dust it off and I can't tell the difference between it and and a mint in box black new one. I swear dwarven blacksmiths crafted it b/c it will last longer than I will.
Every console and handheld I've ever owned ranked: 1. PS3 2. PS2 3. Nintendo 64 4. Nintendo Switch 5. Wii 6. PS1 7. PS4 8. Nintendo DS 9. Gameboy Advance SP 10. GameCube 11. Xbox 360 12. PS5 13. Nintendo 3DS 14. Xbox One
Gotta disagree with some of this. First of all, you didn't include the Turbografx 16/PC Engine! This console for me is definitely in the Good category (PC Engine at least, Turbo would be lower as it has a much weaker library). Next problem, the Genesis/Mega Drive should be in the top tier next to the SNES. Third, the PS2 and Xbox combined do 95% of what the Gamecube can do, so Gamecube should be much lower. Finally, the N64 has one of the weakest libraries out there, it probably has 15 - 20 games that are must plays, the rest are mediocre or rubbish... coupled with the fact that all games no matter how amazing run like crap and have blurry ugly graphics I cannot accept this console as one of the best, it's definitely on the low end for me. Also, going back to the Gamecube, it's controller might be comfortable but it has a lot of issues: the d-pad is too small, it doesn't have a true second analogue stick, it's triggers are crap, it's face button placements makes no sense and it only has 1 shoulder button, so this console also cannot be considered top tier. For me: Bad but has some bright spots: N64, Gamecube 100% Goated: Genesis Good: PC Engine Everything else I mostly agree with :)
First of all, thanks for the comment, I love hearing other peoples opinions whether they agree with me or not. but any who. These are old consoles and I don't think that they're perfect, in fact, the PS1 has one of the weakest libraries out there, it probably has 15 - 20 games that are must plays, the rest are mediocre or rubbish... coupled with the fact that all games no matter how amazing run like crap and have blurry ugly graphics I cannot accept this console as one of the best, it's definitely on the low end for me. and the GameCube and Xbox combined do 95% of what the PS2 can do, so PS2 should be much lower. ^These are your statements but Nintendo products swapped for Sony products, and I still believe they still hold true. So if GameCube and the N64 get knocked down so do the PS1 and PS2, also the Xbox. (if you swap in Xbox in the above statement I think it still holds true as well) As for your statement on the GameCube controller, It doesn't need 2 good analog sticks most the games that you're playing on the GameCube aren't like the ones on Xbox or the PS2 where you are panning the camera constantly, therefore always have your thumb on the right stick. For the GameCube you just keep your thumb on the buttons. Side note Nintendo still makes their games like this to work with 1 Joy-Con. Don't get me wrong the D-pad and C-stick (right analog) are stinky stinky poo poo, on the GC controller, but for most GameCube games you will either never touch them, or use them an extremely small amount. The Triggers are just a difference of opinion I love how they feel, they're mechanical and clicky, to me they're just fun to press. The face button placements definitely make sense, the one you use the most is the big green one. So anyways I would be fine with moving the Sega Genesis up to 100% goated (the gap between 100% goated and still goated was very small in my head. You could think of the still goated category as 90% goated). I would still keep everything else where it is 😊 Thankyou for listening to my ted talk, -VibeCheckup
@@VibeCheckup I do mostly agree with you about the Gamecube controller coming down to personal preference, but the lack of a proper right stick and tiny d-pad does mean multiplatform games will suffer to some degree even if it's exclusives wont be affected. Now the problem with flipping my statements around is that they don't actually make sense when flipped. With PS1 games yes a lot of the games could be considered ugly, but they are still very sharp, not blurry, and most games run very smoothly, locked 30fps is very common to see, this is very rare on N64. And obviously you don't really believe there are only 15 - 20 games on PS1 worth playing do you? I could list well over 100, maybe even 200, it has an incredible library. Your statement regarding PS2/Xbox also doesn't make sense. I said this combo is the best because of the amount of exclusives the PS2 has coupled with how well the Xbox runs multiplaform games due to it's power. So how can the Gamecube compete? It has 80 exclusive games, the PS2 has over 600. Now obviously not all of those games will be good, so lets say 20% of those are must haves, that's 16 games for Gamecube Vs 120 for PS2. When you break it down like that I don't see how the Gamecube can be considered a better option? But regardless of our disagreements I did enjoy your video, and I did agree with most of your choices. I had it on while I trained legs which definitely helped distract me from the pain of squatting and lunging!

@@scottlentfert1827Yeah I play many of those types if games I never played back then as a kid or ever heard of but play them on a android phone with a ps2 emulator
Just watched 2 hours of your vids definitely going to keep watching you for now on keep up the good work...
Bro, I just loved your video maybe our only differences are that I m more a Playstation fanboy but very entertaining video! Already hit the subscriber button
I remember playing the wii with game cube games with game cube controllers at my cousins house every 4th of July Mario cart and smash bros good times 12 years ago
the mentioned games for each system shows you have no clue
Disagree with Dreamcast not having a good library of games it has a great library of games,
Soul Calibur Sonic Adventure Crazy Taxi Resident Evil Code Veronica Street Fighter 3 third strike Space Channel Shenume the 2k sports games even Sea Man the list goes on!!!
Snes, Gameboy Color, PS2, X360, Switch Oled, Steamdeck and the Series X are to me the 100% goated list
PS5 absolutely rolls The Series X the only thing keeping Xbox up in this generation is the Series S which is 100%Goated.
Doesn’t even have a fucking disc drive series s sucks
@@watchfso you prefer physical games?
I think Dreamcast still feels new and innovative.
Wii U is 100% goated you’re crazy
Absolutely agree
Honestly the Xbox 360 is just peak console in my opinion but I would prefer a pc over a Xbox 360.
Actually Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo has online capabilities. It was called XBand and it was available in most major cities like New York, L.A, Miami etc. That was early to mid 90s.
Cool video!, I was expecting to see the Turbo Grafx and Neogeo, I need a part 2 :)
This Year, when you mention the subscribe button at 10:38 it actually glows.
15:09 yes! Someone finally recognizes Fable
100% Goated Nes,Snes,Genesis
0% everything else
Too add to your comments with the Wii, the launch model was amazing with the Gamecube support, the 2nd Wii Model and the top loading red one they did dropped the support and the controller ports..
I bet everyone in the comments are saying "Where is the Magnavox Odyssey?" and "Where is the Virtual boy?"
I know nothing is objective in lists like this.
nah but this list's actually so inoffensive
thanks for giving ps2 the spot it deserves. still play that a lot, but thats probably thanks to freemcboot and hd loading to be fair. i swear the disk drive failure rates made me paranoid...
its goated
PC gaming is only 100% goated for rich people because there the only ones that can afford a PC worth saying 100% goated
Only kids and people without jobs can’t afford a PC
Gameboy ahould be higher. I never owned one but it lasted over a decade which is amazing, against much more powerful rivals. It set the blueprint for Nintendo to dominate the handheld market to date
My favorite console I own is the Wii U. The games are very good, I liked the online features, and the gamepad feels pretty comfortable. My favorite console I don’t own is Probaly the ps3 or 3DS
Great list
Please start uploading again😭😭😭
That tier list is just objective facts
You should play more SMS games: Power Strike 2, Illusion series, Wonder Boy 3, Golvellius, Zillion, Road Rash, Jurassic Park
In terms of consoles I return to the most and have the most fun with, the Atari is easily top 2. N64 hasn’t aged as well for me.
N64 down 3, dreamcast up 1, gbc down 1, gamecube down 1 lost interest after gba lol. Like retro consoles
Ps5 is 100% 🐐
7:21 That is correct. Controller that came with a console, did not have analog sticks, and that is one reason, why only some PS1 games, do use those analog sticks.
SNES and Genesis had online in 95/96 with the xband, but they weren't built in
Personally feel the GBA is a goated of all time, because sure it had Pokemon, but it also could play your GB/C games, some good ports of NES/SNES games, and a lot of the Nintendo first party games are so widely beloved among their respective franchises. If not just packing a massive quality libraty.
Minish Cap, Two Metroid games, 3 Castlevania games, MegaMan X Zero, as mentioned Golden Sun, Fire Emblem, Kirby.
It was a handheld device that had a game for everyone, and such a stellar catalogue of games
Plus it has that nostalgia bonus from me, it's what I had growing up.
People who say Exspecially should be closely examined. Great video tho
But really it was a good list and a good watch thank you
Id take a Dreamcast over the Genesis. Also having a PS2 gives you access to the entire PS1 library as well. Unreal.
3ds, psp, and vita all go in s tier for me. i love handhelds
Yugioh on the gameboy really did hit different
Hell yeah. Stairway to Destined Duel was the one I had and it was amazing. I have it on my phone and still play it sometimes.
Been a collector and gamer since original Nintendo days and my personal top 3 consoles are : #1 ps1, #2 snes and #3 Nintendo Wii
1:47 bro ATARI is best console in 1988 ofc its goat
N64 should be lower. It has some absolute classic games, but past those it has a very weak library. And the graphics on some games have aged horribly. Feels funny saying it since Super Mario 64 is my fav game of all time but its true - not a goat
Nahh PS5 should be higher
Still enjoyed the video tho 💪🏽
My favorite devices to game on are the nes, ps2, pc, and the steam deck. The nes was my first console when i was a little kid. The ps2 i used as a all in one entertainment system during high school/ young adult. I could play movies, music, ps1 and ps2 games. As an older adult, i like the usefulness of the pc/steam deck. I also like the upgrade ability of pc's.
He didn’t even mention the built in screen on the PS1
That came out ps1 slim.i remember that
Interesting one for me.
Saturn move up one, n64 move down one, ps vita & and psp move up one, and ur good 👍thanks doin all that work that was fun!
I played so much of the 360 (2010) was the year i jumped on the bandwagon, that was when the system got Slim (Version) And the Nintendo Wii I just t traded my GC console to get the Wii, as i had so many GC games.
Aint no way someone put the game gear higher than wii u
Disagree on a few of the Wii U points
You did not mention Eternal Darkness or tales of symphonia for GameCube. Why does everyone forget about Eternal Darkness, a masterpiece and co-developed by Nintendo, a horror game!
More love for eternal darkness please.
Great video and I do agree with almost all of your classifications.
The part that I would disagree would be including the current gen. These consoles have many years ahead in their lifespan and many things yet to deliver in terms of hardware, games and fun. Let’s see if PS5 will surpass PS4 and if XBOX will perform better.
For me:
100% Goated: Genesis (Megadrive) / Dreamcast
Also Goated…: Master System
Good console: Game Gear (Game Boy is 100% goated) / Saturn
My top 3 Goat:
1- Dreamcast (aunque considero mejor a PS2)
2-PS2
3- Switch (sorry Gamecube)
Gracias por el video en general es una buena lista, es tu lista! Y eso es lo importante, cada uno hemos tenido nuestro camino por lo que es normal tener diferencias, es lo que más me gusto de tu video, lo que da lugar a debate
Every console and handheld I've ever owned ranked:
1. PS3
2. PS2
3. Nintendo 64
4. Nintendo Switch
5. Wii
6. PS1
7. PS4
8. Nintendo DS
9. Gameboy Advance SP
10. GameCube
11. Xbox 360
12. PS5
13. Nintendo 3DS
14. Xbox One
PS5 IS 100PROCENT GOATED
For me:
Bad but has some bright spots: N64, Gamecube
100% Goated: Genesis
Good: PC Engine
Everything else I mostly agree with :)
(if you swap in Xbox in the above statement I think it still holds true as well)
As for your statement on the GameCube controller, It doesn't need 2 good analog sticks most the games that you're playing on the GameCube aren't like the ones on Xbox or the PS2 where you are panning the camera constantly, therefore always have your thumb on the right stick.
I would still keep everything else where it is 😊
Thankyou for listening to my ted talk,
-VibeCheckup
The original Genesis had only three face buttons.
I'm so glad someone else thinks the 360 is the greatest controller of all time. Also, the steam deck can literally be 90% of the consoles on the list. 100% goat
I don't think this guy understands what GOAT means
Genesis and snes should be same level
